  1. Things are slowly happening in Seattle and it seems as though the bear may actually be coming out of hibernation. The team has landed some solid pieces over the last couple of seasons which range from Aleksei Federov, Gabriel McAllister, Forsberg, Laflamme and Perought. As of 4 minutes ago, the organization locked up one of those pieces for the next 2 seasons after this one. The deal sees Aleksei Federov acquiring a minimum of 6 million dollars over the next 2 years at a 3 million/season rate. The latest rumbled are the league state that this deal has everything to do with a trade that could potentially be coming. Usually, I wait. We don't know what our situation will look like in the following season. So if I can take more money, which actually benefits the team, we do it. In this situation, we're potentially bringing in a strong asset and are currently talking with a GM and player VIA one chat regarding the extension which will go on for 3 seasons. Time will tell on a deal being done, but we got the extension part handed out and ready to go. Rumor has it, 7M a season could be a thing.
  2. Try again, dude.
  3. I thought @Laflamme was too until @Kendrick said he was't. Here I thought it was summer time and he was just busy
  4. It's likely one of the most prestigious awards that a player can win aside from capturing a championship with his team. To be crowned the champion of all players in the league, that has to earn you some respect. It goes to show that you, at that time, the best player to tie their laces up and skate on that ice. You may not have been it last year or the year before, you may not be it next year or ever again, but for that season there wasn't a single person in the world better than you. Of course, this could be for numerous reasons. You're a huge player to th league and have scored the most goals, broke records, got a crazy amount of points, played amazing on a struggling team or back stopped your team to some crazy wins as you earned an exceptional save percentage and shut out amount. In the VHL, it seems we're never short of these players. Looking at the statistics for the season, this once again plays true. Franchise Cornerstone - HSK He has 41 goals in 44 games. Let's also remember that last year he was a really good player too. Though he is playing on an amazing team and one can always wonder that this always LARGELY contributes to the players well being, Cornerstone is easily the most dominant player on his organization. Axelsson is right behind him, but after those two, there's a dramatic cut off when it comes to productions. With his 81 points through the season so far, it's very possible for him to potentially break some goal scoring records this year and land above 130 points. We do think he will simmer off and fall within the 59-64 goal range. Diana Maxwell - DAV Goal scoring is what she does best. A couple years ago she was making names for having crazy seasons and once again we find her doing the exact same thing. Tied with Cornerstone on the season for goals, Maxwell is also on 4 points off being tied for points too with 77 on the year. One argument some will make for Cornerstone over Maxwell is that Cornerstone is younger and is going a majority of the work on his team without a good portion of help that Maxwell has on her roster. This gap though, could be the deciding factor which allows Maxwell to push forward and TRUMP Cornerstone for the award. Essian Ravenwing - RIG Goals may not be his forte like it is for Maxwell and Cornerstone, but points always have been. From his days with New York to his days with Riga, he's always been an extremely fun player to watch. This year is no difference as he leads Riga and the entire league for points (well, he's actually tied in first). With 82 points on the season (29G, 53 A, 82 PTS), it's safe to say he's one of the stronger candidates for MVP. Honestly, I'm still surprised Riga is doing as good as they are, and then you look at the roster and see the names "King" and "Ravenwing" and everything makes sense. Lukas Muller - QUE I'm almost certain I took a gamble on Muller and took him in my VHL Fantasy League. If this is the case, I'm extremely happy I did. Remember that person who was tied with Ravenwing for 1st for points on the year? That's Muller. 33 goals, 49 assists and 82 points has him sharing the crown with Riga's Ravenwing for top spot for points throughout the Season 56 campaign. With almost double points than games played, it's been a really fun time for the Meute fans in Quebec to watch hockey. Question is - will he be able to play like this for th rest of the season? We're going to say 87% yess. There will be on and off, but for th most part, expect him to stride to the finish line and make a good argument for MVP. Markus King - RIG I've reached my 600 words, but didn't feel right leaving this article without adding in Rhett Degrath or Markus King. Either one can honestly contend for the MVP rights and honestly, both deserve it just as much as the players listed above. So when you read Markus King here, also read DeGrath because I'm lazy. However, King has the edge in my eyes for the award as I don't feel Riga is as strong. If Riga continues to triumph their way to playoffs, I'm saying he's their best player. 12 (donations 1/2) for Forsberg
  5. We took a little walk down memory lane and stumbled upon a scouting report we did a few seasons back regarding one of the leagues current big up and coming, possibly elite defenders. Though his career hadn't started off as great as it potentially could have, it seems as though the two-way defender from Russia is finally catching edge in the Victory Hockey League. Some often wondered if maybe his potential was higher than his actual ceiling as numerous fans and critics around the league thought he'd be an explosive player even on an extremely weak Seattle team. Despite this, we asked 25 scouts two seasons ago their thoughts on this situation and 92% agreed that his ceiling was much higher than the level he was currently playing at. Looking back at that season to this one, we'd have to strongly agree with them. When comparing it to our initial scouting report when he first entered the VHL community, we'd boldly like to admit we were maybe a little off. You can read that old scouting report HERE. With that out of the way, we'd like to evaluate and do a retake on Aleksei Federov. Player Name: Aleskei Federov Age: 20 Birthplace: Novosibirsk, Russia Height: 6'2.5" Weight: 207 pounds Federov wasted little time entering the VHL and found himself playing for the Seattle Bears during Season 55. Hard times had fallen on the Seattle organization, as multiple retirements and a failed attempt at a cup run had run spoiled and the team decided to fold their hand and enter a rebuild. During the draft, one of the players selected was explosive, two-way defender Aleksei Federov. With strong play over in Russia and a fairly reliable and consistent player agent, his rating ranged from 7.5 to 9.0, with us giving him a fair rating of 8.5B. During his rookie season, he managed 43 points (17 goals, 26 assists) through the 72 game season. He also managed 182 hits, 241 shots and led any other player on the Bears organization by 25 points. His performance throughout the season may not have seemed like anything special on paper, but given all circumstances in Seattle, it was actually rather exceptional. Those who knocked him on this season were silly to do so. The 25 point lead alone gives clear description that he was carrying all the weight and had no other support to fully blossom into the player a majority of managers, scouts and fans expected him to become. The following season was going to be a big one. The team has a massive pick in the draft, landing Gabriel McAllister. In addition to McAllister, the team also signed some depth players and brought up Xavier LaFlamme and Key Perought. Though the signings and other additions weren't huge, they were better support than the season prior. The season is currently 43 games in and he's officially passed his rookie season totals. So far, he has managed 15 goals, 31 assists, 46 points and a fair amount of hits with 94. With Seattle acquiring some extra talents to the team, it seems as though they've boosted their star defensemen and pushed him to play a better game. The rating He's come a long way since entering the VHLM when he received the rating of 8.5B. With a fairly successful rookie campaign completed and a stronger sophomore season underway, we're thinking that an evaluation of our scouting report wasn't totally a bad idea. Though we wouldn't say the jump is too crazy, we feel as though change is needed. He has displayed strong player and consistency in his training. With Seattle getting stronger by the season, we feel his trend in exceptional player will only continue and become better. In 2 seasons time, we feel as though he could potentially be fighting for the #1 spot in the league for top defender (we'd gamble and say MAYBE next year too). To cap it off, here is what we feel he has become: 9.0A 6 for Federov
  6. Ohhh, burn (he's busy lately). Fingers crossed, huh.
  7. @Laflamme you the real MVP
  8. Day 9 of quitting smoking. Honestly, may make me sound soft and weak, but very hard to not give in. Let's just say my mood has been rather bitter, haha.

