Marc-Alexandre Leblanc, or “MAL” as he is more frequently referred, is excited to hit the ice in Saskatoon.
On joining the VHLM:
“I’m really looking forward to it. I’m sure that it’s going to be a big jump, but I can’t wait to see what I can do. I was recovering from a season ending injury with my juniors team last season, so I think that’s why none of the scouts really had their eye on me coming into the draft. But my coach had a couple of guys come out once I’d recovered, and I was astonished by how many offers I got for teams. Something called me to Saskatoon, and it’s going to be a big adventure for me.”
On his nickname:
“It started as a joke, really. My name’s so long that it’s easier to go by initials, and in French it means ‘Bad’ or ‘Evil’.” So wordplay, and easier than Marc-Alexandre. I don’t think I’m really that bad… at least I hope not!”
