Hey there all! With some recent shuffling of VSN staff, we have a few openings to improve coverage. In this vein, welcome @TopTiddee2 to the team! They will be helping out with VHLM related content with their first post coming soon 👀!
 
Now onto openings! For regular VSN, I am looking for two or more dedicated writers to assist with VHL/E related content. Your responsibilities would include writing an edition of VHL Weekly every two weeks, recapping the past week in the VHL. Additionally, you would contribute to VSN's irregular projects, such as ranking articles, WJC/WC coverage, and any other ideas that come to mind. Feel free to brainstorm some yourself! Job Pay is 8 capped TPE, which replaces your PT for the week. Word requirements are 600+ for one week's pay, and 1100+ for two (what you will likely be writing). I'm looking for someone who has strong writing skills, can put out consistent, quality work, and enjoys diving deep into the trends and topics around the VHL. 

Next opening, is another role within VSN Scouting. As a part of VSN Scouting, you would be working under our head scout, @jacobcarson877. You would be helping out with big articles such as the Mock Draft, VSN Scouting's Future Watch, and other projects that highlight up and coming players in our community. Job Pay is the same as previous; one week of 8 capped TPE for 600+ words, and two weeks for 1100+ words.
 
Lastly, we are looking to hire one or two more people to do graphics for our articles. Job pay for this would be 8 TPE per graphic, each graphic would accompany a article.

Here's what I'd do if I was the VHL Dictator for a day
 
1. Delete the M: I'm sick of hearing all this propaganda about deleting the VHLE when the real issue is the garbage league that is the VHLM. I'd propose that we'd completely drop the M and make members work for a spot on a team. You get to play in the JST and that's it. After that, you have to earn past 200 tpe and try out for a VHLE team. This will get rid of the pesky lifers such as sjin and dyl which will greatly improve the league's quality of life, and as a bonus would discourage new members from joining unless they are dedicated to the VHL grind 😤.
 
2. Move Geneva back to Yukon: The greatest injustice the league has ever done was moving the Yukon rush to Geneva. The Yukon Rush was the greatest club to ever exist and the evil corrupt BoG couldn't stand having something good in the VHL. So to fix this great injustice the Rush will be moved back to Yukon and will receive 2 1st rounders every season. In addition, the GM of the Rush will receive 12 capped + 4 uncapped tpe weekly in job pay and will have its player's cap limit raised to 500. To limit travel all of the Rush's games will be home games. Because of this change, they will no longer be in Europe meaning the VHLE will be rebranded to the VHLEATGToATTYR or (Victory Hockey League Europe And The Greatest Team of All Time The Yukon Rush) This will make all teams be represented in the league name. 
 
3. Fix the VHLE teams: The oslo storm logo is goofy get rid of the team and replace them with the Berlin steel. They will use the JST Steel logo as it is superior to every other logo in the VHL and it is a crime it wasn't used in the first place. The Stockholm Viking will e replaced with the Stockholm Aces who will steal the now-defunct Vegas Aces' logo. And finally, the Vasteras Iron Eagles will be replaced with the Beaumont-le-Roger Barons who will be a sister team of the Beaumont Barons of the SBA and will share a logo. This will make the ugly VHLE teams look cool and will promote and strengthen the SBA-VHL partnership.
 
4. Encourage Greenlandic Growth: To further simulate how much superior Greenlanders are at hockey than every other nation, all Greenland players upon creation will receive 20 uncapped tpe and will receive 3 tpe from practice facility. While players from other nations will receive a 2-week tpe ban and may only cap up to 11tpe weekly during their first season. Greenland will also receive 2 WJC teams and 2 WCoH teams.
 
5. Ban Viper: Ban @Viper that dude suuuuuuucks. There can only be two IA members with GM jobs and that's me and @Sjin. 

Anyways I hope you agree with the changes I proposed and hopefully, the BoG can start implementing these immediately.

Review:
Interesting effects you have going on with this graphic. Has that frosted glass look and I really like the results. The balance is off slightly but not bad. I really like the logo on the render and the background. I am assuming the lack of contrast is a design choice as the render's face blends into the background. I think the noise really makes this graphic work. The text is working but I think the font combo could be better. I struggle with text all the time so this isn't a big deal. Great job overall.

