I haven't been able to make it more than three years into a run without getting bored. I'm in 4 online leagues though; MHL, GHL, NOHL, and BHL (which I share with McWolf). I just find the trading and FA systems too easy to exploit in single player, plus taking advantage of rookie GMs online is too fulfilling lol
-
And I have two 1sts to deal at the deadline if I feel like it again ?
-
I've yet to win the cup though, 16-17 BHL was my closest yet, but I actually just matched it in the 26-27 MHL, so I guess I'm making my way there ?

I only bought the game in Feb or Mar this year I think. The day I bought the game was the same day I joined the MHL though, and I was immediately told to make the 1st overall pick. In 2023. Having never touched the game before. I'm lucky that ISS 1 happened to be good that year because I just picked him at random.

Here I was impressed with my 1.2k hours worth (90% of that is idling anyways, I leave it open at home so I can remote in to my PC).

Yukon Rush on Draft Day (Draftees Read This)

As former 1st overall pick Nico Hischier would say; -
Don't be too thankful ? RNG will get more correct than I do.

Ryan Kastelic Age: 17 Height: 6'1" (183cm) Weight: 185 lbs (84 kg) Hometown: Ljubljana, Slovenia Ryan is a slick puck-moving defenseman who's quick on his feet, difficult to check, and has the vision to make outstanding passes. He's only just shy of 4 years removed from his first time touching the ice, but he looks as though he's been living in skates his whole life. After a rocky start to the season with the Sudbury Wolves, Ryan has gone on to post 4 goals and 56 assists in 68 GP. He has become an invaluable piece of the Wolves' #1 powerplay unit, feeding his triggermen as the QB of their umbrella, while also putting in time on the 2nd PK unit, boasting only 5 PPG against all year. Although his game is raw and he has much to improve as of yet, his raw talent and athletic ability are what make him impossible to pass up at the next VHLM draft. Pros: Skating Ability As previously mentioned, Ryan hadn't touched the ice until he was 14 years old, but his days of running track and practicing inline skating have lead to a natural skating ability that rivals most 25 year veterans of the game. Almost effortlessly, he seems to be able to overtake anyone on the ice in the blink of an eye, making backchecking after a pinch or giveaway easy, and negating almost every mistake he makes. Hockey Sense Although I am quite hesitant to say it, Ryan has almost a Gretzky-an sense of where the puck is going to be as opposed to where it is. He is excellent at cutting off opponents' passes before they hit their mark, and he knows just how long he needs to delay a pass in order to land it perfectly on his teammate's stick while avoiding any possible interceptors. Creative Passing Even ignoring his passing game as a whole (which is nearly flawless), all I should need to share here is a pass that I saw Ryan make while playing for the Wolves this year. This footage isn't actually of him but of the nearest imitation that I could find online here. In case you can't watch the video for whatever reason, he drops the puck to his feet and kicks the puck for a cross-crease pass while coming in on a 2on1. The creativity behind that play is something that's evident every time Ryan touches the puck. Cons: Hitting Being as strong of a skater as he is, Ryan's never had to take a large number of hits to this point in his career, and with his stickchecking and overall possession control, he's never had to dish many out either, so hitting is one area of his game that could potentially stand to improve, but we'll have to see if it hinders his VHL career at all. Overall Hockey Knowledge Due to him not being a hockey player or fan until the age of 14, Ryan still lacks some knowledge on the intricacies of the game, whether they be rule or tradition related. For example, for the first time, he gave up a penalty shot for covering the puck with his hands in the crease, something which he had no idea was against the rules because it had never come up in his games before. Scoring Ability Normally, for someone as natural a playmaker as Ryan is, I wouldn't even mention scoring ability as his prowess there is strong enough to make up for any faults in scoring. However, he is almost on another level of not being able to put the puck in the net (on purpose at least, 2 of his 4 goals this year were intended passes that ricocheted into the back of the net) if his life depended on it. I'm convinced that some days he wouldn't be able to hit the broad side of a barn with a shot. Word count: 654 words.

The formatting for the bottom half of the table is fucked up for me, right where the guys go out of alphabetical order.

I personally pirated Photoshop *sirens in the distance* but if you don't feel like doing that I think GIMP is free, same with Paint.NET, and they both have some functions that could be useful. -
Review: My fav logo in the league, so obviously I like this a lot. I would second bek's point that the extrusion should come out a little more, but I would also add (keep in mind I know nothing about 3D rendering), that the light source could maybe be shifted slightly from dead-on. As it is right now, it looks flat (and totally white, probably also due to the lighting) every time it returns to front facing.

Review: Man, I really, really like this one. I'm honestly not sure how much I can really critique here, but I'm sure we'll find something. First of all, the font is beautiful and you need to tell me which one that is @Bushito , The lines and the textures on the bg work well to draw attention to what you want us to look at, mostly the player, but it does irk me that the reds in the genned stuff is slightly off from the shade of red on his jersey (likely due to whatever filter you have on him. Also, I feel like the N in the name shouldn't be touching the player, but that's just nitpicking.

Review: A+ player choice and A+ color scheme /review jk. I do like how the color scheme is two-toned, which it doesn't seem to be that popular around here, but I much prefer it to any one-tone or black and white designs. The whole top of the picture looks a little too bright, and it's hiding some of the detail of that background texture. Also, if I were you, I would have maybe chosen a slightly different shade of blue for the text, it just looks a little odd against the navy blue of the jersey.

Review: I really dig the background on this one. I also like the overall simplicity of it, sometimes sigs can get way too busy. However, the noise filter (at least I think that's what it is) that's blanketed over the whole thing just makes it look like I'm kind of squinting as I'm looking at it. Overall though, I like the graphic.

Review: I really like this one. Like exlax was saying, I feel like the gradient either could have been eased in a little more, or else you could have maybe fir in one more player pic and just had less framing gradient overall. Either way, I feel like too much of the real estate of the sig is being taken up by the black.

Review: I do actually like the font choice, I think it works really really well with the paint splatter effect for the background. I do however think that the "Arroyo" is a little bit tough to read, and the player looks washed out (looks like that was purposeful), but I prefer having the player jump out a little more. Also, if that cut job was you and not a .png you found, that was really well done.
-
Review: I personally don't like the font, but that's more of a preference. It just looks too cartoony and bubbly for my liking. I do really like the effect (I'm assuming some screened dust particles) and lighting, but I also don't really dig the white jersey on white background, but since the colors aren't actually identical, I can at least discern him from the background.

Review: Contrary to your view, I think the simplicity actually helps it. I like the drop behind the lettering, and the effect on the whole thing works pretty well. The only gripe that I have is that the player (is that Mittlestadt?) doesn't pop out enough from the background, something that is probably mostly due to him wearing white and having the graphic behind him be blue and red, but there's a couple different effects you could have used to make him stand out a little more. -
