The alarm rang, my head turned and the automatic thought to my brain was, "fuck yes, no work on a Friday". As I sat at the kitchen table, sipping a coffee (2 cream, 2 sugar), I figured to place a bet with my other fellow foreman on the Belgium/Wales game. A total of 140 on the game for Belgium to pull off the victory and win us around $250 on 1.85 odds. Following that, I thought to myself, "Oh shit, I have a media spot needing to be done prior to the end of this week and haven't the slightest idea what the hell to write". I got to thinking and was thinking about all the Oilers signings today and the process they have gone through. With that, I figured they were fairly similar to the Calgary Wranglers and/or the Seattle Bears of the VHL. Thus, the idea of NHL to VHL came to mind. Don't bitch if I butch it, but enjoy the effort and small amounts of entertainment the idea will bring. Seattle Bears - Edmonton Oilers Seattle = Edmonton. Why not one last Oilers Gif with Hall in it? R.I.P I believe the team that is most suited for the Bears is the Edmonton Oilers. While the team had a successful few years, they've faded from contention and have fallen off the maps when it comes to elite, experienced talent on their roster. While that may be the case, they have a lot of fairly strong youth assets on their roster and seem to be building through the draft. Alike the 2016 off season, the Oilers seem to be making moves to strengthen their club, something the Bears wish to do as well. Another similarity is the fact that the Oilers and Bears both are attempting or had attempt to gain positional needed assets via the Rookie Drafts (this years draft, AK47, Podarok, Sven Wolf etc). One thing, in my opinion, that the Bears have done better than the Oilers is claimed a goalie. @ADwyer87 @701 @Beketov Toronto Legion - Florida Panthers Sometimes Winsgate gets scored on too, just like LuoLuo.Both eventually will need walkers too. Still one of the best. Obviously you could compare this team to a lot of teams throughout the NHL, but I think this one isn't too bad. They're an average aged team, with an aging, elite goalie who is on his way out eventually soon. They're a top of the league and have some great talent to go along with it. Alike the Panthers, their roster is a mix of elite, average and extremely mediocre talent and have the potential of falling down the standings significantly once they're bigger, older stars (Jagr, Luo) retire. @Molholt @Cowboy Calgary Wranglers - Toronto Maple Leafs Huge similarity between these 2? Their fans and them rarely get excited or have anything to cheer for. First things first, one of the biggest similarities is that both of the teams last season sucked a lot of shit through a straw. Neither the Leafs, nor the Leafs could get things going and both teams traded away significant pieces of their roster to other competing teams (Phaneuf, Kessel etc). One difference the teams currently have is goaltending as the Leafs fixed that issue, however, we feel as though the Wranglers won't be too far behind with filling that role. This off-season, the Leafs landed the overall pick in the Lotto Draft, drafting a huge prospect as such, and the Wranglers seem to be making their way to that as well. @eaglesfan036 @EaglesMulti Quebec Meute - Pittsburgh Penguins Great team, excellent depth and elite talent. Future cup winners? Likely so. Some will say, hey Bobby, quit blowin smoke up our assholes but one can't stray away from the fact that the Quebec Meute are largely similar to this seasons NHL Stanley Cup Champs, the Penguins. As much as you hate the cunts, they're an excellent team who know how to put up the W's. With a great goalie leading the way (Clegane/Fleury), along with an excelling center (whoever Draper is and Crosby. Yeah, I just compared you to the league bitch @Draper ). Along with that, the GM pulled off some excellent trades to pull in some real talent (Hamilton - Kessel) so props to both GM's @brovy @sterling That'll do for today. Next week I may do players? Sven Wolf sets up Diana Maxwell for the 3rd period tally VS the Red Wolves The start of the season was a mess for Sven Wolf as it seen him switching from a really established, talented young goalie to a center learning a new trait. Some were optimistic on how he would do, others were high believers and others were really questioning his ability to switch positions and still become a young player who the potential of becoming elite. However, it seems as though Sven Wolf may simply be a natural hockey player with any given position coming natural to him as it seems he's almost a better center man than he was a goaltender. During S49's draft and right after switching to the position, Wolf was picked up by the Brampton