  1. When initially entering into the VHLM, Sven Wolf was claimed by the Brampton Blades. While on the team, Watchmen GM Blake Campbell pursued the young goaltender to some extent as his team was missing that final piece to help them repeat at a championship. Although the price was steep (1st and 2nd for Wolf, Alset and a 3rd), the Watchmen landed their #1 goalie and Wolf was heading to a new city to play between the pipes. When approached about the deal, this is what Wolf had to say: "I thank Brampton for the opportunity to play for them. During my time there, I went 8-6-0 with a 2.11 GAA. It's not bad but it was a much weaker team. I feel as though I'm fairly strong and prior to playoff time I will only continue to get stronger. Being traded to Bratislava is great in multiple ways. Firstly, it helps them out huge. They were missing a number one goalie yet were doing so well. Secondly, I go to a competing team that wishes to win a cup and that has fairly good odds at doing so. I'm very excited to be apart of the Watchmen organization". Since joining the Watchmen, Campbell has posted a record of 6-1-1, a SV% of .898 and a GAA of 1.72.
  2. Season 47 was quite the year for the Bratislava Watchmen. With a hot start at the beginning of the season, the team fell into a significant slump which lasted roughly a quarter of the season. Knowing that change was inevitable if the Watchmen wished to chase a championship and that his players were becoming unsettled with all the recent losing, Bratislava GM Blake Campbell went to the phones to started making the calls. One by one, all within a short span, trades were made between the Watchmen and the opposing teams. As each trade came in, the team continued to get stronger. Their defense became arguably the best defense in the league and their organizational depth all around was easily above average. With a stronger defensive core, Zhumbayev played stronger and the wins started to roll in. By the time playoffs came, the Watchmen had clinched first place in the conference and we're confident heading into the playoffs. With the bye, they awaited their opponents in the second round. Next, game the finals where they barely hung on to the finals after coming out fast with a large series lead. Eventually, the Watchmen hoisted their first cup in some time, GM Campbell won his first cup and second Jack Reilly award for GM of the year. The season was successful and the Watchmen will be remembered for their midseason to late season heroics in such an amazing turnaround. Now, the Watchmen are competing in Season 48 at a chance for a repeat. The team has been excellent this season even if they did lose some big names. The team is currently sitting in first place in the league and it's a lot of thanks to their still good depth and chemistry. Along with that, 2nd season veteran Podarok is leading the team in points and is having quite the season for himself. He's a huge reason why the team is succeeding right now. Along with that, the Watchmen had most of their season so far without a starting goalie and rather with a very inexperienced, low talent guy blocking shots between the pipes. Even with such a week goalie, the team managed to be in first place and rock a 12 game winning streak. Since, the Watchmen paid a hefty price for waiver goalie Sven Wolf - who is already progressing quickly and is now just shy of 100 TPE. When asked regarding the trade, this is what GM Campbell had to say: "No goalies were available on the market. They were all apart of competing teams. You need a goalie to win. They can win you games. This season, we've done so well without a goalie, we figured we'd be that much stronger with one. He's no Dandonov right now, but he's progressed extremely quickly and will shortly be above 100 TPE. We believe he;s gonna be a huge asset to our team and will hopefully help our chances at a repeat" GM Campbell has played his cards right for the last couple seasons. During his first season as GM, he went all in while pursuing his first ever Founders Cup. While making it to the finals, he lost out and spent the next 2 seasons rebuilding. With a cup win and now a great chance at repeating, we asked Campbell what his thoughts were on this season and the future for Bratislava. "We've done an extremely great job this season on executing in those big games. It's the regular season, but it's always good to claim first for that first round bye. I'm proud and impressed with how the team is playing and only wish to continue to motivate that at a chance of repeating. It's all about the cup. I get a juniors GM is to keep people active and get them ready for the big leagues, but it's about a lot of things and winning a cup makes it a good experience. We truly wish to repeat because this could be the last year we're able to do so. The offseason we could pull somethings off, but we're losing more players once this season finishes and will make it really difficult on us. I'd say a season or two rebuild is coming but if we can, we'll do our best to avoid it." 717 - use as double week

  5. Essentially, top 3 players in ANY VHLM draft are theoretically the same as "waiver" players. Their amount of TPE is so high, their main purpose is one season in the league and to help a team compete. There's a reason certain teams didn't want high picks last season. Thus, Sven Wolf is a high end pick. He's very similar to any other waiver player that plays half a season, gets drafted again and is done. So we took an early step and got him in his first half season rather than last full. We're 28-5-1 and on a 12 game winning streak without a goalie. I want my boys to win a cup - not finish 2nd. At the end of the day, it's about them - not me. If we're doing the best in the league without a goalie, I'm excited to add a 92 TPE and climbing quickly goalie to our roster. Evan is rebuilding. I'm looking to win my second cup in a row. Essentially, he scratched my back as no other team is really moving a goalie and I scratched his by helping him be a stronger team in the following years (while I rebuild). Once you hoist a cup, come talk. In the meantime, let me try and win my boys a 2nd championship in a row.
