  1. Saskatoon can offer you a fourth line position, but you'd be on the team that is the new favorite to win the championship!
  2. SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN -- The Saskatoon Wild have made significant acquisitions in their push for a post-season victory, but surprisingly the trade deadline was only the beginning of many busy days for acting general manager / assistant general manager Rylan Peace. The trade deadline was the first first day in a series of weeks leading up to where we are now, and with only two games left in the regular season for the Saskatoon Wild, the team is within striking distance of the conference title with a game advantage over the current residents. But the eviction notice has been served. Let's analyze the moves Peace has made in strengthening the Wild roster in preparation to be the last team standing when the dust of the post-season battlefield settles. [TRADE] Wild acquire Gebauer in exchange for picks Mark Gebauer was acquired by the Saskatoon Wild hours before the trade deadline ended, yet missed a solid ten games because of colossal mistakes made by the league. Firstly, Gebauer was never added to the league approved roster for roughly ten games, and when he was finally allowed to be added to the roster - the league kept him out of the lineup. The reason was the lineup wasn't submitted to the correct scorekeeper, however Rylan Peace was never made aware of these changes as he wasn't 'officially' the Saskatoon general manager. It was common, public information that Rylan Peace had risen to the role of 'acting general manager' until his boss returned from a busier than normal life. No one kept Rylan Peace in the loop; consequentially both Gebauer and the Wild suffered as a result. Thankfully, the issue was rectified and now the team will progress as normal. In the games he has been able to play, Gebauer has been a tank for the Saskatoon Wild. Six goals, five assists for eleven points. In warfare, a main battle tank is a force multiplier, and that's exactly what Gebauer is providing for the Saskatoon Wild. [SIGNING] Saskatoon signs Matthew Materazo Matthew Materazo joined the Saskatoon Wild after the trade deadline, but it should be noted that the Wild's forward depth doesn't allow for a lot of offensive success. The key ability of these prospects is to develop on a winning team, and hopefully have their name etched onto the Founders Cup for the duration of the trophies life span. Materazo joined the Wild and immediately slotted in as the third line RW, and improved significantly in his first few weeks as a member of the Wild. Materazo has had more offensive success than other recent signings with two goals in his seven career games, including a game winner, but the real improvement is early development. [SIGNING] Saskatoon signs Carles Puigdemont Sir Carles Puigdemont has - in terms of development in the VHLM - killed it. He joined with nothing, and now he's the number one rated prospect for next seasons VHL draft. To think, he has developed faster than anyone else in that draft class, and is developing faster than prospects in the current draft class for the VHL! Puigdemont solidified Saskatoon's third line, and if he keeps developing at this pace, he'll be an offensive thread next season with absolute certainty. Puigedemont has a single assist in his seven VHLM games, however he's been a key contributor to his lines impressive +/- rating despite being an inexperienced center. [SIGNING] Saskatoon signs Jad Clapperton The signing of Jad Clapperton replaces the stagnant development of Backlund, and it didn't take long for the newest Wild member (at that point) to be slotted into the depth chart above the ill-fated Swedish defender. Clapperton's development focuses entirely on consistency, but he may be a 'project' in prospective terms, but should he maintain a respectable development he'll be an asset for VHLM teams for a few seasons in the future. Clapperton was briefly the Wild's number four defender, and in his seven games he's scored a goal and contributed physically to the Wild's chase for the conference title. [SIGNING] Saskatoon signs Dallas Jones Dallas Jones is the latest Saskatoon acquisition post-deadline, and has overtaken Clapperton's position on the depth chart. Should Jones continue to develop as fast as he is, he could climb even further up the Wild's defensive depth despite Toast being a point-per-game player during the regular season. Jones comes from a family of VHL players, and is a solid two-way defender for any VHLM team to consider during the VHLM dispersal draft. Jones has two assists in his five games, but he's thrown fourteen hits and is a plus three over some difficult games.
  3. Saskatoon has an open vacancy if you'd like to be a backup to Brick Wahl.
  4. Our guy is Chace Trepanier. Lol good read though!
  5. Aye, I have 80 or something like that, but I also have a ton in passing and puck handling to go along with it. You have a ton in checking and defense, so maybe STHS plays you as a checking forward who scoops up loose pucks in front of the net. 85 Scoring is only one part of that decision formula or what ever it is, correct?
  6. He is mostly a checking forward, isn't he?
  7. VHLM Game 197 is missing from the S63 Games category.

