Minnesota gets their 10th straight win. When they got their 9th straight they tied a franchise record. They asked Bruce Boudreau about it after that game and he said the following:

"Tying is like kissing your sister. Getting it is better".

WHAT?

So. Thinking Halak has played his last NHL game after being waived? Seems like he might get bought out, and if that happens, I would think the KHL would be looking pretty sexy rn

I wouldn't write him off yet. Considering the issues with some teams having injured goalie, his contract looks good to a team against the cap. He isn't a bad goaltender overall (not stellar) but NY Isles play so wide open that they allow so many defensive issues. The only reason they are not bottom of the league is because they've scored a respectable amount of goals.

I'm not doubting his ability, i have no doubt that he is a NHL caliber goalie. I'm just wondering, if he gets bought out, and can't get anything close to his current 4.5 mil, if money is an issue would he go overseas where he could get paid like a star?

Why buy him out when his contract makes him easy bait for back up goalie in expansion draft.

Surprising everybody, the Canucks are riding a 6 game winning streak, riding off of amazing performances by Ryan Miller.

Hell, tonight they were outshot 46-13 and won 4-2.

Also...the Leafs were outshot 32-14 and won 4-1 tonight. Devils outshot them 14-0 in the 3rd alone.

I somewhat expect the Canucks to lose tomorrow, considering it's a back to back and they're probably playing Markstrom...although Markstrom has been pretty solid as well. Who knows?

Every Canadian team is in a playoff spot right now except for Winnipeg. It's nice to see that for once.

I highly doubt the Canucks make the playoffs though they seem to be on a high right now. The Horvat/Baerschi/Burrows line has been killing it lately and the Sutter/Granlund/Ericksson line has been pretty solid. Combine two lines going on all cylinders with the incredible play of Miller (Markstrom has been solid too) you're gonna win some games.

Coach WD really grinds my gears at times, last night the Canucks needed some offensive spark and there you have the perfect player to change the game in Anton Rodin. But, no, WD had other plans and decided not to play him for a single fucking shift last night. Instead he has players like Megna (a fourth liner who has been playing with the sedins????) on the PP instead of Rodin who was over a PPG last season in the SHL.

Anton Rodin is not a game changer haha. He may tuck his jersey in and have above average skating ability, but the is not a game changer. Horvat is the closest thing that team has to a game changer.

Rodin can make plays and actually hit the net. His assets are his offensive abilities and thats what the Canucks were lacking last night. I can go on for days all the questionable things WD has done since becoming coach. All other 29 coach's in the league I am sure would play Rodin over Megna (or anybody on the fourth line).

Can he? What sort of statistics can you base that around? His 0 career goals? I mean I'll be honest it's not that bad but it doesn't look like a high number. I thin I would agree that WD has been very sloppy, but I can't agree about Rodin. He was drafted in 2009 and has literally not had his SHL career translate into anything overseas (aka here). Even his AHL numbers are subpar for a "guy known for offensive abilities". I think you kind of just like the look of him out there and didn't really look into his actual abilities.

Corey Locke had great offensive abilities as well, but go look at his statistics on google and tell me what you think.

Clean as it gets. Welcome to the NHL as far as I'm concerned, sucks that he's hurt but it's a man's game.

I just don't see the case for it being dirty. The person to blame for Laine's concussion is a lateral pass in the no-no zone where defenders step up or back off. McCabe stepped up and got him.

I think that Atlantic D is better than the Metro D. Also the West decided this year it would elect a weaker pair of squads than the East haha
