2. Are you participating in any offseason tournaments this time around?

I am GM for the JST Warriors with Alex as my AGM. We are pretty even with wins and losses so far.

I am also in the ProAm. I haven't been drafted yet, but I'm excited to improve on a personal level from last season. 

 

3. Besides Davos, which VHL logo do you think is the best and why?

I like Chicago's logo. The colour combination and the shapes makes it really appealing to me.

 

4. If the VHL had an All-Star game, should rosters be decided by fantasy draft or by conference?

I think by fantasy draft. That way players can learn more about the cities from the other conference.

 

5. Was the VHL the first sim league you ever joined? If not, what was your first?

It was. I have only been here a few months, but I feel like it is something that I'd like to do for a long time.

 

6. The offseason is off to a rocketing start! Thoughts on Davos’ moves so far by acquiring Ben Laas and UghSike?

I think Alex is making some great moves. It shows that he really want to make a push for the playoffs and beyond.

Samsayz I-Smell has been really active in the community since joining. I think he would be a great addition to the team.

When you're screwed by the airlines and just sitting on a plane, let's do a press conference!

 

1. I had all my chips on Toronto, but I'm happy for Moscow. It's been a long time coming, and I know from experience it's tough to lose so much like that.

 

2. I don't think I am actually, wasn't selected for the World Cup and I'm not a big pro am person. But that's ok, I wouldn't mind a little time off to just chill and recharge my VHL batteries.

 

3. I'm usually partial to the original teams, but I do have to admit that Malmo's gets me. Not just the logo, but the color scheme too.

 

5. It wasn't, that was a football league long long ago. But as somebody who was in said league when the VHL started, it's still so wild to me that the VHL has lasted so long.

 

6. I'm a big fan! Laas has played excellently in DC, and he's a great locker room presence. And while Sike has gone a bit MIA recently, enjoyed being with him in Oslo and hope he comes back soon.

 

8. I'm hoping for a few more wins, maybe a playoff spot. My personal stats exceeded all expectations last year, but I'd love to see more on the team side.

I am in the Junior Showcase Tournament! It will be enough for this offseason.

I would like a draft like the NHL did one time! Mix the players a bit, would be fun.

 

5. Was the VHL the first sim league you ever joined? If not, what was your first?

I joined the SHL first and this one after, I only have hockey leagues.

Don't really know them, but if they make the team better in the short term while the prospects are coming up I have no problem with it.

2. I am! I am in pro-am and the Junior showcase tournament! Thought the records of my two teams are polarizing 

 

3. That’s a tough one, Malmo and Vancouver are definitely up there for me. The dragon/nighthawk for Malmo makes it a beautiful logo with an amazing colour scheme but I really like the simplicity of the Vancouver wolf.

 

4. I think it would make more sense to be by conference, however for the sake of fun I think a fantasy draft would be better in this context

 

5. Yes it was! I first came in the VHL through a YouTube video. I did end up joining a basketball league but didn’t last long in it.

 

7. Me a year early! Jokes aside I’m not too sure about the draft class for this year, though Spider Panda looks great, and it’s Ricer so it’ll never be bad (I have no idea what pick Davos has for reference)

 

8. I wish to be able to get up to 300+ TPE and go near the top of the draft for the VHL

I knew they had a strong team, but I generally consider US/Canada the favorites so I appreciate when somebody else wins a medal. Congrats to them!

 

2. What have you done to pass the time this offseason?

A little time off and vacation. Everybody needs to decompress for a bit, and I like getting my head right before a new season.

 

3. As per tradition, what is your bold prediction for Davos this season?

Another Davos player is going to win rookie of the year. It could be any of Tsunami, Stefano, Hardy or AKK, but I do believe we'll see a breakout from at least one.

 

4. What record do you think Davos will end with in S95?

More wins than losses and a playoff (probably wild card) position. Not a crazy prediction, but I do expect to see us take another step forward this season.

 

5. In your opinion, who is the best player in the VHL right now?

I think we're close to seeing a sea change once a lot of these S87 players retire. I'll still say it's Jimi Jaks for now, but I'm excited for when the next generation really starts to take charge.

I like to ask the question: Is every sandwich a hot dog? I mean, a lot of them contain meat, in a specifically molded shape, with bread around it. That also describes every hot dog I've ever had. Really makes you think.

Had a feeling but didnt pull the trigger for them to win.  Should have gone my gut.  Probably would have liked the extra tpe!