  9. Sigh. My girlfriend watches one documentary and all of a sudden is a vegan after 23 years.. Help.

Yeah. Dunno. Did some research on meat and watched a documentary on how it's bad for you - causes higher blood pressure/cancer and diabetes #2 (says studied). Red meats a carcinogenic and blah blah. She said a bunch of shit but it pretty much went in one ear and out the other as I  slowly chewed the steak I had last night for supper.

It's not my forte and I don't see what the point of it is, lol. Meat is good. Snacks are good. Dairy product, good. Don't get me wrong, I love veggies but fuck me.. every day.. all day. Not a chance.

So she'll do this fad for about 2 weeks (max) and I'll continue my life how it is and she'll return back to the good side (where she had been for 23.98 years prior)

There are a lot of alternatives. It's not like she's just going to sit there and chew on a beet for 20 minutes.

  11. Thanks to Aleksei Federov, I've officially played every position in the sim universe. Over in the SHL I've done the LW/RW and over here I've managed to topple goalie, centre and officially, defense. Over the seasons though, I'd have to say my favourite position to create and play as has to be goalie. To be dominant, post wins and come up big to me is as good as scoring and dominating up front. Yeah, in my mind the goaltending as inflated hugely in this league to the point a goalie goes 60-7-2 with 2982 shut outs on the season, but I'd like to think of teams were less "really good" or just shit, that would be different. That's what you get for only having a 10 team league. This season, we have had some surprises, some bed shitters and some absolute star goaltenders and we're going to take a look at them right now for some sweet 6 TPE. Helsinki Astrid Moon is and likely will be one of my favourite goalies in the league right now. While I will say that I am a Perought fan, something about Astrid Moon strikes my heart. Not sure if it's @KGR as a person, or how dominant he's been over the last few seasons, but he's got my vote as a HOFer if he keeps it up. This season has been no different - going 21-8-1 while posting some other fairly good numbers. Though it's not as great as before, he's still playing some good puck. Stockholm He's got the shitty end of the stick for most of his career. His player agent has built some great players in his time audit's the simple fact of shitty timing for this career. A huge amount of goalies has pushed him to be on unsuccessful teams (Davos and now Stockholm). 5-24-1 is the record this season and though his save % is great, his GAA is shit (expected). A little bird tells me to keep an eye on him. He could be on the move sooner rather than later. Davos DAV G has done his job rocking a 7-1-1 record (thought we'd just say that). Rhett DeGrath was brought in to bring about change to the position (not really). They already had strong goaltending by DeGrath is simply better (even if his stats don't really show it right now). 15-6-0 with some fairly good stats to go along with it, expect his play to only get better and better this season. Now that the back ups games are out of the way, expect him to roll to the finish line with fire under his heels. Cologne Express Vernon Von Axelburry. Good goalie, shit team. His record is extremely below average and his numbers are the same. You can shit all over him for his statistics or look the bull in the eye and spit the truth. Cologne is a shitty team with a good goalie and there he lay in the shit. What is he to do other than try his best and that's exactly what he's doing. IF and when Cologne improves, Vern Von Axelburry will surely carry a crazy amount of weight on his shoulders. On a more competitive team and I'd say he'd be one hell of a starter. Riga Reign I'm actually a little surprised they're doing AS good as they are. I guess Stockholm and Cologne do suck pretty good, but I'm gonna say that King has a lot to do with it. While they are seeing strong play from a bunch of their other players, he's likely a player who currently sits as a candidate for MVP on the season thus far. 24-4-0 is dominant enough, but his numbers display level of insane excellency. Despite the strong start, I'd say all eyes are on King to see if he can continue this strong play. If he can't, I'd say Riga falls a small amount. 12 (Final double) for Federov
