Answers:

1. I am a frequent Black Friday sucker for sales. I usually find some sites if you bulk buy will mess up your order in a good way.... For example a couple of sites tend to send multiple items or something I didn't order in addition to what I ordered and they never come back to charge me for the extra goods. I'm able to get extra gifts for other people out of it or a little something extra for myself. Not all black Friday sales are great but there are a couple good deals here and there.

 

2. I used to do a bit of both since my office building was above a mall but I found in store shopping deals in Canada were not that great. Now that I work from home I just do everything online. 

 

3. This is tough... I have too many recipes I really love to make for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Here are a few of my favorites:

Cranberry and Orange Sauce

Pumpkin Pie Cheese Cake

*Not listed but I've got a really great recipe for homemade cream of corn and banana cake with brown butter icing, shoot me a message if you want it

 

@Triller's Family Sugar Cookie Recipe:

Beat 1 cup soften margarine or unsalted butter and 1 cup sugar together. 

Then add 2 eggs and 1 1/2 tsp vanilla and beat.  

Measure out 3 cups flour into a separate bowl and add 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1/2 tsp baking powder to the flour.  Slowly mix dry ingredients into the wet.  If the cookie dough is too stiff,  keep adding a tbsp of milk to mixture until it is soft, but still firm enough to form a ball.  Refrigerate covered dough for 1/2 hour.  Then put very small amount of flour onto rolling area and roll out some dough.  If it sticks to rolling pin again sprinkle a small amount of flour on top of the rolling pin.  If needed you can dip the cookie cutters into the flour so the cookies didn't stick to the cutters.  Line pans with parchment paper, if you don't have parchment paper to put your cookies on make sure you sprayed the pans with something like Pam before putting the cookies on them.  Bake for about 10 minutes in a 350F oven.  If the bottoms are just tan, the cookies will stay softer. If the bottoms are dark brown, cookies will be crunchier. We prefer a softer cookie with less crunch so we bake for 10 minutes. Cool and freeze if you want and ice later or ice same day when cool.

 

Sugar Cookie Icing Recipe

For icing check out this website. It explains everything and has the recipe we use each year for these.  Let the icing dry on the cookies and then separated layers of cookies with wax paper or parchment paper so they would not stick.

 

*Notes: Iced Cookies can be stored on your countertop for a few days in an air tight container. Or store them in the fridge or freezer for a longer period of time if you don't plan on eating them all at once!

What I love about these cookies is they are not overwhelmingly sweet, the icing can really punch up the sweetness though. If you're looking for less sweet when your doing the icing I'd suggest just drizzling several lines of icing across the cookies instead of fully filling them in with icing sugar. But what do I know, Triller enjoys them fully iced lol.

 

4. I don't know any more haha. It seems like Black Friday sales just blend into Cyber Monday and I didn't notice a difference on pricing for certain items between the two. 

 

5. No surprises for me at the moment. I think our team is playing the best we can and we have a solid roster going in.

 

6. I got no points because I didn't end up doing it this time around. Mostly because it is my players last season and retirement is next.

@Subject056 You made me hungry but it also could be the fact that it is about 5:30pm here and I still haven`t started cooking super so I am over here reading the forums and no getting hungry!!

 

I will try to sugar cookies recipe fore sure since I think I can get most of the ingredient here in Japan; without breaking the bank!! Sadly we don`t have full sized oven but rather a microwave that cooks like a oven so it might work!!

1. I was always positive with the direction the team was going, we were going to be finals bound, but I also felt that way last year too, so I was cautiously optimistic. 

 

2. Syko or Ningfingers

 

3. Bollos de Trueno gets my vote. Over 60 points as a defenseman, 130 SB. Helped on the defensive side immensely.

5. The whole team was energetic, everyone was contribution on and off the ice.

Of course I did.  We have an outstanding group of players and with Frank with his sidekick PMB, there isnt a better group of people.  This is going to be an easy cup win.

 

2.     Who has been the Vancouver Wolves Play-off MVP this season; so far?

 

Right now, I would have to say there are a few who could slap the award on their chest.  Logan Ninefingers is a rockstar who is dominating the offense.  Riley Martin is lighting things up and keeping us in games.  Olober Syko is the dominating factor keeping the puck out of the net.  Pick anyone of these three and you have a MVP.

 

3.     Looking ahead I guess to the end of the season since it will end either way later this week; who do you think was Vancouver Wolves Unsung Hero this season? Why?

 

I am going to go with Soju.  The reason I say that is there is some serious unselfishness going on with Soju who sat on the bench to allow Olober Syko step into his role as starting goalie.  Soju is a star goalie and has sacrificed playing time for the chance of Vancouver getting the cup.  Only thing is Soju didnt give himself enough credit, because it’s quite likely he could have led us by being in the net.  He will in the future though, for sure.

