  1. Applying for team Europe so no one picks that bust Ylonen @Esso2264 And to win of course
  2. After a series of blowout wins the Lynx haven't been able to keep it up. Ottawa is now on the receiving end of the blowouts. Last year's champs are looking to still push for the cup and break the usual compete-rebuild-compete cycle. General Manager Diamond_Ace is going to look to change up some of the lines after the poor performance on offense, but also on defense. Rookie phenom Elias Dahlberg was tearing up the VHLM but has also had a slow down in offense, along with veteran linemate Chance Matthews and defenseman Gregor Raspuntinov. We asked Dahlberg on what he plans to do to help break his and his team's slump.
  3. Decided to do a graphic this week as I had writers block
  4. 1) The season has kicked off now, how do you feel about your team's performance to this point of the season? Feel like we've been pretty decent, couple tough losses but its fine. 2) What would you say has been your best performance in a game so far this season? Think I got a 4 point night, I'd say that was the best 3) For some of you this will have been your first week of experience with the sim, what are your thoughts on the sim engine thus far? Seems pretty detailed and accurate. 4) If you could bring in a brand new point task for the VHL, what would it be? Probably something NHL related, like an NHL predictions for a couple games that week. 5) The World Juniors cup will be happening in the near future, how likely do you think you'll be to representing your country? I think I'll be pretty likely, I got a ton of points so far. 6) Of all the logos in the VHLM, which one would you consider your favourite and why? Lynx is my favourite, gotta say it cause there my team and if I don't I'm benched haha
  5. Ottawa, Canada -- The Ottawa Lynx have had a mediocre start to the season, 8 games in with a record that contains 4 wins and 4 losses the previous champions haven't had a start that they wished for, but haven't had one that is terrible. On the brighter side though even though Ottawa hasn't had a great start, their top rookie Elias Dahlberg has. With 14 points in only 8 games he is tied for the team lead in points, 2nd in goals with 8, the leading rookie on his team, and the 2nd most points by a rookie this season, only behind VHLM veteran and recent VHL draftee Nathan McKinnon. Dahlberg had an okay start to the season, putting up 4 points in 3 games but he and his team have really picked it up with back to back to back blowout wins against Oslo and Halifax, with a total of 15 goals for and only 4 against in those 3 games. The Matthews-Dahlberg line drove the offense along with defenseman Gregor Rasputinov. Matthews, Dahlberg, and Rasputinov have 23 points between them in the last 3 games. After Ottawa's rough start to the season it seems the General Manager Diamond_Ace clearly inspired them leading to this spike in offense, but the increased offense shouldn't overlook the great goaltending that Finn Davison has put up. After having a tough start he finally turned things around and is posting a 0.890 SV% and a 2.89 GAA. We asked Elias Dahlberg on his thoughts so far about his team, his hot start, his time in Ottawa, and his thoughts on the league. "Well this is a couple of questions so I may forget, just remind me if I do haha. Uhh, but for your first question about my team I've really enjoyed them. It's a great locker room dynamic that we got here, when I first entered the room Matthews welcomed me, told me about the team, how to get started and all that. He really welcomed me and we clicked instantly. But of course all the guys are great, we got a great team here and I'm really happy here in Ottawa. I definitely owe my hot start to Matthews. He's been in this league longer than me and he's taught me a lot but also set my up a lot. This is some tough competition in this league, a lot harder than Sweden. I've definitely wanted to prove myself against all the people who doubted me and passed on me in the draft, and the puck is now in their net. I've gotten some good chances and I hope I can keep this up and hopefully help out Ottawa. Ottawa is a great city, its much bigger than where I grew up but I definitely enjoy the city. You can tell that this city has a great atmosphere and the fans here really support us. It was weird driving here since everyone is so nice and lets you go by first, whereas in Sweden it was a mess haha. This is a great league to play in, they really support us and care about us the players. The players here are great too, I've made friends on the ice on different teams. Of course in game you hate each other but off the ice almost everyone is great friends. Speaking of great friends I've been talking with Joel Ylonen. He's been an amazing friend, also a fellow rookie we came into the league having no clue what to do but we've helped each other get through this, and we are looking forward to playing together in the Sponsors Shield and hopefully on the same team at the World Juniors." 617 words for use of the week ending Oct 28
