The winner of the Mitch Higgins Trophy for Most Valuable Player is awarded to the player deemed to be the VHLM's most valuable player during the regular season. The winner of this season’s award is an extremely talented and skilled forward, one who was a star shining in the league all season. This player helped Las Vegas reach the top of their conference in the regular season and paved the way for the playoffs. This player has already won two awards tonight as well for leading the league in points and assists. The winner of the Mitch Higgins Trophy is:

Ryan Sullivan Trophy - Top Defenseman

 

The winner of the Ryan Sullivan Trophy for Top Defenseman is awarded to the player deemed to be the VHLM’s top defenseman during the regular season. The winner of this season’s award found themself ranked in the top of the league for the three big categories when it comes to defenseman: Points by Defenseman, Hits, and Shots Blocked. This player showed strong defensive skill throughout S81 and led the Houston Bulls to a sweet third seed in the league standings.

Benoit Devereux Trophy - Top Goaltender

 

The winner of the Benoit Devereux Trophy for Top Goaltender is awarded to the player deemed to be the VHLM’s top goaltender during the regular season. The winner of this season’s award found themself ranked in the top of the league for the four big categories when it comes to goaltenders: Wins, Goals Against Average, Save %, and Shutouts. This player was a brick wall between the pipes, winning 42 of 56 games played and leading Las Vegas to a Conference championship.

Mat Bentz Trophy - Top Two-Way Forward

 

The winner of the Mat Bentz Trophy for Top Two-Way Forward is awarded to the player deemed to be the VHLM’s top two-way forward during the regular season. The winner of this season’s award handled the defensive aspects of the game as well as the offensive aspects to the top level of the league. This player led the charge for the Mississauga Hounds this season and was the key factor to their success. This player already won an award tonight for leading the league in goals as well.

Skylar Rift Trophy - Playoff MVP

 

The winner of the Skylar Rift Trophy for Playoff MVP is awarded to the player deemed the to be the VHLM’s most valuable player in the playoffs. The winner of this season’s award led their team to a deep playoff run and a Founder’s Cup Finals appearance. Although they did not lift the cup this season, their efforts and talents did not go unnoticed. This player led the league in points and assists through the playoffs and has already taken home some hardware tonight.

Jack Reilly Trophy - Top General Manager

 

The winner of the Jack Reilly Trophy for Top General Manager is awarded to the general manager deemed to be the best in the VHLM this season. This member was an intelligent person when it came to being a general manager. This member was known as a trade god: someone who could win any trade, with anyone. This member’s general managing talents have been noticed throughout many leagues and has received a promotion to take over the HC Davos Dynamo organization in the VHL next season. We will miss you in the VHLM, but we would like to congratulate you before you leave.