  6. To Brampton - S49 Bratislava 1st S50 Bratislava 2nd To Bratislava - G - Sven Wolf LW - Alokin Alset S50 Brampton 3rd Yeah, we know what you're thinking. That's one hell of a fucking price for a waiver claimed goalie. It's a little crazy - some may call it steep. This is what I call it.. We're currently 28-5-1 and are chancing our luck at repeating and defending our title. Along with that, we're on a 12 game winning streak. We lost some strong players last season but still have a solid core. The other conference will be a difficult opponent but we wish to defend our title. We say challenge accepted. What we're missing is a goalie. We're doing this amazing without one - I think adding a 92 TPE goalie will give us another boost. Another crazy fact that I just noticed, we've scored the most goals and let in the least in the league. Neat! Evidently, next season the rebuild begins! But for one last year, the Watchmen will try and be #1. I want to give my group of guys one last run!

  9. Sven Wolf - G March 25th, 2016 Sven Wolf was born and raised in the historic, beautiful city of Stockholm, Sweden. There his family of 4 (mom, dad and brother) lived in an large, upstate suburb alongside the Baltic sea. With the house covered in black stone and magnificent, huge windows, the grass green as could be and always cut, and a Swedish flag standing tall and proud alongside a gated entry into the residence, it was safe to say Wolf came from a line of wealth. He participated in Stockholm's highly respected private schooling system and had attended one of the best school they had to offer. Within his school, was a hockey program like no other school in Sweden had offered. With the likes of Peter Forsberg and Tommy Salo running the program, the children were established from a young age. It was an important program to the school as hockey was extremely large in Sweden, so throughout the school week Sven spent 10 of the 40 hours on ice (2 hours a day). Hockey was a passion for Wolf and something he had from a very young age. Sven wore his first pair of skates when he was 2 years old and was skating by the age of 3. His father bought him his first pair of goalie pads when he was 6 years old and from there Sven found his passion for stopping the black piece of frozen rubber. Throughout his younger years of hockey, Sven outplayed most of the children his age. Although his father told him it was for fun and to just enjoy himself, he craved and desired to win and be the best. Season after season, the shelves soon became full at the Wolf residence of medals, pictures and trophies. It was an accomplishment his father was proud of. The Wolf's family revolved around hockey and knew that their son has a dream since young to play professionally. Due to their privileged lifestyle, his father honored his sons dream and did anything possible to help him reach his goal. Every year after hockey season, Sven did not hang up the skates and put the pads away until next season. No febreze scent touched the bag and the helmet was not retired on shelf until the puck dropped again. It was time for hockey school, an additional program outside his regular schooling that allowed Wolf to spend as much time focusing on improvement. As he became older, Sven Wolf became the talk of Stockholm and a majority of Sweden. His name was in the papers and even sometimes on the news. There was the phenomenal young kid who was shaping out to be a star. He was tagged with the nickname "The Black Wolve", and by his friends as "The Beast". He continued playing in house leagues until one night his family received a phone call. Sitting around the table late one night, the phone rings. His father answers and after a brief conversations his father entered the room and told Sven someone wished to speak to him. The Stockholm Junior Vikings were on the other line and had expressed to Sven how they've been watching him for 2 seasons and loved his determination, focus and playing style. 