    Jacob smith

A 17 year old from Miramichi New Brunswick weighing in at 180 pounds and standing at 6 feet tall we take a look into the pros and cons of this young players game.

Pros Skating and Shooting Scouts have said that this young player is one of the fastest players they have ever seen on the ice his time around a regular ice surface is 12 seconds on the dot. Scouts have said he reaches top speed almost instantly he moves like a bullet. When he reaches top speed that is when he is most dangerous being able to be hit and keep moving and blowing past the defence. His shot tho not spectacular it is without a doubt one of his strong suits. he cannot pic corners but he always finds and opening and gets the puck in the back of the net, goalies hate him if they make a glove save he skates by and hits the glove. Leadership This guy has proven time and time again he can lead a team to victory, all four of his highschool years he lead his team to gold winning 4 times in a row never done before at his school. He denies the captaincy because he thinks he does not deserve to wear the C saying " I'm no leader i just go out and play hockey." but this attitude allows his teammates to rally behind him.  Defence  A two-way defender has to be good at both offence and defence and he fits into both categories well he can shut down any chance the opposing with little to no struggle. He didn't always play butence but the second he tried it he was unstoppable now looking at his stats over the years youd think he was an offensive defenceman but he considers himself more of a defensive kind of guy that can get the puck out of his end.   Cons Hand eye While yes he could bat the puck out of mid-air he isn't someone who could do some fancy dangles he can do the basics like a toe drag or just bank it off the boards but when it comes to windmills or actually dangling the defence hes got a small chance of actually completing the move we've watched him on the rink almost everyday leading up to the draft just working on his hands but honestly it will take him a while to get to where he wants to be. Screening the goalie This is a guy that loves to block shots every chance he gets hes jumping in front of the puck but sometimes, he misses and the goalie cannot see the puck no matter how many times hes blocked the puck he always ends up screening his tendy. One of his goalies actually started to hate him for it and a rivalry happend and they ended up losing 4 straight games because they were not on the same page Discipline  He likes to play dirty lets put it that way..If the goalie covers the puck he will dig and dig until someone shoves him out of there and what does he do? he shoves them back. Some scouts were at one of his highschool games he took on the whole line and not one of his teammates helped him (This actually happend to me) And we went down swinging only getting a 2 minute minor for roughing he'll take a penalty a game but with the right coach it can be worked out of him.     We asked him how he felt being drafted in the 3rd round by the oslo storm and if he was disapointed at all and his reply was "im honestly shocked i was expecting late 5th round im genuinely happy they felt i was good enough to pick and the fact that i was drafted at all is just amazing"

Hey guys, shut the fuck up.

Let's hear what I have to say instead because it's more important.

Colorado and St. Louis head into their last game of the season today. It's basically a playoff game. STL currently holds the last playoff spot with 94 points, and Colorado is right behind them with 93. It comes down to the last game of the season to decide who makes that final Western Conference playoff spot, and it's a faceoff between both of the teams involved! Pretty sick that it worked out that way. I'll for sure be tuning into that one.

aaaaaaand then there's the game between the Rangers and Flyers tomorrow. Flyers have 1 game left, and they need 1 point to clinch the playoffs while they currently hold the last spot. If they lose, and Florida win their final 2 games, then Florida is in. Lundqvist has already gone on and said he remembers not many years ago when the Flyers beat NY to make them miss the post-season, so he plans to do the same to them.

    Big games tomorrow!!

Also, my own team....Henrik and Daniel's last game of their careers. I mean, I kind of wish it was the one yesterday in Vancouver, but apparently Edmonton has some things planned to celebrate them as well.

    Early life
Jacob smith, a boy from a small town in a lesser known province but do you think that hindered this upcoming star? No, no it did not first stepping on to the ice when he was 3 years old while he was on a trip to the local rink with his preschool he took to it instantly when he first found hockey on the television he loved it watching every game his father put on but, when he entered grade 1 his first choice of sport was basketball he had bought shorts and, shoes but only showed up to one practice and refusing to go into the gym,so his father convinced him to try hockey on the way home, the very next day they went out and bought all the hockey gear Jacob needed. His first time playing hockey is not something he remembers but he does remember  being one of the fastest skaters there Not much happens from that point on until he reaches his second year of atom when he convinces his parents to let him try out for Atom A. We've had a chat with the coach of that team (whom wishes to remain unnamed) "Hes one of the fastest little skaters I've ever seen, you see pro players skate around a rink I think one day he will be one of the fastest skaters in the VHL." that team came second place in every tournament they played in but as Jacob has stated "its one of the best years of hockey I've ever played" a player who was born a good sport. He'd go on to play competitive hockey until the his senior year of Highschool

    Later years
When he reached Highschool he played his heart out during tryouts successfully landing him a spot on the team his coach saw such talent in him he game him the assistant captaincy. Helping his team to the championship scoring three goals in the gold medal game a hero in school and a star on the ice. He and his partner Travis Conroy were the best two players that school had ever seen. Jacob would be offered the Captaincy in his next year but insisted it be given to Conroy stating "I'm not a leader but Travis, Travis is a natural leader" They would threepeat with Conroy and Jacob leading the team each year but Jacobs senior year it all changed
    Year off
Smith had decided to focus on school his senior year since no scouts seemed to be taking interest in him (somehow). But, halfway through the season the teams chances of even making the playoffs seemed slim so Smith confronted the coach asking if there was ant way he could come back for his final year. So once again him and Conroy lead the team to gold. Both of them going down as the two best players to play for the James M Hill Tommies. Both finishing there highschool careers with a substantial amount of points
Jacob Smith : Games played: 300
    Goals: 250
    Assists: 300
    Travis Conroy: Games played: 342
    Goals: 298
    assists:200
    Pregame habits
Before writing this we asked Smith about his pregame traditions he simply said "I listen to Mumford and Sons" then walked away
We did our research and this band is in the "folk rock" genre probably not something to get pumped up to but if it works for him maybe it will.

    School life
At school he was considered a celebrity living the highschool dream he was a jock he wasn't flunking any courses he even had his dream girl but thats how it looked if you were just looking at him from a distance he was home every night he didnt have hockey studying and doing home work just to keep his grades above and 80% average because he knew if it dropped below that he was done with hockey done with his life.
    Home life
At home when he wasnt studying or doing homework he was either gaming on his Xbox Either Fortnite or the newest hockey game or, he wouldnt even be home instead be at his job a cook at a local restaurant which he got at the age of 13.

That just takes us to right now with Smith eagerly waiting for draft day to come and we all hope for good things with this up and coming allstar
