a tale of two Brothers // Still no games for Daniel

As the title of the article indicates, Daniel's team is still under quarantine protocol due to already mentioned reasons. We called the Swiss native at his brother's place where he was visiting Marcel @Morcar80, when the bad news struck.

Daniel: 'Luckily, I was still at my brother's place when the news of the VHLE's shutdown reached me. Since I was not effected by the virus, I called around to find some team where I can do some icetraining to stay in shape. Fortunately, my former GM N0HBDY @N0HBDY at Mississauga agreed to let me participate in the Hounds' icetraining, however in exchange for some help in the backoffice, as Viper @Viperstepped down. Since I do have the equivalent of an MBA, I agreed to this quid pro quo deal. So at the moment I do draft contracts and help with the analysis of the stats. This is a good example, why it is always good to leave a team in good terms'

Now to the hockey that actually WAS played:

Marcel had two games, the first of which was against his former team the Reapers. This game was lost 2-1 with Crumb @Crummer77 (Logue) being the only scorer for the 21st. The three stars were Jarvinen @Collusion (35 saves), Salo (1g/0a) @Infernal and Crumb (1g/0a). Both goalies performed well, but Jarvinen (.972) was on a different level than McGleis @lukechezzwoo (.900). Halifax' power play was underwhelming (0/10) to say the least and was only in parts compensated by the perfect penalty kill (4/4).

Marcel had 0g, 0a, -2 and 25:19 TOI (highest of his team) to his name

The second match was against Ottawa and was also a loss, this time 5-3. Halifax scored three goals within less than 15 minutes but were also scored against twice in that time. The scorer for Halifax were Leblanc @Horcrux(Hagel), Leblanc (McMuffin, AL) in power play and Jorgen Von Strangle @Timmy Turner (Staal). Unfortunately, the Nova Scotians could not sustain their scoring pace and allowed three goal in eight minutes in the final period. This was the coup de grace and Halifax was not able to react anymore. The three stars of the game were Pearce @Laine (1g/1a), Leblanc (2g/0a) and Romain @Is_thatok (1g/0a). The netminders competed on an okay-ish level with Martello @Deathblooms(.898) outperforming Ed Nu @npuBeT(.864). The special teams were okay as well with the penalty kill being 6/8 and the power play 1/4.

Marcel was reported with 0g, 0a, +0, 2 PIM (Hooking, no goal scored against during Marcel's stay in the sinbin), 3sb (tied first) and 25:39 minutes played (highest of his team)

Marcel stands at 8gp, 0g, 6a, 6pts, -7, 6 PIM, 8 Hits and 14 shots blocked.

Meanwhile, the Wranglers (the Janser's VHL team) is doing exceptionally well and is on top of the North American Conference but is trailed by the Legion who has a game in hand (and is the only team who records a longer win streak (6) than the Calgary team (5)). It is interesting to see, that the Wranglers have more than one horse in the race (pun intended) when it comes to scoring. At the moment it looks like the Ontarians are a contender for the Victory Cup. We wish Ricer's @Ricer13 all the best for the season.

We will follow up with updates as soon as same are available.

REVIEW:

Have you not played any VHLE games yet? Or am I misunderstanding/this is just for the story? Either way, a nice article summarizing the games that you have played and the games that the Wranglers have played so far. Also a nice touch to @ the members of the other players so they get the shout out. Overall, a solid article with just enough formatting.

8/10

Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. At the time I wrote the article we kind of played 6 games, but since something went awry with the free agents of Oslo and Geneva, these games were decided to be resimmed. It apparently took some time to get it fixed and now we are 10 games into the season...
