  4. The first in Stockholm, anyway. Obviously the Franchise has won a couple before, but yeah I'm really looking forward to the coming seasons.
  5. Good for them. Meanwhile, in Stockholm, Lloyd Light has regained some lost momentum in practice. After discussing things with management, he has resolved to be a better player than he has been. After leading the Vikings in points during his rookie season, he fell to just 63 points in his sophomore season, far below his expectations. With the team on the rise, Light is determined to not be a player that holds the team back. Expecting to bounce back from his relatively poor season, Light has high aspirations for the coming seasons, for himself individually and his team. Season 43 may still be all about Cologne and Helsinki over in Europe, but soon enough Stockholm and Davos will rise to prominence. When that time comes, Light will be someone the Vikings can count on, even if he won't be the star. Having full faith in the management, and knowing that management has full faith in him, Light's attitude is a great asset for the franchise considered the worst in the VHL. He wants to win not just for himself, but for the team, the franchise, his teammates. His aspirations go beyond winning Continental Cups with the team, but being a part of the rebranding of the franchise as one that commands respect.
  6. I know in the past it was based not on your placement in the playoffs but the number of rounds you won. EDIT: The number of rounds you win before losing, rather.
  7. That's how it's been so I wouldn't expect it to be any different this time around.
  8. This is updated through the end of the conference finals for anyone interested.
  9. Pick the winner, all three correct will earn 1 TPE (N/A is an answer here) Game 5: @ - Quebec Game 6: @ - Cologne Game 7: @ - N/A Predict the score, Correctly predict the score and winner for 3 TPE Game 5: @ - N/A or 4-3 Quebec if N/A is not acceptable Predict the leading point earner of the series for 1 TPE Aksel Thomassen Predict the leading penalty minutes earner for 1 TPE Bruno Wolf Predict the leading special teams goals earner for 1 TPE Robin Gow
  10. I want to help a different team I made a thread about it in the Stockholm locker room but then boubabi made a different thread and Doomsday replied to his and not mine even though I posted mine first and I'm so mad that I don't even have time for punctuation
  11. tfw Stockholm has to write about Madrid's 24-point season as it best defines the franchise's futility oh nvm they've had multiple seasons worse than that
  12. Except indexes from S1 to S17 can't be accessed.
  13. Oh hey the Mongooses from ISL were kind of like the Americans here. I prepped them for the next GM to step in and wreck shit. Although I feel like I deserve less credit for the Americans here than I did with the Mongooses there. BCLake was indeed Alex Cooper aka Laker12 aka Nagger. He's pretty famous around these parts. Him telling Jake Jones to retire certainly made things tougher for us with the Mongooses. Also, while I was your first GM in a player sim league, did you know that it was you who first got me in to sim leagues? It was on a GameFAQs message board where you were advertising the SSFL (I believe that was the name of the league; the precursor to the APSL).
  14. I think. Anyway, the Vikings were swept out of the playoffs by the Cologne Express. The series may have gone quicker than some expected, but very few if any would have predicted the ultimate outcome to be different than it was. This was not a season in which Stockholm was expecting to make a deep playoff run, so the disappointment is minimal. The playoff experience gained should help the young roster as it moves forward. Unless big moves are made, it's likely that next season will play out similarly for the Vikings, albeit with an improved chance for upsetting the competition. Lord Karnage, who should be honored with this season's Rookie of the Year award, will be one of the VHL's premier defensemen next season. He is someone who I believe could find himself some attention for MVP when it comes time to make S43 award predictions. The Vikings hold on to the first and fifth overall picks of the S42 draft, so they look to shore up more of their future during the off-season. Already heavy on defensemen and goaltending, the Vikings will have to find forwards somewhere, whether it's through the draft, trades, or perhaps a position change for Karnage or Lloyd Light, who are both very capable offensively. While they do have several forwards with decent potential already in the system (Joseph Roy III, Mario De Rossi, Teuvo Ruutu, Vogon Jeltz, Severin von Karma, and Prince Gigga Bijou), none of those players project to be stars that can carry an offense, something that VHL history has shown to be very important for teams. end.
