Clearly not that good, you scored 3 goals against him! Also, S49 vs S50, I'm not surprised. And that moment when VHLM finals have more bad blood than VHL.

need moar S50

Griezmann's not that underrated lol. Not to mention Koke and Saul, now Carrasco was a great signing, and some amazing defenders. I mean, it's pretty obvious they're doing something right. 2010 and 2012 Europa League, 2013 Spanish Cup, 2014 League and CL final, 2016 another shot at league and CL. Keeping up with Real and Barca for so long is an amazing achievement. I wonder what's next for Bayern. Ancelotti won the CL with Real after Mourinho lost in the semifinal 3 times so....

Oblak was great and yet another example of Atletico's excellent scouting (De Gea, Courtois...) but that doesn't give credit to the rest of the team. Plus any good keeper would have made the saves he did. I'd say without the away goals rule, both legs would be more defensive than either one as it is.
-
I enjoyed Muller and Torres taking the exact same penalty and not scoring either one. How many big saves did Oblak need to make though? Not many more than Neuer. Limiting the opposition to long range shots is exactly the purpose of a good defensive game plan. Granted, I don't think they were hugely comfortable. Inter against Barca in 2010 were comfortable. This was closer to the mayhem of 2012 Chelsea (both semi and final) but a bit more organised. Away goals isn't perfect but it's much better than every tie going to extra time. It creates great tension like most of last night's second half.

Could be. Does the title Oathbreaker tie in with it at all? Need to practice smashing Toronto where it's legal to do so.

would you like 3 PMs?

It's OK, we've beaten Wingate before.

oof what a game. When Torres got the penalty I thought it would be a perfect rendition of Chelsea 2012 - 1-0 home win, 2-2 away with Torres to seal it. Nope, second penalty miss of the night, meant nerve-wracking few more minutes, but wow. Atletico back in the final. Leicester are great and all but Atletico have been doing this for 5 years now. Against Real and Barca too.

I guess there could have also been players who played 8 seasons with 4-5 finals appearance but missed the playoffs once or twice. Agreed though. I guess only Jones matches that. Though I'd argue O'Malley's 6 in 8 is more impressive. At the same time, I'm not sure post-expansion is necessarily a disadvantage - after all, this is the era in which Davos, New York, and Calgary made obscene amounts of finals, not before.

The books alluded to Euron being involved in Balon's death but more likely due to some black magic (which kind of ties in to his "I'm the Drowned God" claims and the storm taking place). We don't actually see it happen though, but I don't blame them for actually explaining who Euron is like this.

I mean there's probably someone who made 1 or 2 playoffs and 1 or 2 finals but nothing else. If we go exclusively by this list: http://www.vhlforum.com/index.php?/topic/19054-another-all-time-list-playoffs-every-season/ then Gow is matched by Kloepfer, Shakur, and Jones. More importantly, Ace Lightning did 6 out of 7, while Doug Schneider made 7 finals in 7 seasons, winning 4 of them. Nonetheless, a decent record. Still wish that Game 7 last season went the other way.

Not until Phil took one for the team, no.

Part B here really tested some members' resolve, which is reflected in the updated standings at the bottom. A particular shame that some found 16, just one off the right answer. Coming later today - the 2nd annual Continental Cup finals special! PART A! 1. Which goaltender holds the record for lowest single-season goals-against average? (Credit to DollarAndADream) A. Some have come close since, but no one has matched CAL G's 1.60 tally from S27. 2. Only two players have played sub-300 games in their careers and made the HOF, who are they? (Credit to Kendrick) A. The very first two inducted, Petr Shirokov and Matthew Pogge. 3. Which member has been the original General Manager of more than one VHL franchise? (Credit to sterling) A. Kendrick founded Seattle in S1 (as the Everblades) and then Cologne in S41. 4. What VHL member won the S41 Graphics Rank tournament? (Credit to gorlab) A. boubabi: http://www.vhlforum.com/index.php?/topic/18721-s41-graphic-rank-pay/ PART B! How many goaltenders have won both the Founder's and Continental Cups? A. Based on most of the answers, it's 17. I would've gone through and double checked but Phil has kindly provided a spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/140cZE1a3oEqzKnIp6hSmZpAlfcchxvNmQH12DML8l0Q/edit#gid=0 Remarkably no goalie with more than 1 Continental Cup has won the Founder's Cup. 1 capped TPE goes to: Beketov CowboyinAmerica DollarAndADream evrydayimbyfuglien fever95 gorlab JardyB10 hedgehog337 Phil solas Smarch Streetlight Velevra 1 uncapped TPE goes to: DollarAndADream Kendrick sterling gorlab Standings going into the finals:
