  1. LPLL finds his bite in Toronto After having noticeably more tame seasons in the VHL than in the GOMHL, many people thought age might have caught up to the old enforcer. However, since coming to Toronto, LPLL has been able to silence a few of the doubters with a vintage performance. Through 25 games so far, the new Legion defender has brought back out his big hitting talent. He is 4th in Penalty Minutes and 17th in both hits and blocked shots. These are still numbers that hope to be improved upon, but it is at least a refreshing site to see. One really big plus, however, is seeing his fighting talent. LPLL has only fought two times so far this season, but he has won both of them decisively. While we would still like to see the gloves get dropped more often, seeing success when he does choose to throw down the gauntlet is a nice and refreshing thing to see from fans of the old GOMHL bruisers.

  4. Crazy Trade Sequence for LPLL This last week was a pretty insane one for Luc-Pierre Lespineau-Lebrunette. He was traded not once, but twice in rapid succession from the Quebec City Meute to the Helsinki Titans to the Toronto Legion. The root of the deal fell under cap issues. Quebec needed cap space now, and Toronto was looking to acquire the services of LPLL. However, Toronto needed to wait until mid season before they could afford him. This is where Helsinki came in. With lots of cap space, they were willing to hold on to LPLL until mid season when his contract would be cheaper for them to pay for. This was the plan, until it was discovered that Toronto actually DID have some extra cap laying around to use on LPLL right away, and such he was traded right away to Toronto and will play the whole season there. How did the veteran defenseman react to this? "It was all very chaotic for me." LPLL said in an interview, "I usually dont look at my phone much in the offseason. I was actually on vacation for a few days when all this went down, I was in the mountains with no cell reception. When I came back, I had 23 missed calls and who knows how many text messages! It was definitely a shock."

  7. LPLL carries over physicality from GOMHL to VHL In his 5th year since being drafted by the Quebec City Meute, Luc-Pierre Lespineau-Lebrunette has brought the same physicality that he had with the Philadelphia Liberty in the GOMHL to the VHL. In 4 seasons up with the big club, LPLL has totaled 794 Penalty Minutes, 1055 hits, and 549 blocked shots. Known more as an enforcer in the GOMHL, LPLL was still a very valuable defensive player to the team, adding plenty of hits and blocked shots. One thing a lot of people have been focusing on is LPLL's fight record. His career 49 win-13 loss-40 tie fight record in the GOMHL was the stuff of legends, outpacing everyone else with ease. In the VHL, his 6-5-9 fight record has been lackluster to say the least. Some of this is the fact that the VHL fights less than the GOMHL in general, but his percentages are way off. Is this due to his age? It's hard to tell, but one has to imagine that is a major factor.
