1. BOOM! We just moved up 4 of our picks to mid 2nd and 3rd rounders. This is going to (hopefully) let us bring on some folks that just need to learn the ropes to become some stellar talents. What were some things that you wish you knew when you were first starting that we could maybe pass on?

2. Once again, we saw Houston Bulls players being picked up in the draft like some cute puppies at an a adopt-a-thon. With Johnny Tsunami going 18th overall to Davos and Hulk Smash and Tommy Longpre each going to Prague in the 3rd round. Where would you want to be drafted? High expectations at #1 or coast at #20+?

3. Nucks or Oilers? If the game already happened, then who is gonna win of that, the winner or Dallas?

4. Florida or NY? Why Florida?

5. The names for Utah somehow keep getting worse as time goes on. So inevitably, once they decide on a terrible name, they'll have to decide on some terrible new threads. Do they keep the light blue trend going or do they maybe incorporate some new colors we haven't seen in the league? Suggestions?

6. This week, we're talking comfort food. Something where when you have a bad day, you get yourself a big heaping plate of whatever this food is, and you're immediately placated. What is it? For me it's beef tips, gravy, white rice and cornbread. (Can you tell I'm from the South?)

1. The season is starting on Wednesday May 29th! S94 is right around the corner and Houston's roster is filling up everyday. How is our team looking heading into week 1? Will our forward heavy roster come out flying?

2. A lot of new players entered Houston's locker room after this draft. Three free agents signed, as well as four waivers! For the veterans, what is your advice to a new player entering the locker room for the first time? For the rookies and new players, what does it feel like walking into a new locker room for the first time? What does it feel like entering Houston's?

3. NHL playoffs, let's keep the discussions going. Who do you think will make the Cup finals? NYR leads FLA 2-1, EDM plays DAL tonight in a 1-1 tied series.

4. I was recently hired as the league's Fantasy Manager! Have you ever tried Fantasy tasks? We do a weekly Pick 'Em for the VHL/VHLE/VHLM, if you would like to be added to that ping list please let me know!

5. May is almost over and that means the summer times are really starting. If you were on the team last season, you know I LOVE SUMMER!! What are your plans for this summer? Do you have a favourite season that isn't summer?

1. The team is looking great! Forward depth is great but I think defence is a big part of the playoffs so making sure our roster is equally deep is very important.

2. For all the rookies, be social, complete as many TPE tasks as possible and have fun!

4. I've never tried fantasy tasks but I'd be willing to give it a try.

5. Summer is the best season fs, I'll be working mostly but ill try to enjoy it as much as possible.

1. The season is in full swing and so far we're right in the middle of the pack. Would you think it's better to coast to playoffs, or fight for the number 1 spot the whole season?

2. Everyone has something that they find difficult or don't understand about the league. What's one thing that you would say you need 'help' with or just want to better understand about the VHL?

3. THE STANLEY CUP IS SET! Edmonton v Florida - who ya got?

4. Now that a Florida team has made the finals for the past 5 years in a row, do you think it's time that we do a special game in South Florida like the Stadium Series?

5. What's in your ideal Tornado survival kit? I got hit by one over the past week and it wasn't fun to deal with.

6. Last week, I couldn't do the Presser, so I entrusted @AJW to do it. Unfortunately he did not ask a food question as the last question and so I would like to submit my most humble apologies for his lack of diligence. With that said, what is your preferred steak doneness? (Med rare? Well done?) and what are your ideal sides for a steak night?

1. I think we have a good shot at climbing this leaderboard. The start of our schedule has been tough but the season is very long.

2. I feel like I know all, but there will always be someone who knows more than me.

3. Edmonton, sorry buddy.

4. I think that's a great idea! Any way of expanding the sport is a plus and I'm sure a lot of people down there would love to see more of the game.

5. Underground bunker with a couple boxes of cheeze-its and a lot of water. I also need some board games or something to play. Weed and liquor maybe as well?

6. I fully apologize, it totally slipped my mind. I like a med-rare to med-well I'm not 100% sold on a specific doneness.

1. I think the emphasis on a #1 seed really depends on if there's a bye rewarded for it. If not, less of an incentive to go "all-in" and play more conservatively with acquisitions and cap management.
2. I think for me I just need to really get in the groove of making sure I'm taking advantage of the TPE opprtunities I'm able and wanting to do. hate missing TPE on easy claims I could do in 30 sec.
3. Florida, take revenge for us brokenhearted Stars fans!
4. Florida man does Florida series, would be a fitting theme for sure.
5. A lawn chair, a cold beer, and my phone to record me getting sucked in the "suck zone".

