  1. Sad, it was great getting to know you and having you on Vancouver, you'll be missed, best of luck with everything
  2. 20 to CPAWS so 10 entries Lets get 40,43,53,54,56,57,95,96,98,99
  3. I mean true, but then your at least making the active decision to not rejoin, when someone can totally make the opposite decision.
  4. I mean i imagine there's still some value in building a following of current users, because maybe in like 3 years you've quit the league and forgotten about it, then you get a random vhl post in your ig feed since you never unfollowed, and you're like "damn VHL was fun I should check out how it's doing now". Though I do agree random standing posts are not going to be driving new traffic to the site
  5. I feel like daily or any social media posts are not the way to go. Like people have said it's just spamming irrelevant content to a few people who are autopilot scrolling. If you want to advertise I feel like it needs to be done to a large audience who is actually paying attention, which is why reddit and youtube have been so good in terms of numbers, you have a targeted audience who are already paying attention and are actively reading/watching, so they are actually hearing what is said and get interested. I think that recruitment needs to be much more focused on figuring out this method, instead of trying to manage social media. Recruitment should be looking at new avenues (new channels, twitch streams, forums, podcasts, etc), as well as figuring out how to improve retention from these avenues, since that's the biggest problem with them right now. Obviously it's been tried (new scripts and whatnot), but surely we can do better, start tracking some sort of analytics (views, retention rate, whatever), and work to improve those. I think investing effort into this instead of just shotgunning 1000 random instagram and twitter posts to the void is much more worthwhile. If you do want to do social media though, I think the focus needs to be on either tiktok/yt shorts/ig reels, since I have seen like random roblox football leagues or like minecraft hockey leagues making posts about the league, their history, recent games, and getting relatively high interactions. This can be a task for someone on recruitment to look into and see what's making this work for them. Anyways, why don't we just hire @badcolethetitan as recruitment head since he has a marketing degree, and then we just blame him for all the problems.
  6. 1. He's an amazing player, I can definitely see it 2. Sounds like a pretty cool title, no complaints 3. I think it'll help them, knowing that people are watching and recognizing their talent 4. I'd say top 5 easily, maybe top 3 if we play well 5. I'm not much of a ritual person 6. Sounds pretty cool, I'd definitely be interested
  7. 1. No I don't think it's weird. Just need to try things in practice and game to see whats best 2. That's great. Good relations 3. Definitely the 2nd, that guy is somehow incapable 4. I hear that propsect Eno Velvson is a generation talent 5. Local conspiracy newspaper? That is a HOT take. 6. Yes, I put in a lot of work with some other prospects and VHLers
  8. 1. No I don't think so, i think the team just didn't show up when they needed to, but the pieces were all there. 2. Saving some shots would be helpful 3. I think both are great players who will contribute greatly to the franchise 4. No, but if Calaway likes pineapple on pizza then it might be time to look for a new org. 5. I'd agree, I think the team is strong and we've fixed some shortcomings 6. Of course, he's a great player with a great heart.
  9. no one tell Bek about decimals
  10. feel like it's a little harsh for calgary, 3 games could definitely just be a simple mistake + not like it really impacted anything. extra bot games worth 6 points each and they're 8+ points between everyone else in standings. warsaw makes sense, double amount of backup games is pretty excessive, but still think it only impacts NYA really. should just swap their odds and take off like 5-10% maybe. i don't mind the severe punishment to set precedent though so don't have to deal with this in the future
  11. did you really read the bible front to back
  12. 1. Exceeded my expectations for sure. 10/10 2. Eh, I was hoping to have some more points after being traded to a contender, but everything kind of fell off. It's only the M though so I'm not too mad. 3. Nah, Frost do Frost. Gives humanity to the team 4. For sure, having someone who can lead on the blueline definitely reassures the rookies that if they make a mistake it'll be fine 5. If the regular season says anything, I would expect us to make conference finals at least. It'll be close with Toronto. 6. I mean that's kind of just a thing as they age. They'll be replaced with better younger talent. That's not to say they aren't key pieces of the team though
  13. 1. I would agree, I think we have an LR full of great people 2. Probably not, playoffs definitely have less offense and teams will be figuring out how to shut them down. Need our secondary scorers to step up. 3. I don't think it matters, the Dragons are definitely playing for the European market. 4. It's definitely an option, but more of a last resort. 5. Probably not, Lass and Adolfsen are just really sexy, if we put Geoff Bezos in there no way he's selling anything. 6. Calaway is certainly the future of the franchise, so re-signing him was GM Frostbeard's most important duty this season.
  14. fun fact: if we assume 11 players (6-4-1) for each team there would be 880 possible duos and 2640 trios!
  15. 1. The Canucks 2. I like the Ravens in the NFL but don't really follow them 4. Yeah I've played at video game LAN tournaments in Halifax and Moncton. We got half shit on but it was really fun 5. "Water" 6. Honestly I think the main thing I'd look for is how they act off the ice. Building a good LR culture (and not getting in social media scandals) is underrated 7. Is this wrestling? I don't follow it so yeah don't really care.
  16. I got 95 DF in 585 TPE 90 DK 75 BC 98 PC 90 DC I think this is the most efficient you can do? I essentially just upgraded whichever attribute would give the most DF/TPE
  17. 1. Both are definitely threats, but I'm not sure if I'd call them the best defensive duo in the league. I think Vancouver has a really strong d-core that probably holds that title 2. Classic Jason tbh 3. I definitely think the team should be promoting local. Seems like a bit of corruption going on considering the team's management is latvian/danish 4. I think it sounds about right, the bottom of NA is really weak, so I can totally see us in 5th 5. I mean they stayed anonymous, they should stand by their words instead of hiding 6. Definitely, it's good for the team to have that role model and example being set
  18. I mean ideally it'd be properly designed to avoid this. like even in my example if you have 96 dk and in 2nd season of regression you'd go down to 93. if you have 95 you'd go down to 93. either way it's the same result after regression and you get to play the season with 1 higher dk. if there does end up opportunity for regression planning with this and keeping attributes lower that's fine to me as well, since it involves actively thinking about a build, and already happens with salary cap brackets.
  19. people already can't understand progressive taxation and this seems even more confusing. would it just be better to depreciate a fixed value of each attribute depending on the bracket it's in? ex. if dk is above 95, you lose 2/3/4 depending on season. if it's 90<dk<95 you lose like 1/2/3 depending on season. if it's below 90 you lose like 0/1/2 depending on season. Obviously these numbers don't make sense as is, but something along these lines could possibly be good and seems way more straightforward.
