Okay, history lesson please. How do you go from 77 points one season to 255 the next?
-
Sounds like you have to be ready for the TANKARD instead, seeing how those new teammates like to party!

Love this! It really brings life to the world outside of the games. The personalization at each venue was spot on and would be an amazing experience as a fan.

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words

For theme week this season, I want to focus on the talents of the S94 VHLM season. The best way to showcase that talent is with a full all-star weekend, complete with skills competitions and ending with a four-on-four game. The stakes of the game? The rights to home-ice advantage in the Founder’s Cup Finals. The teams will be divided into conferences, separating teams in the east and west. Each team will be represented by at least one player, with the remaining players chosen by the players themselves, and the fans. The Venue The reigning Founder’s Cup champions will have the honour of hosting the All-Star Weekend. The events will take place in the Wild’s arena, as well as throughout Saskatoon. The Captains Representing the VHLM All-Stars West, the captain(SB), the funk master himself – Samsayz I-Smell! I-Smell has been dominant for the west-leading Mexico City Kings, compiling 54 points, all while staying defensively sound and on pace for almost 150 hits and 200 blocked shots. While he most certainly didn’t ask for the recognition to lead the West All-Stars, he does deserve the title. (I’d like to add that while writing this, I thought of the perfect name for teammates of I-Smell while he captains them, and from this moment forward will be referred to as his Stenchmen) Captaining the the VHLM All-Stars East, Young Papi, El Jefe, the league’s leader in points – Robin Sierra! Sierra is tearing up the league in his second season. In just a few games, he surpassed every stat total from last season, going on to score 40 goals in 40 games so far and leading the VHLM with 77 points. The alternate captain of the Halifax 21st has been vocal on and off the ice, culminating in a vulnerable and courageous interview about his life and relationship with hockey. Robin has put in the work and is ready to lead the East All-Stars. The Teams West Forwards Jerry Box - SSK Meghan Dancalot - SDM Gavin Bebard - MEX David Pastanap - HOU Jacob Longstreet - SSK Captain Nugget Jr. - SSK Defence Samsayz I-Smell - MEX Miles Bryant - LVA Ahsoka Tano - SDM Kevin jonathen - SDM Goalies Connor Hellebuyck - MEX Zaps Cat - HOU East Forwards Robin Sierra - HFX Ozzy Batty - MIS Phil Sakic - MIA Konstyantyn Shevchenko - MIS Tim Robinson - MIA Anthony Simmons II - HFX Defence Donald Carlson - PHI Boris Bone-Breaker - HFX Einar Mathiesen - MIA Mathias Gunnarsson - HFX Goalies Jon Webber III - HFX Onyekachukwu Chidieber Oluwaseun - OTT The Events The events in the S94 VHLM All-Star Weekend are pretty standard. Fastest skater, hardest shot, passing challenge, accuracy shooting, and shootout challenge. Fastest Skater Challenge Meghan Dancalot, Gavin Bebard, Ahsoka Tano, kevin jonathen Vs Anthony Simmons II, Tim Robinson, Ozzy Batty, Einar Mathiesen Hardest Shot Challenge David Pastanap, Miles Bryant Vs Konstyantyn Shevchenko, Donald Carlson Passing Challenge Jerry Box, Jacob Longstreet, Miles Bryant Vs Robin Sierra, Konstyantyn Shevchenko, Donald Carlson Accuracy Shooting Challenge Captain Nugget Jr., Jerry Box Vs Phil Sakic, Robin Sierra Lastly, each player will get a chance to shoot on each opposing goalie. The goalie tandem to stop the most shots wins the challenge. The weekend will culminate with the VHLM 4-on-4 All-Star Game. Each captain will set their lineup and play three ten-minute periods, where the winners will be crowned All-Star Game champions and the winning conference will host game one of the Founder’s Cup Finals. (Please remember that this is all subjective and I didn’t put too much thought into who would be on what team. I quickly looked at numbers and tried to make it all make sense. If you feel like you should have been selected for this hypothetical All-Star Game, I apologize for leaving you out.) Stockholm Vikings Press Conference
ace_five_ replied to thadthrasher's topic in Team Press Conferences
1. We are looking like the only team that has a fighting chance against the Cologne Express. What makes them such a difficult foe to face? "I would argue that Bratislava has just as much fight in them and could very well take down the Express, proven by their recent successes. While Cologne has the firepower, the Watchmen have the size and force that can stop a moving train in its tracks." 2. The Oslo Storm have had bad start to the season. Can they turn their season around? "Probably not. Their season will just keep getting worse and worse every time they face Bratislava." 3. How big of a rivalry actually exist between the Scandinavian VHLE teams? "It can be as big of a rivalry as they want. They can squabble with each other while the real teams fight for the Cup." 4. Where in the VHLEis your least favorite place to play? "I would have to say Stockholm in my opinion. Their arena is the coldest in the league and their dressing rooms smell. One time I caught the Viking coach picking his nose, and he wiped it on the back of Johnny Tsunami's jersey when "patting him on the back". Gross." 5. What are your plans for the summer? " I'm here to play and make my mark on the VHLE. Teams are going to feel it when they hit the ice after I lay out a crushing hit on them, and then feel it on the scoreboard when they lose." 6. With game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight, what are the takeaways from game 1? "The Oilers have a real hard road ahead of them but if any team can go on a run and score goals in bunches, it's them." -