I discovered that Juan Ceson still has an impact in Las Vegas, but there are too many questions on Stan Par and what impact Stan will have in Saskatoon.  Let’s get real @dylanjj37, Juan Ceson was a legend in Las Vegas and he inspired many to come to Las Vegas and visit the city.  With the Juan Ceson Zoo being the center of attraction, and the Juan Ceson Hotel was always at capacity.  The Juan Ceson Airport has been a convenience for all travelers.
 
Here are the questions for you, Stan Par.  Please provide some answers.
 
1). Is Stan Par going to have as big of an impact in Saskatoon as Juan Ceson did in Las Vegas, or is Stan Par going to be sub-par?
 
2). Does Stan Par plan on building a zoo in Saskatoon, and if so will the zoo match the level of quality as the Juan Ceson Zoo?
 
3). What promises did @Viper and @badcolethetitan make to Stan Par to lure Stan over to Saskatoon?
 
4). When Juicee Thunder joins the VHLM after Jake Thunder retires, will Stan Par allow Juicee to play on Saskatoon with him, or will Stan refuse to allow the new Thunder to be a teammate?

The legend, Juan Ceson, @dylanjj37, retired in Las Vegas, leaving the city lonely and void of all future hope of reviving everything Juan Ceson left.  The Juan Ceson zoo is no longer; the animals have been on a hunger strike ever since Juan Ceson departed on the Juan Ceson jet from the Juan Ceson private airport.  The Juan Ceson Resort and Casino has been taken over by the mob and the Juan Ceson race track is out of gas.  @Blazzer was unable to keep things status quo in Vegas but she was blindsided by @Viper and @badcolethetitan.
 
There is a new legend in the making, that being Stan Par.  Stan Par signed with Saskatoon and promised many things by Viper and Cole.  And as far as the hockey playing goes, it appears that Stan Par is on par for a repeat of statistics equivalent, if not better than Juan Ceson.  Stan Par is already dominating the VHLM in blocked shots, and is right behind the hits leader, soon to overtake the #1 spot.

The side project VHLE star Shubham Anand has spent a season working on is finally ready for the world. GoGear is a new company set to change how people buy sporting goods forever. Shubham Anand seems to maintaining control of the GoGear while playing in the VHLE. While the company plans to start in and around the San Diego area, plans are already in the works for potential expansion across the Southern United States, into Canada, and all over the globe. Time will tell if this dream can carve a place in the sporting good market and live up to the lofty goals of its founder. But it seems in business, just like in hockey, you don't underestimate Shubham Anand.

We're starting a new VHL season, huzzah. If we followed the traditional VHL off-season schedule, we wouldn't have had the index made until today and sims until Wednesday. I blame the expedited scheduling following an early week playoff end for why VHFL sign-ups and the groups went up so late. But realistically, I just forgot with everything else that happens in the offseason along with a week-long work trip. Got to hang out at Gillette Stadium and wear some Super Bowl rings:

 
At least I got to wear the championship rings that matter, since I'll never win here in the VHL. We'll see how this season goes, hopes are high as usual, but it feels a bit better than the last few seasons. Maybe it's the high following 3 players combining for 9 awards, or a massive trade over the offseason that brought in some great folks, or even just the promotion of long-time infamous IA member @Viper to the team. Lot of things went well this offseason, and the season start has been pretty neat to see as well. We'll see how long it lasts.
 
Nico's been fitting in well with Vancouver during this second stint. The team is buzzing, 6 players over a PPG so far through 5 games. Everyone's really clicking together which is great to see compared to the S86-ish time when it seemed like we just weren't gelling together. @STZ might have been the steal of my Super Coach team, already with 5 goals to start the season. Keep it up kid, and get me more hits.

Welcome to the new season of VHFL, and apologies for the delay. Due to work travels and a delayed sign-up post, we will begin VHFL simultaneously with the VHL season. Below is the randomly assigned draft order for your group. 

The draft is conducted in a snake order, meaning that each round goes in reverse order of the last. There is a time limit of 12 hours per pick. If the person ahead of you has not picked in their 12-hour slot, you may make your selection, and they can make up their pick anytime after the skip. If a member misses two picks without communicating to me or the GM - not necessarily consecutive, they will be disqualified and the team will be drafted by me or a filler I appoint. If someone has two picks in a row and fails to do the first one before 12 hours pass, tag them and give them another 12 hours for the second pick in a row. Once you have made your selection, tag the person following you. 

