  1. Hey VHLMers (and anyone else who reads this!) ITS MU FUGIN PLAY OFF TIME UP IN HERRRRRRRRRRRRR AND THE ACES HAVE ALREADY TAKEN GAME 1 OF THE WILD CARD ROUND (no homer tho) Last season I started an article which each week analyzed TPE factors for each team. These factors include each teams total TPE, the weekly increases, the average TPE per player on the team, the teams relative position in the league, and which player was the current highers TPE earner. Sally forth and let me show off my greatest life skill which is over analyzing everything and not really gaining insight from it! Pre-season: Team Total TPE (Increased TPE) Average TPE per player League Position Top TPE Earner 1. Oslo Storm 1073 (0) 59.61 (18 players) D - Nicodemus Raven, TPE: 107 (SEA). 2. Las Vegas Aces 624 (+7) 39 (16 players) 4 LW - Shiro, TPE: 84 (STO) League Total TPE 5783 (+240) 69.67 (83 players) Things are evening out in the league as we all buckle down for playoff time. Ottawa put in a nice little last gasp of +38, which puts their average TPE per player at an even 99, which I personally think is awesome. Olso Had a big jump this week. The only team to hit triple digits, they put up a strong 100 points to pull the race between they and Ottawa within a hair of one another. They are the two favorites for the founders cup this year, so with both teams being neck and neck in TPE value, it should make for a great series.... if they get there. The Wild are the dark horse in all of this. They sit in the middle of EVERY SINGLE STAT. This is the team that your one annoying friend who thinks he knows everything would pick, saying something like "The Storm and the Lynx think too much of themselves, The Wild know they have to earn it so they"re going to play harder." and we all roll our eyes like "yea OK buddy" but the thing is that he's right occasionally! Dont sleep on the Wild just yet. Ah, and here we come to the true testament that this entire ranking system is prob just a huge waste of time. The Rush and The Aces sit NICE AND TIGHTLY in the bottom of all categories, and are currently facing off in the Wildcard round of the playoffs. But oh. What's this..... The Las Vegas Aces, those same Aces, of the last place spot in TPE Ranking, HAVE A ONE GAME LEAD OVER THE RUSH. TOOOOOOOT TOOOOOOOOTTTT THE HYPE TRAINS A-ROLLIN, ALL NIGHT LONG. I AM FEEELING A WILD CARD RUN FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL TO FOUNDERS CUP CHAMPION. DO YOU BELIVE IN MIRCALES!?!?!?!?! I DO AL MICHAELS. Yea that's about all I got right now. Thank for reading, as always. Best, Spade

  4. Hey VHLMers (and anyone else who reads this!) Sorry for my hiatus. Things are getting crazy at work and I'm doing 12-14 hours 7 days a week, which has not left me a lot of time to devote to the VHL. I probably shouldnt even be doing this today, but I figured I've missed about two weeks so it's about time. Last season I started an article which each week analyzed TPE factors for each team. Trade deadline day happened early with the VHLM teams wheeling and dealing. Yukon and Vegas sold off some of their heavy hitters after disappointing starts to the season. Saskatoon and Ottawa were respectively the beneficiaries of said deals, sending picks back the other way. With the move, Ottawa jumps up to the #1 spot after landing top TPE player Colton Rayne @Spade18 (shameless self plug) in their deal, but have yet to usurp the Storm for the top spot in the standings. The Storm were quiet during the trades, only making one move for a goalie. It seems to be working for them as they still sit in first place, despite dropping to 2nd in TPE ranking. Congrats to Canmore for breaking into the Banked TPE club. Saskatoon made a big splash in trades, and closed the gap with the top two TPE teams. Congrats to Bennington for also breaking into the Banked TPE club. The Rush and The Ace's have made their intentions known and are vying for the 1st overall pick in the upcoming draft. Thanks for reading as always. Best, Spade
  5. I posted in response because my reading retention is apparently zero. Copied and pasted from said thread My 2 cents are: GM Awarded Points: Giving the GM's some ability to reward their team with points. I know a lot of people hark that this will be abused, but I think it has the potential to help create team bonding as it gives players incentive to be active to be noticed by their GM, while also creating a check against the GM's as it will be decently obvious if the GM is abusing the power, they can be warned or removed, and gives us a red flag for if they are someone we would need to keep an eye on in the future. Short Term Tasks: I dont have a good name for this yet, but this is the idea I've been pitching for a bit about threads like "share your favorite piece of hockey paraphernalia" or "whats the craziest thing you've seen at a hockey game" which players can earn TPE by sharing a story about their life. It does not have to be worth as much as a MS, but should be more than a VHL.com article. I can tell you personally, I'm crazy at work right now doing 12-14 hour days 7 days a week for at least the next month, and I haven't had the time to sit down and do a proper MS. So something like this that will keep some sort of TPE flowing would be great for someone like me. I feel as though to earn TPE on this site with out having a job, your only options are MS, Something to do with Photo Shop, or Podcasting. Now, I haven't ever podcasted and would really know where to start to fill 20 minutes of speaking time, and have no skill what so ever in the realm of photo shop. I know there are others who are not strong writers, so those word limits might be daunting for them. Some kind of mid point like this, I think, would be beneficial to keeping players active, and rewarding them for their activity.