    WILD 3 - 1 RUSH

    1. Beketov

      Beketov

Thank you, I put it in. The posting tool basically works by asking what the first and last game we want to post are. If we miss-type it won’t post 1. I must have simply hit the wrong number.

    2. Peace

      Peace

All good! It’s there now so people can see the Wild destroy the Rush three games in a row.

  8. 1) Not really. I don't think I do anything abnormal, but it's been a long time (since high school) I've played any type of hockey, sadly. 2) Trepanier, he keeps stealing all my goals. I'm kidding. 3) VIKING, because free beard oil. 4) In general, I'd like to be a point-per-game player in the VHL, that's about it. 5) Lemieux. Gretzky is the face of hockey still, no doubt in my mind, but Lemieux was - by far - a more effective goal scorer, at least in my opinion, but that's the great debate right? 6) Not really, honestly, but as an AGM doing Saskatoon's lines for the majority of the season I understand why certain players are where. STHS things. 7) I'm surprised, but I have no explanation, so I'd wager it's a strong 'jack of all trades' roster. Great at nothing in particular, except goaltending, but not terrible at anything either. 8. Not really. Dabarno is a center, so his natural position doesn't really interfere with my position and I should be more developed than Kisshan by the time I'm playing for Riga. While I don't know my position on your depth chart, I'll be playing for Riga next season regardless and I'm excited to see what I can do for my rookie season. 9) If there is ever an expansion in the VHLM, I plan on putting my name into the draw. I think I've gained some valuable experience as the Wild's AGM this season, in which I've had day-to-day control over the team for the majority of the season while Dtayl's PC is down (and lately he's been focusing on school work as well). 10) Dtayl is the GM, I'm the AGM, so I think Goon is filling in an advisory roll; I could be wrong, it could also be the staff forgot to remove him from the role. 11) Saskatoon doesn't have three GMs, so I have no idea what is going on. 12) I honestly don't even remember now that I've been back for a couple of months. Maybe just the complexity of how it was back then with nearly (or no) automation. [Claiming for the weeks ending on December 2nd and December 9th. Stocking up claimable TPE since I'll be away for a little bit during the holidays.]
  9. If you're not going to join your own team with this d-man, Saskatoon has one remaining d-man spot.
  10. The newest team banner of VIKING has been released, or at least proposed by a member of the state-of-the-art hockey equipment company's roster of sponsored players. The image, depicting a group of lightly dressed slender women, may hang proudly above the exclusive entrance way where only those who are sponsored may enter - should it be approved by the companies PR department. However, we anticipate some social flak, as the company is a gear oriented provider. And while it may make our stick a little harder, the imagine doesn't contribute anything to the publicity of the company. Although, admittedly, it may raise profit margins through purchases by male (and lightly female) costumers looking to acquire new hockey equipment. In the millennial age, where groups of individuals would claim this as senseless and borderline harassment, we honestly believe no one gives a fuck. Actually, we know, because we asked. Most guys like the picture because it's girls in bikini's. However, Twitter and other social media outlets may be on the verge of destroying themselves over a harmless imagine. Stay tuned.
  11. @Beketov @Banackock If it's at all possible, please let me know when he's added to the Index. I'd like to get him onto our lineup for the last week of sims. Thank you in advance.
  12. Saskatoon can offer you a spot on our second pairing as long as you earn a whopping 31 TPA, so really all you would need to do is claim welfare once and you're our #4 d-man.
  13. Confirmed, 1OA admits he’s a bust.
  14. On top of the 1.5 million, Saskatoon can offer you a depth position with our club. We're a strong contender for the championship and would love for an active center to move up to our third slot to take over an inactive player.
  15. We've just been using these lately. Makes it easier. Saskatoon can offer a 4th line center position on our to be championship team.