When I was drafted to Bratislava of the VHLE, the first thing I had to do was google where that was. I knew the experience in the E would be much different than that of the VHLM in Halifax, and my future in the VHL in Toronto. I now know that Bratislava is an extremely historic city and the capital of Slovakia. The next thing I had to do was buy a plane ticket to Slovakia and get on a language app to learn some new phrases in Slovak. When arriving in Bratislava the first thing I noticed was that the photos on the internet didn’t do it justice. The winding roads, the architecture, and the landscape surrounding the city were phenomenal. I took the chance to walk the city a bit before having to get down to business and report to a meeting with GM @rory. I was curious what my role would be on the team, especially considering the Watchmen also drafted VHLM star defenceman and Founder’s Cup champion Bollos de Trueno @Thunder. In the meeting, I learned that the goal would be to search for a couple more defence to help bolster the roster, but that I would be earning ice time on one of the top two pairings this season, as well as special teams minutes as well. Great, the pressure was now on to make the most of the remainder of my offseason and get ready to go against the top scorers in the VHLE this season. Luckily, de Trueno was available to train with, along with a slew of my old teammates from Halifax in Pierre Marc Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito, Connor Simard @Alex99, and Tommy Shelby @Will. We were able to do sprints down the streets in Old Town, get some endurance training done on the various hills around the city, and work on our agility in Bratislavský lesný park, or Bratislava Forest Park. We would make our way to different parts of the city each day to learn our way around while putting in the work for the quickly approaching season. After being relied on to be a leader on and off the ice for the 21st, I had to remember to take a step back now and listen to the members of the locker room who were here before me, and learn from their experiences in this league. The VHLE is a stepping stone to the big leagues and when I get there, there will be plenty of people who have been around the block far more times than I have. This experience has been humbling so far and I think it will have a great impact on how I present myself on my future teams, whether or not it is in a leadership capacity. When the season finally started, I was both nervous and excited. We would be playing our first game at home against the Oslo Storm, where my even-strength minutes would be played on the second pairing. I got off to a good start with a blocked shot in the first minute of the game, and laid out a textbook hit on Wladislaw Mintus @mintusaurus before minute five. I continued to pepper the shots on in the first frame and was rewarded with my first goal for the Bratislava Watchmen in the VHLE! Considering I only got 12 last season in the M regular season, this felt like a really good start for me. I ended that first game with two hits and two blocked shots to go along with that goal, though it ended in a loss. In the second game of the season, the former Halifax 21st teammates really came out hard on the Storm, scoring all five of the Watchman’s opening-period goals. I was happy to contribute two more for the team, bringing my early season total to three and creating more plays with five more hits and nine total blocked shots. This first home-and-home really made me feel like I belonged in this league and will give me the confidence to succeed this season. With plenty of games left to play this season, my goal is to be consistent and stay strong on the blue line for my new team. It’s going to be a tough year, but hopefully, we can come out with a Renaissance Cup to show for all our hard work. If I can do that then I should be able to show the Toronto Legion that I am someone they need on their team as soon as possible. (751 words)

1. I think my player does a little travelling to decompress after a stressful season. His preferable places to travel are ones where he can go out into nature for a day or two and be in silence for a while. 2. I think the Discord can be a lot of fun to engage with your teammates. Losing can make it a little hard to talk about things sometimes, but personally I think the GM and AGM make the LR more approachable. If you have a GM that isn't really into it or don't engage with the team the way they might prefer, nobody is going to take part in the conversation. 3. I would love to wander Europe for a week. Nothing really to do, just immerse myself in the culture and history of it and relax. 1. How long do you think it would take to get used to changing stick-handedness if you had to? (eg. if you are a left-handed shot, switching to a right-handed shot) 2. If you could guarantee a faceoff win, where would you want it to go? To your defence, wingers, or a self-win to the centerman? 3. Do you think you could pull off a "Michigan" in game?

I love all of these! The colour combinations on all the jerseys is thoughtful and work really well together. I can’t wait for the NA ones!
