Best World Cup goalies ranked by NHL.com

Another season down and another one begins....this means it is time for the annual 40+ win goalie predictions. We have a little bit of a later start then usual but nonetheless the predictions are here!

S77 Prediction recap:
In last seasons predictions we predicted that the following goalies would hit the 40+ wins.  Ajay Krishna @Hooperorama, Jean Pierre Camus @solas and Doug Dimmadome @Esso2264. How did these goalies fare and did we reach our goal of predicting 2 correct answers?

The only goalie out of this list that achieved 40+ wins and the only goalie from S77 to do this was Ajay Krishna. It was a tough season for goalies in S77 compared to S76 when 3 goalies achieved 40 wins. Jean Pierre and Doug both finished with 36 wins, 4 wins short

S78 Predictions:

Now we get onto this seasons predictions. We will continue to predict 3 goalies even though only one achieved it last season. Who are our picks for this season?
In no specific order, this is who we believe will achieve the goal.

Ajay Krishna:

Once again Ajay is on our list. He had a solid season in S77 and looks to be continuing on the right path this season. Ajay already is halfway to the goal as he has hit 23 wins in 29 games. Having a solid team in front of him has helped him be the frontrunner once again to hit the 40 mark. We believe Ajay will be one of the few rare goalies who will hit 40 wins 3 seasons in a row.

Ajay has been consistent and is currently one of the better goalies in the league. I will have to look into how many goalies have consecutively reached 40+ wins, but that will have to be in another article.

Rara Rasputin: @Victor

First time gracing our list, Rara was 3 games short last season with 37. This year he looks like he is back with vengeance and wants to break the 40+ win mark for the first time in his career. With 20 wins to his name already in just 28 games, Rara is another frontrunner to hit our goal. Rara has been steadily improving each season and plays for the defending champions. With continued training and focus, we can see Rara having no problems this season.

Rara wanted to be on the list last season and now he has a chance to prove that he belongs on this inclusive list.

We feel very confident with the above 2 picks and for our final pick we are going to go with an off the chart pick and a goalie that recently announced his retirement.

Our 3rd pick will be Jacob Tonn  @MexicanCow123

This is not the first time Jacob
has been on our list and he has achieved an impressive 46 wins only 2 seasons ago. Jacob announced that he will be retiring at the end of this season and we believe he will go out with a bang. He has the experience and dedication to hit the 40 win mark but he will have to get help from his London defense. If they can limit the amount of shots on net, Jacob should have no problem squeaking in 40 by the end of the season. He is currently at 18 wins with 30 games played.
