Review: S96, Game 7 - Riga Reign 2 - 0 London United

The defending Continental Cup champion Riga Reign opened their S96 season with a tilt against a conference rival, the London United, but not without controversy as star goaltender Red Panda @Lemorse7 was nowhere to be seen during training camp. The Reign swamped London early, outshooting them 18-5 and making a couple of those shots count. Riga’s Kimi Raikkonen @mattyIceman potted their first of the season at 10:08 with assists from Axle Gunner @Steve and Mark Calaway @Beketov. Then with London’s Jacob Smith Jr @jacobaa19 in the penalty box, Riga’s power play only needed 12 seconds to strike with Lucy Leitner’s @LucyXpher point shot finding twine with assists from Dan jr @Danzo and Fradin McGryer @Fradin99. That was all the scoring that the Reign needed as (possible new starter) B-RIG G2 stopped all of London’s 19 shots for the shutout.  London’s Kendra Cavill @Firekiss did everything possible to keep the United in the game by making 37 saves. Gunner led all skaters with 11 shots while Steve French @Seabass and Alexandros Mograine @sliceruser led the United with four shots each.