2 months later and after immense training in his backyard with his father, Sven Wolf was the new back up for the Junior Vikings in Stockholm. For the first half of the season, Wolf worked to earn his way up the charts and to make a rush for starting goalie. His play was consistent and strong, however, due to his age, they gave their original starting goalie the nod the whole year. Through the 62 game season, Wolf appeared in 20 spotting a record of 14-4-2 with a GAA of 2.56 and a SV % of .920. The following season, Stockholm's starter was drafted to a new league and Wolf got the nod. He took over in the teams net and after the first month of the season, all of Stockholm knew about him. He was featured in the papers each week. "The Beast Takes Over", "The Boy Who DID Cry Wolf", "With Teeth Like a Beast" are what some of the headlines read. He led the team on a 8 game winning streak that month and throughout the rest of the 62 game season, rocked a record of 41-13-2 with a GAA of 1.88 and SV% of .931. He led his team through playoffs and his team eventually lost out in game 7 of the championship finals. Immediately following the game, Wolf was approached with his family by 2 Swedish Elite League Scouts. They offered him a tryout in 3 weeks and offered him their congratulations on an amazing, successful season. Wolf accepted and told them to expect his best. His best is what they received and Wolf ended up making the team, once again as the backup goalie. He played the 72 game season, however, sat on the bench for 53 games. His season was strong and his club knew he was an excellent goalie, but the age factor and fact that they had another strong goalie pushed Wolf to be the backup. The team lost out in the first round of playoffs and offered for Wolf to come back the following season. While Wolf was appreciative of their offer, he expressed interest in coming over and trying his luck in the largest league in the world, the Victory Hockey League. Shortly after the decision, his family went through some turbulence. His father got into an accident one night on the highway coming home from work. The roads were icy and the snow was blanketing the roads. Visibility was extremely low and the worst case scenario had struck the Wolf family. Sven's father had collided with a big truck, throwing his body from the vehicle and destroying it on impact. Nothing was left and his father was found cold and lifeless in the ditch. Due to the tragedy, Wolf missed half of the season and took time to spend it with his mother and brother. It was a very dark period for Wolf and he wanted time to sort things through. On his return to the ice 3 months later, he sported a black wolve on his mask, with large teeth snarling. It was ferocious and impressive, but along the side of his mask was a birthdate and death date and the initials HW, for Henrik Wolf. He played the rest of the season out and told himself for his father that he was going to make it big. As of last week, the Victory Hockey League had no idea who Sven Wolf was. They'd never heard of the name, never saw him play and for that, couldn't give him a chance. Now, he's a member of the Brampton Blades and is working his way up to honoring his father who is proudly watching him from above. On his new Blades mask, is still the dates and the initials HW. Prior to every game, Wolf taps the posts, claps his blocker and glove together and then points to the sky with his glove. A salute to his father for watching over him and helping guide his success, and a little jolt to tell his dad "You're gonna want to watch this game. I'm feeling good". Where he ends up in the VHL is a mystery. With numerous goalies, it's tough to say. However, we feel like this kid is going to be something strong. Keep your eyes on Wolf - the BEAST is here!
  10. Took sometime for this shit rule to be changed
  11. As you laid in bed late at night, all tucked away ready for slumber, you listened to the voice of your papa tell you countless stories of princes, warriors, pigs and such. If you can think back so far to remember a tale of a little boy who cried Wolf, there's obvious reasons as to why. However, the story papa told you was much less true and very much so appropriate for your eyes as a wee little lad. It's safe to say the forests were never safe and that the shadows remained black day in and day out to hide something. Some beast, some predator with the power, strength and willingness to fuck up anything that crossed his path. But, it's not all that it seems. In the forest, the trees always blocked the sun and kept things cool. Thus, because of the ideal setting in Sweden, the kids built a rink and on that ice. It was there that the beast called home everyday after school with his friends. It was there that he carved his game into almost perfection. The dark predator is here and in short time, will be sinking his teeth into opponents. OH LORDY OH LORDY, Sven Wolf. Just give me the tpe. After that Rookie Profile my fuckin brain hurts.
