Rumours Around The VHL 1. Vernon Von Axelberry RETIRES Who knows what evil lurks behind the one they call @BobertZ. Who knows what he has up his sleeve now that he is entering @Bushito's domain. Curious to see how this one turns out. Though Vernon Von Axelberry could revive his career and really start running with things, the question simply needs to be asked - WHERE? 85% of teams do not need him and the remaining ones likely will never be good enough, soon enough for him to have a successful career there. You would think this would push someone into retirement (it pushed Blake Campbell into it). 2. Punky steps down as Cologne GM We're going to make a bold prediction here. We say he holds on tight until the end of the season. We think he's gonna stick it out, roll with the punches and make it to the draft lottery. My ears and eyes will be on that little machine thingy spinning and kicking out the winning teams numbers or whatever. If Cologne doesn't win the lottery, we're going to say that he loses his shit again and that could be the inevitable fall of @punkhippie as Express GM. 3. Helsinki Rebuilding You never know, do you. I'd say they won't but then again, who knows? With Yingy dink face retiring and Dortch on his way out, it wouldn't surprise me that he cashes in the lotto and does A RETOOL. For our first ever episode of "Breakdown", we looked at the Seattle Bears and how they're recent two deals over the last couple of days have affected them. We got insider wording from GM Blake Campbell, and then threw on some end results for your likings. Episode ONE can be checked out HERE. For episode #2, we're going to take a look at an event which was happening at the same time as our event in episode #1. In fact, you could likely say that it was the trigger to all melt downs and all negative things possible. It could very well be. Was the GM having a shit day and then consequences of his actions buckled the track and sent the Express derailing off the bridge that is organizational success and growth. Now that the fire is burning and it seems as though the local VHL fire department can't put out the blaze, it's time to shine some light onto Cologne inevitable derailment that sent the fans of Cologne into panic and chaos. @punkhippie VS @Banackock - VVA Negotiations. We'd like to argue this and put this to rest right now. For a brief moment in negotiations, there was a deal struck and almost ready to go. It wasn't that Seattle was steering through the waters when it came to the Stockholm deal, it was more so them looking to see who the best dance partner was for them. In the trade negotiations, you had 3 faults that stood out for the Cologne Express. The first was that the goalie market is extremely low. Every team has a goalie and if they don't, there surely are some in the draft. Hell, some teams even have two goalies. Adding onto this, the Bears had a deal lined up with Stockholm for Mist4ke that Cologne knew about (they just didn't know the specifics). The 2nd thing was the VVA contract extension. First it went from wanting 7M a season, to a 3 year deal with a player option on the 3rd. I've lost my fair amount of players to protect my ass. So we went to 5.75, 5 and 5 years with a NTC and no PO at all. Great. The last thing being that Punk switched his mind last minute and tried to go for a 1st rounder. Seattle has made it clear numerous times that the pick will not move for anything except a forward with years left on their contract. That 100% it will not be moved in this deal. Trade negotiations stopped there and about 5-10 minutes later, Seattle announced their deal for Mist4ke. End Result: We feel like Cologne took a gamble and lost. Were they thinking they could get more? Did they think Seattle was bluffing when they had a deal lined up for a different goalie? Not too sure. Maybe they were testing the water. They may have figured they had time before the trade deadline. Either way, they lost and burned while losing. The derailment was big on this one and won't be cheap to fix. They could have gotten a 2nd, albeit a S58 or 57 is didn't matter. This is 100% better and more valuable than thin air, because after the season that's exactly what VVA is to Cologne. A Free agent. SEA/COL - S57 SEA 3rd for Augustus Gloop This one isn't huge, but it's something. It was almost like Punk showed some sign of defeat. May have been the mental crack when he started swinging his dick sword around. Either way, a 3rd which is worthless for a 91 TPE player who doesn't update anymore, what the fuck right? The only thing that clicks here was that Seattle is going to lend a hand but also that they have ties to Gloop's player agent and are hoping to revive both of their careers. For Cologne, it was a gamble. What did they have to lose? Gloop was on pace to be nothing for Cologne so if anything, Cologne did a good service by hopefully helping to rekick start a career. End Result: Cologne lost the deal if it were to be judged at this minute and only this minute. Gloop comes back on after receiving a message from Bears GM on a different league. Over the next couple hours, he pops out 19 TPE worth of point tasks (Bio, RP and Vhl.com). He also has some change in the pockets to earn himself a free week for the following week to take it easy and get back into the stride of things. Gloop could either be a "Whatever. We tried deal. No loses" or a "Fuck yeah. Gold Mine." sort of deal. Time will tell, but sucks to suck for Cologne on the loss of potential. Honorable mention: Rudy Ying retiring all in the same day. Could be a team move or sign of frustration. Either way, shitty to see for Punk and Helsinki. 6 for Federov (Sept 4th to 10th)