  6. @McWolf could try moving him up to RW with me and Matthews, but then we don't have some spread out scoring
  7. I either get 0 or 2-3 points. Interesting. although ill take 3 any day
  8. That sucks, if you got another team I'll have one too
  9. 2 points for dahlberg but 0 for ottawa
  10. The rookie phenom and hyped S64 prospect Elias Dahlberg has come right out of the gate. In his first game against Halifax 21st he got an assist off of a nice powerplay goal by Iniquity. In the second period Dahlberg racked up another assist off of a goal by Robert Renner. In the third Dahlberg scored the game winning goal for his first in the VHLM off of a pass from Matthews. He had quite the shot and was able to put it past the Halifax goaltender. Dahlberg's 3 points along with Renner's 3 helped push the Lynx past Halifax 4-2. In the second game Dahlberg was held scoreless as Halifax came out hard and fast and blew out the Lynx 5-1. The only scorer for the Lynx in that game was Mark Gebauer on the PP in the 2nd. In Dahlberg's 3rd game he was able to get on the scoresheet on a 2nd period goal in the 5-3 loss to Oslo. Dahlberg has had a hot start with 4 points (2 goals and 2 assists) and is looking to rack up more in the next couple. 10th in the league for points and goals he is looking to improve on that and hopefully come in the top 3 at the end of the season.
  11. 1) Out of the players brought in through free agency/waivers post-draft (John Madden, Bobby Power, Brick Wahl, Mark Gebauer, Evgeni Komarov, Divaani Sohva, Finn Davison, Jonathon Hill, Kyson Blake), who do you think will go on to have the best career? Brick Wahl, even his name says what his potential and role will be 2) What are your thoughts on the player management section of the portal? Anything you'd like to see added to it? Looks good, somewhere to manage all your purchases and finances would be great 3) Who is the one member in the league who you would like to play on the same team as? Joel Ylonen, me and him will be a dream team in the Shield though. 4) If the VHL or VHLM were to ever expand, what cities would you like to see represented? Vancouver and Rio 5) Who do you think will be in the top four picks in the Season 64 Draft Class? Me (Hopefully), Perwa, Sullivan, and Zabby 6) What would you say is the best graphic that you've seen on the VHL? All of Quik's look amazing, I tried one and sucked at it so now I've decided to do articles
  12. Calgary - JoltJuice is one of the biggest energy drink producers, and its no wonder why the decided to sponsor the VHL along with many other brands that include Viking, True North Gear, NETFLEX, and Haterade. Brands were rushing at the opportunity when the VHL announced they were finaly open to allowing sponsors. The VHL also went further to support sponsors by having the Sponsors Shield, a battle royale tournament alternating every year with the World Cup. The VHL announced they would only allow 6 brands, but many brands applied and the VHL left it to a fan vote. The 6 brands chosen were: Haterade, Jolt Juice, NETFLEX, True North Gear, Ubuyalot Games, and VIKING. These are some of the biggest hockey brands in the world, and as they recruited players some favourites emerged and some not so favourites emerged. With the rosters being finalised I've decided to do a personal breakdown of my personal favourite, Jolt Juice. Jolt Juice, the most electrifying drink also brings one of the most electrifying teams. You know what they say, "defense wins championships", and Jolt Juice executive Rhett Stoffiday followed this method to a tee. Signing some of the top defense including first and second picks in the S63 VHL Entry Draft Kastelic and Wolf, and the 4th pick Sidney Crosby, there is no doubt this team is stacked on defense. Jolt Juice is also one of the youngest teams signing multiple rookies in the VHL and