I have never seen a tornado, or have ever been within a 100kms of one

I love steak.  Zero chance I could ever be vegan.  I've in fact even done a full carnivore diet.  Steak I like medium rare-medium.  My favorite cut is a rib steak but I do not discriminate,  I will eat all cuts!

5. The Capitals bought CapFriendly and they intend on shutting the site down so other teams don't get an advantage. Kind of a dick move, right?

6. Sometimes you just have a really bad day. We all have that dish that can easily bring us the warmest comfort. For me it's grilled onions, thinly sliced steak, over a bed of white rice and some yummy sherry reduction over the top. What's your comfort dish?

-- I think I've been getting lucky with my scoring this season, I almost have more points than penalties at this point in the season.

 

2. Kind of a random question, but do you think 200 TPE is enough time for someone to enjoy the minor leagues? Should it increase? Decrease?

-- 200 is perfectly fine in my opinion, it lets you build up a surplus to apply right when you move up to the E which seems to require a bit of dumping into specific attributes.

 

3. FLORIDA!!!!! FLORIDAAAAA!!!!!! Why is Darnell Nurse paid so much?

-- give 3 guys a pile of money and hope the others you can afford will help them. 

 

4. In cricket news: The US National Cricket team beat the Pakistani National team this past weekend. That would be like if the Guatemalan National Hockey Team beat Canada or Finland. Are there any big upsets in sports history that stick out to you most?

-- '99 Stanley Cup Final. enough said

1. Looks like we’ve had a tough schedule but hopefully some line changes will help. My player in the VHL brings luck by slamming a couple pre-game beers.

 

2. I think it’s great. I was only able to experience the 250 TPE cap once and it was fine as well. Seems like 200 is a lot easier to achieve in one season if you want to move up to the E.

 

3. 3-1 series, I really don’t see Edmonton coming back. What a great run though!

HOUSTON BULLS PRESSER!

Hello and welcome to this weeks Houston Bulls Presser! Please answer each question to your best ability.

Answer three questions for 1 capped TPE or six questions for 2 capped TPE!
For the Week Ending June 23rd, here are your questions!

 

1. This week is Theme Week, which means if you write a 500-word article or make a graphic related to the theme, you'll get 12 TPE instead of the normal 6!! Wouldn't you know it, this weeks theme is the VHLM - maybe make an article or graphic about us! Do you think that making an article or a graphic would be harder? Would you want to try it out? 

2. The sims are looking up, but with the trade deadline approaching - we do want some input! If you were in our shoes, would you buying or selling at the deadline?

3. Edmonton coming back heavy with an 8-goal game! Do the Panthers go for the Gentleman's sweep to end it in Florida or does Edmonton push them all the way to 7?

4. The Utah Hockey Club is official for it's first few years and we got the logo and jersey...it's certainly one of the jerseys of all time. There's also apparently a rebrand coming for the Wild and the Ducks. Are any other teams in need of a rebrand?

5. Man it is MUY CALIENTE out there. How does your player beat the heat?

6. We all have one. Don't deny it. What's your shame food? Mine is pickled onions on a peanut butter sandwich. Don't knock it til you try it.

1. Truthfully I don't think I've done a whole PT in my other leagues in such a long time, nor written a carefully thought out and planned media in such a long time, that I think I am capable of doing an article, especially in a sport I don't understand at a high level. Sad times
2. At 25-16, the playoffs look reachable, and buying here should only really be done if it'll lead to sustainable success beyond this season alone.
3. C'mon Florida please give Edmonton hell!!!!

4. Yeah, force Utah to go back to Arizona with new ownership and bring back the Yotes! 
5. Being from Texas, this heat is quite literally HOME for me. Gib more heat pls.

1. A graphic is easier than an article, but Articles are much more rewarding. 
2. In a developmental league, I’m never really a proponent of rebuilding. I’d always be pushing to win now.

3. I expect it will be a gentleman’s sweep, but I’m not much of a NHL fan.

4. Probably not. But again, I don’t know much or anything about NHL hockey. Tis funny that the Blackhawks are still a thing.

5. Sunscreen and water. Life can be tough in the heat, but I mean, he’s a professional hockey player, so he’s on ice most of the time anyway.

6. Frozen burritos and apples sauce… it works, I don’t know why
