VHLM goaltending may be in a bit of a golden era at the moment, with names like Kallis Kritikers, Alexander Pepper, Cole Mertz, and Tyler Smith all sparking up interest as elite goaltenders. When it comes to the Devereux, Kritikers and Pepper are the only ones left standing though. With both players holding a starting role and being in the top of the goaltending standings, it’s hard to consider split start goaltenders for the position. However, I believe Mertz should still be in the conversation when you look at how consistently he’s preformed. Night in and night out Mertz has held at worst second place across GAA and Save % throughout the season. He has proven that he can maintain his performance under most if not all situations. Not to mention with the current standings, Mertz sits atop those two leaderboards with .893 Save % and 2.01 GAA, and is third in shutouts with 2. He has proven himself as an elite goaltender and shouldn’t be dismissed from the Devereux conversation solely because he hasn’t started every game. If McDavid can win awards while being out for a large chunk of the season, why can’t Mertz? (oh I’m gonna get so much shit for the mcdavid comparison from Pepper I already feel it coming.)

1) Crosby to LVA, the kids insane and he put up huge numbers in YUKON, imagine what he’ll do in Vegas. 2) There’s too many variables to consider, but assuming no specific needs I would take Kastelic. 3) Higher, I expected to do as well as expansion franchises are supposed to, which isn’t good. It’s crazy to be first in the league. 4) Me obviously, but seriously we have Ryan Kastelic, a cut from the euro roster who is second overall in the most recent draft class, I’d say he’s gonna be a standout player. 5) Rebound Control, that’s a shaky spot for me. 6) Tagger we’re not supposed to have multis come on now. It’s been pretty helpful I’ve just been busy lately to do the activities.

@diamond_ace these are power rankings done by a guy whose been here for only three weeks, everything I say should be taken with a whole container of salt, I was just looking at the production coming out of the team and expected more from them. Granted seeing how all of their production was coming from only a few players where your franchise had more depth scoring was a mistake on my end, and I acknowledge that.