 

4.     Who was Vancouver MVP this season? Why?

 

Logan Ninefingers had a dynamite of a season and was probably the best all round player.  He put up good goals and assists, and won a shitload of face offs giving us chances to score.

 

5.     Who was the most energetic person this season? Why?

 

Riley Martin capitalized on all the opportunities he could and he skated around the ice doing everything asked of him, to include scoring goals, passing it off, and getting into scrapes with opponents.  Martin played like a ferret on steroids this season.

 

6.     Do you think you player will win any team awards at the end of the season?

 

You mean the awards that you come up with at the end of the season?  Absolutely.  Trueno is going to win the most useless player on the team.  He skated away from fights and he ducked when he should have blocked the puck, and instead of hitting players he skated close to them and then got out of their way to let them pass.

 

7.     Bonus: Are curses really or only made up to make it easier to take a disappointing result?  

 

Curses are justifiable reasons to provide less pain for a piss poor excuse.

Yes,  @Frank stuck with this club he built and thought we were playing well below our best last year.

Riley Martin 100%. @Smarch rebounded and was constantly near top 10 in league scoring all season.

King Kissinger @Kisslinger  Quietly deadly in the offensive zone but a +41 shows how committed he is defensively.  5 Game winners as well and he is clutch for us in close games.

Riley Martin hands down. 99 points and 240 hits.  Enough said.

1. Yes absolutely I knew we'd be in the finals because we are the best team and I've said it all season.

As I wake this morning and rub my sleepy eyes, I wake with a quick realization and run down the stairs to see if it is really true ….. Yup, We are still Continental Cup Champions!!!

It’s a sim league.  What can I say?  I guess it’d be like a slot machine where I missed the grand prize by one number, maybe get a do over because why?  I still dont understand but if a rule was broken, then fix it, and that is what happened.  It was fixed by a redo.

Tough one.  Could be Olober Syko, could be Riley Martin, could be Logan Ninefingers, or could be Guntis Gavilrovs.  I’d go with the tough guy Guntis.

 

3.     With lift the cup at the end of the season we also sadly see the retirement of three players; Skyo, Slater & Wheeler. Who are you going to miss the most? why?

 

Well, definitely not Wheeler.  He left whiskey bottles all over the locker room.  Syko, he doesnt drive to work anymore so no road rage stories from him…. I think I’ll miss Slater the most.  She was a dedicated Wolve through and through

Yes…. No way Trueno deserves best defenseman, Guntis Gavilrovs was a work horse on D and dominated the blue line.  Not to mention Guntis knocked the shit out of opponents and the refs targeted him.

Are you kidding, of course we can.  With Soju in goal and the goal scorers we got on the attack, it’s a no brainer.  Repeat…

1. Kind of shocked that Davos was so concerned the simmer was cheating they asked for a re-sim. 

 

2. The team should win the award as everyone contributed. 

 

3. All of them. Slater most as she was with the team since I joined the roster. 

 

4. I'm surprised I lead the team in hits, didn't look into that this season. 

 

5. I hope we can. Hasn't been a back to back winner since the Wolves did the three peat meta, so its hard to repeat in the hybrid era.

1. As cup champions I was never worried having to sim another game 5, I knew we'd win because we are the best! But yeah we shouldn't have had to. 

 

2. Everyone played great I could choose anyone but will go with Riley Martin, he scored he most points in the playoffs and reg season

 

3. All great players who will be greatly missed. I played with Liv Slater my entire career so I'd have to say will miss them the most, a good friend of mine on and off the ice. Wheeler was solid too, good player and always a good sport in the room. Syko was clutch from the moment he arrived. Just all around great players and people, I want to thank them all!

 

4. All very deserving, especially my guy Bollos de Trueno winning Dman of the year, he really deserved it and I was happy to see him get it. Nothing really surprised me, we have a great team and could literally give awards to everyone! 

 

5. I think we have a good chance to defend even with losing some key players. Our GM's did a great job filling he holes in the off-season and keeping a great core on offense and defense and of course we have a top goalie. 

 

6. I will have a huge party in Latvia with all my friends and family and bring the cup to my old rink I grew up playing in and skate it around the ice with my first coach Gulbis Galvins.

Just gotta laugh. But glad we won 3 straight.

It's going to be a tough one I feel like Martin @Smarchshould get it he led the team in points and Davos didn't force a game 7 even though they had sone impressive players as well.

Slater just because of longevity and loyalty. The franchise owes her a debt.

yep.  With Ninefingers and Payne.   On the same club and we’re in 1st so fun to seem them both on the box score.  Payne has two fights so happy.

1. I believe I said welcome to them in the LR and I believe they are now in the side of the milk carton for missing people.

 

2. I don't know what the Pro Am is, I hear the guys talking about it in the LR though

 

3. I was unfortunately selected for the World Cup. I wished the VHL had an opt out option, as I didn't want to go.