Group Manager: It is your responsibility to make sure that picks are being made within 12 hours, and if not, that the clock keeps going for the next pick. Please also have a complete roster within the first few posts of the thread - this saves me time later so that you get your results faster! Please also be sure of each player’s position, and that they are not retired nor in the VHLM before adding them to your roster! When maintaining the updated roster, please copy the roster template below, exactly how it is. Make sure to also spell player names properly when updating your group. Do NOT copy the roster for every single pick.

Well hello, it's me again. Usually I'd scale down the giant grumpy Menace man but I'm doing this on my phone so you get the giant face today. It's always a thrill to announce our leadership group, especially after a season when some of our team leaders stepped up their game to a new level and won multiple VHL awards. @BOOM snapped out of his award drought and collected the top Offensive and Overall defenseman awards. Team AGM @Brandon secured the Goal Leader and Most Improved awards. And our captain @Arce locked down the Points Leader and Most Outstanding Player award. We're extremely proud of our leaders, and look forward to seeing what this next season's leaders can accomplish on the ice.
 
First Alternate - Hammar Voss - @BOOM
 
Three seasons with the "A" was all Voss needed to secure his recognition, so he's certainly earned his fourth consecutive season. The votes in S87 were close, and Voss fell just short of some covered hardware. In S88, the superstar eliminated any doubt that he is the best defenseman in the VHL. His constant desire to exceed and be a fantastic LR member makes our team a better place for competition and good times. We're very excited to have Voss finish out his career here in Moscow and hope to make this season the best one yet.
 
Second Alternate - Tomas Sogaard - @Brandon
 
Typically I decline to name the team's AGM as a formal member of leadership group, but after a tremendous individual season and a lot of roster turnover this offseason, it's simply a no-brainer to have the currently longest tenured Moscow player be named as an alternate captain. Since he was drafted in S83, Sogaard has been a flexible player who complements anyone on the team. His leadership and experience is extremely appreciated.
 
Captain - Ronan Lavelle - @Arce
 
I truly wonder how many players have been named as captain on different VHL teams. A former captain for D.C.'s cup run a few seasons ago, Lavelle is simply the best choice to be our captain this season. His energy is infectious and he's one of the most vocal leaders on the team. After a massive MOP and Points Leader season in S88, Arce still only talks about getting Moscow that elusive Continental Cup. We're very fortunate to have him on our team, and I'm looking forward to the season ahead!

@VHLM GM To send in your lines please use the Team Management section of the portal, if you have manual requests due to waiver pick ups or other roster changes please PM me your notes. For this first set if there any any issues in your rosters please let me know as soon as possible so I can correct them before the first sim Friday. I made sure all rosters can be at least valid so we should have no problems there but if you're missing any players, if any players are the wrong position, or anything else I need to know. A reminder that the portal and the sim are different entities so having someone on your roster portal wise does not guarantee they will be in your roster sim wise. I have to add them manually so please be as clear as possible with any requests. Last bit of house keeping is a reminder that your lines should not be renamed in any way from the default. Changing the name at all will make the auto-load lines function skip your lines and I'm not likely to notice so please be sure they are simply named after your team as is the default.
 
Also like the last few seasons the farm system is on since it needs to be on all season or not at all. While the Junior system is not in use games will still be simmed (they are done at the same time) but they won't be posted. If we click Juniors over to being active (which has yet to happen) we'll get games posted for it as well. You guys will be in charge of your junior lines as well as your pro lines when the time comes to turn it on so make sure you remember that.
 
I cannot promise you a specific time for games, although 6:45PM EST is most likely; whenever games do run they will be live at the link below. I can't promise you they will be very entertaining; in fact I can almost guarantee that they won't be. However in an effort to be more transparent with our simming you will all be able to watch me click buttons in all it's glory. I will do my best to put a message on discord whenever I go live and you can use the #roles channel to subscribe to the notifications so you won't miss when sims are going live. I also suggest downloading the VHL App which will allow you to receive push notifications when games are posted.