  12. Sven Wolf Rookie Profile (VHLFutures.com) Name: Sven Wolf Position: Goalie Birthplace: Stockholm, Sweden Birthdate: September 13th, 1994 (21 years old) Height: 6'3" Weight: 210 pounds Number: 30 When it comes to players to keep your eyes on, Sven Wolf should definitely be on your radar and most likely could be a member on your "top 5" list of players currently pushing to go 1st overall in the upcoming draft. If he isn't, you should head back to your list, get out your white out and find a way to ink him down. While he we unknown to the VHLM and VHL as of last week, he's recently came into the leagues with fire and has made it his mission to truly become a top prospect and draftee candidate. Although he is newer to the league than most, his skill level is much the same and is already higher than some of those who have had a little more time to develop. Wolf is one of the most consistent goalies currently in the game today with a work ethic that really raises him above the group. He's a team first kind of guy looking to make it big and honestly, we think he's going to do just that. Sven Wolf Player Ratings PROS 1. Work Ethic - Wolf has the tendency to over do himself and that's simply because the kid has no limits. He knows where he wants to be and that's to make it big in the VHL. Right off the bat, he jumped into the VHLM training facilities and has proven that he's already stronger than a majority of the VHLM prospects. His efficient and consistent training and determination to become better is something that's going to set him apart from the other draftees who fall to "average". 2. Consistency in performance - Wolf's game, since young, has always been consistent. Throughout his junior years in Sweden, he has played on another level than most the player in the league and around his age. Game after Game, he finds a way to keep a level head and to not let things play on his mind. He posts strong numbers 90-95% of the time and for a young guy, that's pretty impressive. 3. Loyalty - Sven Wolf spent his entire career with one junior team. At one point, the team went through a rebuild and despite tough times seeming to come, he asked to stay with the team. Although no championship that season, they somehow managed to stay in the season until the second round of playoffs. Along with that, Wolf has also released a statement stating he'd be happy to go to a rebuilding team in the VHL, so as long as they remained loyal to him for his career and that they'd work together to form a dynasty. While he is willing to, he's unsure of playing behind someone - especially if it's for more than one season. CONS 1. He doesn't pull out - Poor sexual innuendo aside, he doesn't take too kindly to being pulled in a game unless it's absolutely need it. During a playoff game last season, the team was up 4-3 in the 3rd period with 4 minutes to play. During that time, the opposing club scored and Wolf was yanked. Wolf went straight to the coach and had a heated exchanged of words. Although it may seem bad, at least the kid has passion and when it comes to goaltending, the position takes a lot of energy and skill. He deserved the game and was pissed. We'd be too! 2. He Enjoys The Spotlight/Tries too hard sometimes - While this always isn't a bad thing, it can be a ticking time bomb for a lot of goalies considering the stress level and importance of the position. His goal is to win and be the best possible goalie he can be. His goal is to be number one and he's willing to put in the work to achieve that. His goal is to win every award and to win as many championships as possible. However, with ones expectations comes ones disappointment. Often though, he channels it into something positive but it can affect him for a few games. 3. He has his eyes on a certain VHL team and is Unhappy in the VHLM - Could this be a red flag? Honestly, it's too hard to say. It's okay for players to be unhappy ona team and it's obvious young players always have favorite places to goalie. For a goalie, it's the best option to where they're needed. Although Wolf is unhappy on a struggling, weaker Brampton Blades, he would never ask to be dealt. It's his organization. He respects that and is honored for the opportunity. OVERALL As we stated earlier in the review/profile, Sven Wolf is one of the biggest players in our minds to currently watch. He entered the league early on but currently is near the top of the pack for skill set. Along with that, his cons are very minor, especially when compared to his pro traits. We feel as though this is not a player that's going to slow down anytime soon and you can expect him to reach "elite status" sooner rather than later. This is a goalie that has the Aidan Shaw trophy written all over him and is definitely a goalie that VHL teams should have on their lists.