I prefer to get extremely intoxicated and pick up hookers.  JK.  I spent the offseason waiting for the season to start.  IRL seems like I spent a lot of time making the front lawn look like the infield of fenway park.

Well, seeing that I crashed this press conference and hope that David Jokinen and Bollos de Trueno can start a friendly rival, I’m going to boldly predict that Davos is in the cellar this season.

If you look at the answer to the question above,  you know I have to say that Davos will be lucky to win 15 games this season.

 

5. In your opinion, who is the best player in the VHL right now?

 

Thats easy.  Mark Calaway.   He has been the best player for a few seasons and has been disrespected by not getting the accolades he deserves.  

 

6. Do you have a role model in the league? If so, who is it?

 

There are a few who I think are really good in the league and have consistently been very good at promoting the league.  I’d have to say that I think Spartan, Alex, Beketov, Frank, Victor, Smarch, triller, Lucyxpher, Rory, all do a really good job.  And thats just naming a few.  There are several others, and many more whom I know little about.

A hot dog is not a sandwich.  I seldom put a hot dog in a bun.  Most of the time it is wrapped inside a flour tortilla.  Tortillas are in our breadbasket!!

It's playoff time, baby. Especially after a successful rookie year, I don't really have any personal goals. It's all about taking the next step as a team.

I'm pumped for how the draft went. Pastanap is not only a fellow pasta-based player, but could be a future linemate. Desjardins is a dedicated Davos player who I expect to be a teammate with for a long time. And could we have gotten the steal of the draft in Nathan Blaize? Certainly think there's a chance.

 

3. If a VHL award were to be named after your player, what statistic would it be awarded for?

I mean, I led the VHL in hits taken last season. It's not necessarily a good thing to be awarded for, but I'll take any hardware I can get, damn it.

 

5. What is the story behind your VHL username?

A long road back to when I was big into NFL Mock Drafts - at the time I was a Dallas Cowboys fan living in the Philadelphia area, thus CowboyinPhilly. But then I moved to Chicago, then a few places for internships, then Minnesota, so it just got easier to say America rather than changing it each time.

 

6. What is one thing you would implement to STHS if given the chance?

Let's let that morale bonus run wild. It's more fun that way, actually get some wild runs from teams and have the streak's influence continue from game to game.

 

7. Are you participating in VHFL this season?

I am! But I've also got two other Davos people in my group. So it's a goal for us to finish 1-2-3... and as long as I'm 1, I'll be good.

I want my player to stop being a big sissy and get some hits and block shots.  I wouldn’t mind dropping the gloves too.  And it doesnt matter if my player wins the fight, just as long as the opponent gets called for instigating and gets a game misconduct.  Now that’s being a team player!!

I did not pay any attention to the players Davos drafted, but I do know Alex and just because youre a familiar face, it doesnt mean you deserve to be on Davos, so if you were drafted by Davos, then that means that Alex has the confidence in you to do the job he wants you to do.

It would be the “Whiney Little Bitch Award” to the biggest whiner about his player being a sissy.

Defense defense defense.  What else is there?

 

5. What is the story behind your VHL username?

 

My name Sharky was taken so I had to come up with something to work with and came up with Thunder, planning on using Thunderdome as something, but turns out that is taken.  If i had to do it all over again I would have tried to figure out something relating to Sharky.

 

6. What is one thing you would implement to STHS if given the chance?

 

Add chemistry to it so that GM’s have to go deeper as a GM and figure out what is best for a line.

 

7. Are you participating in VHFL this season?

 

Yes of course.  I participate in anything I can that will give me some tpe.  There’s nothing better than earning 6 tpe for vhfl.  So I’ve heard.

 

8. Spotify or Apple Music?

 

I have apple subscription for cloud and all that, and it includes Apple Music.  I use that.  I dont listen to music on Spotify.

1. A new season is upon us! What is one goal you want to accomplish with your player for S95?

I will try to take the next step in my development so I will be ready for my rookie season in the VHL after that.

 

2. We have also just come off another exciting draft with some familiar faces joining the squad! Thoughts on Davos’ newest prospects?

They are the best! Lot of good people (myself include I think lol) so we are really building a dynastie over here.

Humm powerplay goals by a defenseman? Got 14 of them last season so not bad I think?

It's the same that I use everywhere ahah! So if you see it somewhere it's probably me!

 

7. Are you participating in VHFL this season?

No I did it in the past, but I don't follow the league enough to do it. I do the Coach Challenge instead.

I don't have a single thing/product with Apple so Spotify 100%.
