To me, two things come to mind when determining a jersey retirement: success in a career, and time served with the franchise. As such, there's one player who spent his entire career in Calgary, and while here, played ridiculously well and helped us to several deep playoff runs. Without waiting any longer, I hereby honor Volodymyr Rybak with a jersey retirement; the number 49 is never to be worn again in Calgary. (as for the banner itself, Bash was going to work on matching fonts, but this is what has been done, and I didn't want to wait on the announcement.)
