Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
It seemed as if Saskatoon's season was nothing more than a stepping stone into S48. They had the dramatic Sir Covington III, who basically held out from other teams, and stated he wanted to play for the Wild, despite their hopes to land a high pick for next season. With Covington, they had a sniper - a guy who could find the back of the net, almost every night. GM Ahma continued with his duties, with the idea in the back of his mind that it wouldn't be a "bad thing" to miss playoffs, and get a high pick in the next season's draft.
This plan has seemingly been altered with the recent waiver claims to three very promising S48 prospects. Unassisted, Bogdan Podarok, and Dmitri Dadonov were all claimed about three weeks ago - since then the Saskatoon Wild have secured a playoff spot, and even shocked a conference rival with a win. Whether or not Saskatoon can really do much damage in the playoffs is another story, but for now they've earned a chance to try. The three S48 prospects have seemed to have turned heads together, and could very well all be in the first round of the S48 VHLM Entry Draft,