  16. SOMEWHERE ON EARTH -- So, it's that time of the week when players are beginning to anticipate the Sponsorship Shield Tournament. Media outlets are breaking down their favorite brands, CEO's are pushing for more sales to take advantage of the hype, endorsers are beginning to appear in comedic or heartfelt TV advertisements and radio broadcasts. Some pose for video game covers, while others promote sport drinks - the players of VIKING display their slick beards and shiny hockey sticks, buffed and comfortable padding through their jerseys. Today, we're taking a deeper look into the brand we call VIKING, covering any player earning seven hundred fifty thousand or more. VIKING... some, perhaps, call it the worst brand - but they're jealous they don't get a cutting edge beard oil that brings the Nordic heritage out of a potato. Here are the VIKING top ten players based on their payroll position: Atop the VIKINGS mix of VHL veterans and VHLM super stars lays Beau Louth (LW), securely making three million dollars just to smile at a camera even though his head is out of frame due to his six foot eight size. The Quebec City Meute left winger has put in a solid effort in the VHL this season, scoring twenty seven goals and twenty to assists for forty nine points; the large frames, though surprisingly underweight forward has eighty six goals, seventy three assists for one hundred fifty nine points in two hundred one VHL games. VIKING signed Louth to a three million contract for three seasons, and he comfortably takes the top left wing position on the VIKINGs depth chart. Earning two million a season for three seasons is Vyacheslav Smirnov (C), an intimidating British - wait, no, Smirnov is actually Russian. The faux vodka, Smirnoff, is British - the more you knoe, eh? Apologies about that one, folks. Anywho, Smirnov is easily - statistically - better than Beau Louth, thus making the Russian super-star a steal for VIKING despite earning two million dollars a season. The Russian center plays for the Seattle Bears - and in fifty six games this season - has put up an impressive twenty three goals and thirty nine assists for sixty two points. More impressive, however, is the Russians plus/minus! Throughout two seasons in the VHL, Smirnov has recorded eighty six goals, one hundred twenty five assists for two hundred eleven points in just one hundred twenty eight games. That's right, he's nearly an assist per game player, and could be a two points per game player by the time his career ends. Future hall of fame inductee? Third on the payroll for VIKING is another Quebec City Muete left wing, and a statistical rival for mister money up top. Marvin Harding (LW), also out of frame for nearly every sponsorship photo taken thanks to his bulky frame and height, earns one point two five million a season for the next three seasons. Harding has made significant improvements over this season after - we'd assume anyway - a disappointing rookie year. This year he's recorded twenty six goals and thirty assists for fifty six points in fifty seven games. Over the course of his VHL career, Harding has earned ninety five points through one hundred twenty nine games. Thirty six goals and fifty nine points are attributed to his name. It seems only fitting to have a shifting order between Quebec City and the Seattle Bears for the top four players on the VIKING roster. Our first defender, Robert Malenko (D), cements his position on the VIKINGs payroll earning one point two five million over three seasons of VHL hockey. The Bears defense-men has been a huge asset for his team, helping them improve over last year in less games; the Bears are likely happy to have him on the roster. In fifty six games this season Malenko has put up sixteen goals and fifty assists for an impressive sixty six points. Malenko has always been a point per game defender, and during his career, he has earned one hundred forty points in one hundred twenty eight career games. The cycle is broken, but our top five VIKING earners are still selected from the same two teams. Our first goaltender on this list, Roger Sterling (G), is among the best in the VHL. The man between the pipes earns one point two five million for three seasons. Roger Stirling hasn't always had a good record on a struggling Bear team, but this season he is arguable the top goaltender. Posting an impressive thirty seven wins, eight losses and four overtime defeats, the goaltender has statistically improved in each category as the Bears compete with more skill in the VHL. Roger has earned a save percentage of point nine two six, and a goals against average of two point zero five - both career highs. Ko Kane (D) is VIKINGS veteran VHL defender; the defensively oriented veteran has entered the final year of VHL eligibility and will retire at the end of the season, thus he earns one point two five million for this season only. Ko Kane is a two-way defender really, and although his offensive production is respectable, his true purpose is to find an opposing jersey and hit it. He also blocks shots, like a lot of them. Ko Kane has over a thousand shots blocked and hits over his seven and a half season career. This year, Kane has recorded seventeen goals - a career high - and earned thirty four assists for fifty one points in fifty seven games. If he continues this pace, Kane will leave the VHL with a career year. He's thrown two hundred one hits