Toast 887 Posted October 5, 2015 Share Posted October 5, 2015 The VHL has had a straight forward playoff system since the expansion teams were introduced. The top placed team gets a bye through the first round while the second and third seeds are left to battle for the right to move on. But what if that were to change? For this week's Power Poll, we'll look at a possible change that in no way is being discussed by the board, but is a cool idea nonetheless. What if four teams were to make the playoffs? With how close the competition is in the European conference, seeing four very strong teams make it to the post-season would probably create a lot fun for the post-season. Then there is an example like the current North American conference where we would see a team getting through to the playoffs even though they have no business being there. Assuming that we would see the first seed take on the bottom seed, then it would essentially be as if the top team was getting a bye anyways. So, what do you all think? Would it be worth the possible change for more excitement come the post-season, or should a change not even be considered? With just one team not making the playoffs in this format, it would probably make the regular season even more of a drag for some. Anyways, comment with your votes! But having 8 of the 10 teams making it every year is too many, in my opinion.