GM Campbell breaks down his recent deals. During the off-season as pretty much every other team was making moves, the Seattle Bears organization was sitting tight. It wasn't because they necessarily wanted to, they just couldn't seem to find a partner to trade with. When asked earlier in the off-season what his plan was walking in, GM Blake Campbell stated, " We're looking to match our asset needs with someone who we can match with. If this doesn't happen, they and you know very well we have no issue holding tight until the right deal comes along". It seems as though that wait is finally over for the Seattle Bears. Well over half way gone in the regular season and the trade deadline approaching quickly, the Seattle Bears have desired the gun off not once, but twice in the last couple days. The first of their deals has them bringing in a starter goalie that will allow Key Perought to grow and such (not to mention decent security) and the second deal seen the Seattle Bears trading a low valued pick for a similar valued defender who had struggled and not shown any sign of promise. Following the trades, we approached Bears GM Blake Campbell to see if we could get a little breakdown and he delivered. STO/SEA - S57 SEA 2nd and Akerfeldt (G) for Mist4ke (G) @Strtlght This deal had been planned a couple weeks ahead when GM Campbell approached the Stockholm Vikings regarding the struggling goalie. After a short period of talks, Stockholm gave permission to Campbell to speak with Mist4ke. While speaking with Mist4ke, the Vikings GM was present at all times and took part in said discussion. After coming to the agreement on the S57 2nd, the deal was all said and done. The idea was to wait a while to let both Seattle picks fall to better spots in the draft. As days passed from the talks, Seattle grow antsy. Then, they approached Cologne to see what the price was on Vernon Von Axelberry. Eventually, they came to the conclusion that a 2nd was good enough, and once again, Seattle wanted to speak to the player regarding contract terms (GM was also present in these talks). VVA and Campbell agreed to terms and following that Express GM asked for a 1st rounder. At that moment, the deal fell apart extremely quick. About 10 minutes after the dealing falling through, the Seattle/Stockholm deal was posted to the VHL's site and was signed up. End result: We'd say it's a good deal for Seattle. Key Perought seems to be hit and miss, however, is making strong strides the last couple weeks and is showing a little stronger activity. While this is great for Seattle, adding a strong goalie who still has tons of time left in his career doesn't hurt. It's a plan A, allowing Perought to grow and be plan B for the time being. Additionally, now a pick doesn't need to be used in any draft or future trade (goalie market is nice and low right now). SEA/COL - S57 SEA 3rd for Prospect Augustus Gloop (D) If not mistaken, these talks and happened a couple weeks back, however, never ended up going anywhere. Generally, the Cologne GM wanted way too much for the players and overvalued them. Of course, I took this as him joking and poking fun in the deals. Trying to cause friction maybe. So we shut down the deals on there. Then when the VVA deal was being talked over, I think Seattle brought up a 3rd for Augustus - which later got shut down and Cologne seemed adamant on somehow earning our 1st. After the Vernon Von Axelberry deal fell through, GM Campbell was notified on his cell phone. It was a league notification saying that his team had been involved in a trade with the Express, however, he never recalled agreeing to anything. Sort of funny, Campbell thought it was a VVA deal being posted. Luckily, it was an Augustuc Gloop for 3rd. End Results: We'd say Seattle heavily won this for the time being. Gloop has returned to activity and word on the street is that he's coming back with some motivation. Seattle dealt for Gloop and had tried to because the player agent, @evrydayimbyfuglien, has previous history with Seattle's GM. Campbell thought that he would be able to speak to Gloop and bring his player back into training and growing as a prospect. Sure enough, Gloop completed his Rookie Report (8 TPE), Biography (10 TPE) and VHL.com (1 TPE) today. On top of that, Gloop has been talking lots with Campbell and things are looking promising for the young defender. 12 TPE - Final Double week donations (2/2) -- Forsberg For the Week of September 4th to September 10th (which is 34 minutes away)

But then you starting pushing for S57 1st. If you have a deal lined up for one goalie for a 2nd and the other for a 1st, you'd do the same. The moment you went from "yeah, we can do the 2nd" to bringing up the 1st, the talks were over.

It's a gamble, but one I'm willing to take. @evrydayimbyfuglien used to be a big part of the Bears not too long ago. I'll take a risk and try and bring back a really strong, enjoyable member. Welcome to the team, Gloopy. Accept.