and blocked one hundred twenty six shots so far this season, and come up clutch with six game winning goals from the blue line. Vayday Odinsson (RW) is the first VHL rookie to be featured on the VIKINGs payroll, earning one million over three seasons. Odinsson is a better VHL player than he was a VHLM player, but perhaps the magic of the Titans ability to create offense has contributed to his amazing rookie season. Odinsson has recorded thirty one goals, forty assists for a startling seventy one points in just fifty seven games. Despite the offensive production, Odinsson is a negative twenty one with the weaker Helsinki team, but that's to be expected. He's only going to improve, and he's the first right wing featured on the VIKINGS lineup. Ah, Rylan Peace (RW), a VHLM star who's been out shined - so far, anyway, although the VHLM scoring race is well underway. Rylan Peace is the VIKINGs second right wing featured, earning seven hundred fifty thousand for three seasons. Rylan was selected twelfth overall by the Riga Reign in the season sixty three entry draft, and has put up a respectable season with the VHLM's Wild. In fifty eight games, Peace has recorded thirty eight goals and assists for a combined total of seventy six points. Our second VHL rookie featured on the VIKING payroll at seven hundred and fifty thousand (for three seasons) is Shawn Glade (D), an offensive defender who earned over a hundred points in his final VHLM season with Halifax. Glade is currently playing for the Riga Reign, and over fifty seven career VHL games, the rookie defender has recorded eleven goals, thirty five assists for an impressive forty six points despite his relatively small sample size of the 'big league'. Glade is plus thirty five and has more shots blocked than ever before. Dylan Nguyen (D) is another Riga Reign prospect, and you can expect a recurring pattern from here-on in. Dylan Nguyen, like Glade, currently plays for the Riga Reign and earns seven hundred fifty thousand for three seasons. Nguyen isn't as offensive as Glade, however he makes up for it in his defensive abilities. He hits more consistently, blocks shots more consistently and is generally a more disciplined defender. Nguyen has earned three goals in his rookie campaign while contributing twenty four assists for twenty seven points in his fifty seven career games.
  17. 1. I'm rather enjoying my tenure as an AGM. Learning the process as I go, such as value of certain players based on potential rather than TPA totals, or a hard value for TPA rather than any future being considered. Some GMs (>_>) over-value, some GMs get things at insanely low prices. It's been a unique experience and I'm surprisingly enjoying it. I might apply for a GM position if a new VHLM expansion team comes up on the market. 2. I used to play back in high school, usually at right wing or - uncommon for a forward - right defense thanks to a good break out pass and decent 'vision', which is just the ability to predict where people will be really. Beyond that I played in intramural leagues for my college despite not being a student there, dressed up for the odd non-contact, no slap shot shinny games since I got fat IRL and won't fit gear anymore. lol 3. While I understand it's probably a very difficult and demanding job, I wish (as the AGM of the Wild) the Index was updated more often. I think it should be a job for someone on here to do the Index updating rather than keeping it to a single person, which is what it seems to be right now. I have patience, but it's a deterrent when a new player creates a guy, signs with a team, and doesn't get added to the Index (thus any lines) for a week. 1. I'm looking forward to playing in the VHL next season, although I'll be honest I wish I could stay in the VHLM with the Wild. I understand that everyone progresses after 200 TPE, so I'll do my best to be above 350 or so for the Riga Reign. Hopefully I become a core element to their success in the future. 2. After a rather rough ten games to start the season, I'm very surprised at the Wilds resurgence in the standings. I'm honestly overjoyed we're leading the VHLM in shots and least amount of shots against, and I'm very confident we'll be the crowned champions once the playoffs end. 3. Wahl and Dabarno are key pieces to the Wilds success, I wouldn't have had it any other way. Dabarno was a made to improve the roster after that 1-4-0 start, and Wahl was a deal we made for the playoffs. Both of them have proven to be amazing acquisitions and I'm glad they're playing for Saskatoon.
  18. LW - Zippy Zaramo [36 TPA, inactive] LW - Bilal Syed [30 TPA, inactive] RW - Wolf Edmunds [38 TPA, inactive] RW - Richie [30 TPA, inactive] D - Board Slammer [0 TPA, inactive]
  19. Saskatoon can offer you 20 or more minutes a night on literally every line on the PK, 5 on 5, 4 on 4, etc, etc... and we're a serious championship team! Come to Saskatoon!