Blades and added onto a team of offensive chaos. With players like Diana Maxwell ( @Streetlight ), Theo Axelsson ( @solas ), some nice depth players and more depth on the blueline, it looked like paradise for those looking to try and rack up the points. Later on, the team also added Jack Kraken ( @jack ) who has exploded since coming over to the Blades organization, tripling his Points Per game average since. Now, Wolf tends to be the 2nd and 3rd guy when it comes to being tallied up on the goal sheet. He's not known to score lots of goals, nor score the big ones and he's completely okay with that. He currently prides himself on being one of the VHLM's natural play makers and states that while he is young, he's still putting up incredible numbers that are competing with players a year ahead of him in age and development. Alongside that, Sven Wolf can also win faceoff's draws like it's nobodies business and is currently sitting first place in the VHLM with his winning percentage. With the playoffs approaching and his possible debut with the Bears coming quicker and quicker each day, one would be intrigued to see what the young center is going to focus on when it comes to his personal development on the ice and in the locker room. With that, let's take a look back at what the young centers done so far with a quick recap of his progress thus far. Wolf pumping iron (more than Podarok @ADwyer87 ) 143 TPE (after updates go in) Sven Wolf has managed to gain 143 TPE so far and has done it all before the playoffs have even started. With the playoffs and all the TPE that will come from that, it's very easy to think that Wolf will be pushing passed the cap limit for the VHLM and will be debuting next season with the Seattle Bears. He's chasing winger AK47 right now on the Bears team for development gains and states "I'm just focusing on me. I know where I'm being drafted, what my job is going to be and that if I can make this push, I am guaranteed a #1 center position. That's what I want!" With 70 SK, 70 PH, 70 PA, 75.5 FO, 52 SC etc, it' going to be exciting watching the future of this players quick development! 18 G, 65 A, 83 PTS in 72 GP Something we'll briefly touch upon as we already had above, but Wolf currently is playing as a play maker in the VHLM and is truly focusing on his passing skills. Although he has stated a couple times that his scoring will increase dramatically, one can't help but wonder which direction he will take once he makes it to the VHL. Everyone loves to score those big goals, but there's very few big-time play makers in the VHLM and his presence as one would surely make an impact for the Bears. We expect a possible 89 SC, 99 PA in the future. 68.11 FO% (1st in the league) As a young, rookie in the VHLM, it's a little surprising to see that Sven Wolf is winning a huge amount of his draws (slightly over two-thirds) and is sitting atop the kingdom when it comes to such statistic. This is another trait that the young player focuses on fairly significantly and has spoken to media regarding it countless times saying he wants to be ready if he is in the big leagues. He's counted on to win draws and that's what he plans on doing. So over the next while, it'll be interesting to see how and what he does with the FO development and other things that could help define him as an elite, young draw winner.

Prior to the trade, Jakab Holik managed a record of 13-18-4, with a 2.86 GAA and a .911 S%. With the trade that sent Muller and Clegane one way and Holik back to the Bears, the league has seen a much different side to the young goalie. With Davos, he was a young up and coming goalie who had potential to come into form of an elite star one day. but with the Bears he's proved to the league that it could happen a lot sooner than we think. On a weaker roster, Holik has somehow put up some fairly consistent, strong number as he's boasting above the .500 win mark with a record of 16-15-1, a 2.05 GAA and a .923 SV%. With those totals, it puts him at 29-33-5 on the season with fairly competitive GAA and SV% numbers. I've said it countless times, but Jakab will be the guy that leads us through the season, deep into the playoffs and hopefully to a future of us lifting a cup over our heads. To give up a goalie like Sandro Clegane for a much younger player with potential is obviously a tough choice and potentially a small risk, but we knew right away Holik would become something big in Seattle. He's the 2nd highest merchandise earner, right behind Bogdan Podarok for amount of jerseys flying off the wall. The fans believe in him as much as we do and we're going to do everything possible to surround him with a strong core as soon as we can so that he truly has glory in his time here with Seattle.
