1. I feel as a young team we did pretty well this year and we have a lot to learn for next season as well.

2. Yes I will mock them by only wearing a cowboy hat in warmup

3. A little bit of snow last week but it quickly was washed away by the rain

5. I like the The last of Us series that kept getting delayed. It's a shame I haven't played the new one

6. Its been so-so. Woke up to some shitty news but trying to move forward

Okay let's start out with the fact I almost wrote "travhav" in the title instead of what I did write. Pretty sure I haven't wrote a Fan article on this gem but here goes. DAAD has been a great member here for a long time. I found this guy on the Canucks forum boards because I had gone to all of the boards to see if they would allow for recruitment posting under their "Other" or "Fantasy League" topics. Sure enough the rules are very loose on the Vancouver Hockey Boards (CDC) much like they defensive units this year. Anyways, Daad was a blessing to this league and I'm glad I found him. He has been a steady General Manager in the league, held many job titles and always takes a very neutral approach to potential conflict. If you get into a spat with this guy, something is wrong with you because he is the less argumentative guy and he is so easy to talk to at a calm level head. I feel like his hockey knowledge is very high too, despite not being able to see some of the best teams in recent years; I'm glad he has a Canucks team to cheer for that has some very good potential forwards. Travis is a gem and we should protect our gems in this league at all costs. Everyone raise their glasses and have a drink of Russell or Hoyne Beer in honour of @DollarAndADream

1. I have invested in some relaxing/calm apps on my phone that cost a lot but worth it for staying focused.

2. Some depth scoring and ability to holds leads.

3. Being away from family is hard, that effects my play definitely

4. The hilarious dad jokes and puns on poster boards

5. Motor oil. Because I'm a closet murder mystery fanatic

6. Probably my legs so they never tire. I feel that's best for a defensemen logging tons of minutes.

Okay so maybe I interpreted the Vacation Theme a little different. At the time Sergei had spent his career in Detroit and needed a career vacation so he went to the warmer Disney laced city!

No player wants to be traded a shit ton of times, but sometimes it happens. When you're in the twilight of your career and you're a fringe player, a savvy veteran or you're a specialist; you know the possibility of being traded is higher. Lewis Dawson is now on his fourth different team in a matter of one season. It could be his face-off skills that are desired or his former scoring touch. Lewis Dawson is now a member of the D.C. Dragons and he is like the Jason Spezza version of a VHL player. The trades were never surprising as I always had conversations which each General Manager regarding where I was. I never outright asked for any trades but when the chance came up to go to a competing team in the back half of my career comes along, I'm going to take it. I got traded from Malmo and they won a cup and I went to the heavy favourites in Calgary. Hopefully this year I can cap off my final season with a nice big VHL title.

What the fuck Kendrick? This title is about all sim leagues and not the ol' mighty VHL in particular. This article is more about all simulation leagues in this little nerdy network that we are in. VHL is supreme and always has been the number one simulation league for many reasons. We can't deny there are leagues out there that peak our interests. I'm talking leagues like the SHL and that baseball one that people seem to be pretty stoked on. SHL has ran right beside the VHL (albeit a few seasons or so behind it) so it's obviously the next biggest that we can think of. The baseball league which I'm simply forgetting at this stage is pretty exciting for all those diamond players. I myself am into baseball so that league did interest me for awhile (I left because it wasn't really ran all that smoothly). Of course we also have that football league which I forgot the name of and I'm not sure if it's still going. There might even still be another football league? I was banned in one of them which was a shame but I see why. I still have a tiny bone to pick about that. However, there are a half dozen other bigger simulation leagues but nothing will compete with the VHL. It's the almighty dollar and the other leagues suck and are trash or run awkwardly.

1. I think we are making strides, but as a young team we are still learning the in's and out's of the roster and the league.

2. Because they feed off each others energy. All three bring a great work ethic to the rink

3. His composure. He is teaching me a lot about keeping my cool under pressure and performing in times where you least expect something to happen.

4. Bag skates. Weird right? But they help conditioning and its the main reason why we keep up to teams.

5. Interstellar because its the best movie ever made

6. I would like to see heated seats in the theatre room and maybe those cleaning sprays they have for equipment in our stalls.

1. I spent time training and getting ready to showcase my talents to potential VHLM GM's

2. I have hired a diet coach to help me stay in shape and prep me for the grind of the season.

3. I feel like we might have a target on our backs but us new guys don't feel the pressure as much.

4. I actually haven't even found a place to live right now so my sole focus is finding accommodation haha

5. New Jersey and because I grew up watching them every second night on the boob tube.

6. Interstellar. I love the way it was filmed and the plot behind it.

I recreated a player for the umpteenth time. I feel like I used to know that process off by heart, but since it's on the portal now it's even easier. I remember when I created Joey Kendrick back before Season 1 and it was somewhat of a guinea pig creation for the site. I was the tenth member but volunteered in the GM Forum to go through a Create-A-Player process (only to have it deleted later because we were testing). Well it's in the mid seventies for seasons now, but I decided to go back to my roots and create another defensemen. I have created the most at that position in my history and had the most success with them in my history. Here is hoping my recreate can be a pillar for some team in the future and team up with some old faces and some new young bucks trying to carve out their legacies in the VHL. This league is very strong right now and I couldn't be more proud of how far we've come as a league, forum and tech nerds. I hope everyone is enjoying the process through the portal and it allows things to be streamlined for you. I know this eliminates some human error and gone are the days where updaters had to go into each player thread and manually approved each update. 2021 is so trendy right now...
