@der meister First error read the Primary HDD Bay. There was another one prior, but can't remember. If not mistaken, the main problem was the hard drive (I know nothing about computer though, lol).

Lap top is toast though. HP is shit and I don't wanna keep feeding into them. Quality > Quantity.

My Asus wasn't bad, got it for like $500 or something like that. Bought it from some guy off Kijiji though, who only used it once or something and re-boxed it because he won a different computer or some shit like that. So it didn't have warranty, but I obviously wouldn't have needed it anyway since I've now had it for 3-4 years or something. But you could probably find a nice laptop on sale for a similar price, even less. Depends what you all want out of it. If you're just using it for movies and shit you could probably find a nice laptop for $300-$400.

If you're getting something new, check out Blinq. They have new, refurb, and new open-box stuff. I've gotten several things new, open-box and have had no issues. Got my wife an Asus hybrid laptop/tablet new for like 105 a year ago.