VHLM including Elias Dahlberg, Joel Ylonen, and Crosby, Wolf, and Kastelic. Even though the team is stacked on defense don't overlook their offense who includes Charm, Mulligan, Davis, and Pajari. Charm and Davis seem to be the two who will drive the offense, Charm putting up 90 points and Davis with 70 in the VHL. They are projected to play together but executive Stoffiday may scramble the lines a bit to spread out the offense. Some overlooked players who could be great together are Dahlberg and Ylonen. Two of the top 10 projected picks in S64 could both be on a line together and could be the dark horse of the Sponsors Shield. If the 2 prospects keep developing and training over the VHL season they could definitely help out a lot in Jolt Juice's Shield run. Backstopping the team are goaltenders Stoffiday and Pepper. Stoffiday the 22nd pick in the S63 draft is another VHL rookie on Jolt Juice, coming off a not so good season on the rebuilding Yukon Rush with 16 wins in 70 games, a 0.849 SV%, and a 3.60 GAA he is looking to improve these numbers next season. With multiple picks in the first 2 rounds of the VHLM draft Yukon looks to be a solid team and Stoffiday could improve those numbers with some hard training and a solid team in front of him. With the stacked defense Jolt Juice has Stoffiday could have an easier time in the Sponsors Shield then the VHLM, but he is facing the best of the best. Pepper is the second goalie and probably the starter for Jolt Juice, another rookie on the team he was picked 10th by Helsinki. Posting a solid 50 wins, a .896 SV%, a 1.99 GAA, and 10 shutouts he had an amazing season on the Aces. He is definitely the favourite starter for Jolt Juice, and playing in Helsinki this season he will get a taste of the tougher competition. Some tough training and practice in the VHL could really help him backstop Jolt Juice to the championship. Jolt Juice has some good offense, great goaltending, and even better defense. They are definitely my favourite to win, followed by Haterade to win the Shield. 616 words, for week ending 21/10
  13. 1. Well obviously Ottawa for drafting me, but I think Yukon had a great draft just because its hard to go wrong with 3 first round picks 2. Hopefully I'm known as a steal in the draft, and can have a great rookie season 3. Yukon definitley, I'm hoping that we can have a great season too and exceed expectations 4. Ace is great, he's involved and friendly, same with the AGM McWolf. 5. Reddit Ad 6. Nothing, think I got it all down now.
  14. One of the most highly touted S64 prospects and recent S63 VHLM draft pick Elias Dahlberg was just signed to a 3 year, 1.5 million net deal with Jolt Juice. The signing which was just announced recently was a huge one, as brands have started to notice the VHL and have offered sponsorships to the best players. Dahlberg joins other players who have also been snatched up like defenseman Joseph McWolf and other VHLM forward Joel Ylonen. Brands are looking to sign the best players in anticipation for the S63 Sponsors Shield, the bi-annual tournament where the players of each brand face off in a battle royale hockey tournament. We asked Elias for a statement and this is what he said
  15. Worst Team: Mercs Bronze Medal: USA Silver Medal: World Gold Medal: CAN
  16. Oh Sick, I'll definitely do that, free uncapped TPE. Sweet
  17. Sure I'm in, don't really know how this works but I'll give it a shot
  18. Player Name: Elias Dahlberg VHL Team: Ottawa Lynx Cash you have: 1,500,000 Purchase Name: The First Generation Cost of Purchase: 500,000 Cash Left: 1,000,000
  19. 1. I'm hoping to be an elite two way forward who has a very strong defensive game but can also put the puck in the net. 2. I like Ottawa and Vegas. Both of their AGM's talked to me and welcomed me and I had a very friendly vibe. 3. I talked with Ottawa and Vegas. They asked me some questions about my play and overall were very friendly. 4. I don't really care where I go, as long as I get to play, grow, and prove myself. Although I would love to go in the 1st round as its every kids dream. 5. I don't think there is too much practice. There is always some way you can grow and make your self a better player. Like there is always something you can do better every game. Would could score 10 goals in one game but still make a silly turnover that you could fix. Everyone has good games but no one has perfect games.
  20. Mr. Dahlberg is ready to answer all of your questions.
