I feel like I hit the new low in doing PT's. I'm so damn lazy to think something and write 500 words, but luckily for me, @eaglesfan036 gave me an easy topic to get 6 TPE. Bow down to him!

 

So he stepped down, because he can't find the motivation anymore and that means I'll make a little research and name some users that could take this team.

 

 

 

@DollarAndADream - The first user that popped up in my mind. First of all, he said he's ready to take any VHL team. Also, he was endorsed by the league veteran @Kendrick, so that says something. He already has a GM exprience from other league and I think he will do a good job here as well. His activity is on point and he has a grading job already. Might be a favorite for Calgary GM position.

 

Someone from blue team - We don't have to go far to find the most recent VHL team's takeover by the blue team member. @Higgins took Helsinki in S51(?) off-season to save that franchise, but now the question is - does @Will wants to be a GM again? Also, I don't think @JardyB10 wants to go out from Ottawa, so seems like this option isn't plausible. But still...

@solas - I didn't hear anything about the GM'ing from him. But he's an active member, so anything is possible;

Flyersfan - he said he has too little time to do something more than he is doing right now. He even stepped down from VHLM Commish job; I assume he's not going to apply for any job anytime soon;

@Mr.Baller - he was more active with Rathod, I don't see him going for this position;

 

@Kendrick -  Well, he publicly endorsed DAAD for the GM position, but he also said he's about to apply for any team soon. But maybe this is going to happen in this off-season? Kohler still is in Calgary, although the long-time updater said he's going to test FA waters. I still tend to believe he's considering about taking Calgary.

 

Someone else - I have no idea who else wants to take the Wranglers, so it could be interesting if this happens.

 

 

Conclusion - I think DAAD is the first option with Kendrick being close second. We can't overlook the last option as well, probably there's at least one member who already applied for the GM spot.

 

 

Another thing that is unclear - Calgary's future. In last season they gave a tight fight against the NYA powerhouse even without the depth and I thought they are going to make another shot at the Continental Cup. But with Koponen and Weinstein's retirement + Kohler and Velvet (?) going to FA seems like this team is going through rebuild. I still believe this team can contend if they'll find a goalie to attract FA's, but that's the future GM's problem to solve.

No it wasn't about contracting, only short sided people want that. Mine was referencing a league change of another sort. But I messaged them Jan 15th and i haven't seen one response so I will take it as a "No".

For what it's worth, it was more or less mine if I wanted it. But I can't really take a full on GM position right now, knowing about some time consuming things coming up in my life. I'll be able to update players and whatnot, but I just don't want to take a GM helm at the moment.

 

Hell, CGY GM could have been mine way back when diamond_ace was GM and I had Travis Boychuk there. He wanted to hand it over to me, but I didn't want it. I think I was offered Quebec by brovy as well, but that might not have been concrete.

 

One day I'll be the GM of something. I'm sure I'm probably making a bigger deal of me getting a new job than I need to. I'll probably still have enough time to do whatever.
