Baby Boomer 835 Posted Monday at 01:08 AM Share Posted Monday at 01:08 AM The European Conference is pretty weird right now as almost half the teams are in a rebuilding stage and only one team has the roster of a real Cup contender. The other teams are in between or in the direction of being a Cup contender, but are not ready yet. My predictions are only based on what I think the standings will look like at the end of the season and are not based on any stats or calculations I made. 1. HC Davos Dynamo The first place is in my opinion really easy to give as the Dynamo are the only team in the European Conference that can call themself a real contender right now. With players like Antonia Bucatini @CowboyinAmerica, Felicia Hardy @JCarson and Jorgen Lovstrom @Pifferfish, Davos is definitely the best team in the European Conference and finishing anything below first in the standings is going to be a huge disappointment. 2. Prague Phantoms Even if the Prague Phantoms are in my opinion not a Cup contender yet, they are really close to being one of the best team in the league. Indeed, they are maybe missing a 3rd or 4th forward and a good 2nd defenseman to complete the defense. In the meantime, Erik Thorvaldsson @Tetricide and Lucy Leitner @LucyXpher are both going to be really important offensively and defensively. 3. London United With the addition of The Phantom of the VHL @Hogan and Ahsoka Tano @Aimee, the London United are slowly, but surely starting to become a Cup contender. With all their young players, they will be one of the best team in the league in a season or two. 4. Moscow Menace The Moscow Menace are a really weird team as they only have three forwards and I don't really know what to expect of that team. They still have really good players like Maverick Goncalves @leandrofg and Jillian Woods @jacobcarson877, so I still think that Moscow can finish in the top three of the Conference if they acquire two or three forwards. 5. Malmo Nighthawks The Malmo Nighthawks had a pretty weird off-season as they signed Gianfranco Del Rocco @Victor and Grimgor Ironhide @FrostBeard, the two biggest free agent of the off-season. Before these signings, Malmo was in the run for the last place in the league, but now, they could make the playoffs. 6. Helsinki Titans The next three teams are the three teams in the European Conference that won't make the playoffs, but I am still not sure of their place in the standings. With seven forwards and only one defenseman, the Titans definitely have a weird roster. 7. Warsaw Predators The Warsaw Predators are continuing their rebuild and are starting to see some young players entering the roster as Zak Trokker @Peace and Peter Venkman @Josh are going to play their rookie seasons with the Predators in S99. 8. Riga Reign Finally, after five really good seasons and a Continental Cup in S95, the Riga Reign are starting a rebuild and will without any surprise finish at the bottom of the Conference and at the bottom of the league. So I have them out of the playoffs unless Moscow can figure out how to double shift everyone and cover up for the Zero Bots.
