LA is all about inclusiveness, and one thing we do as a team, is vote together on who should wear the C, and the two A's on the season. We have a lot of amazing talent here in LA this season, I'm very proud to look at our roster and see so many amazing users lace up for us this season, and with that said, our final results of the team voting were as follows... ASSSITANT CAPTAIN #1 - Vinny Detroit ( @dasboot ) ASSISTANT CAPTAIN #2 - Callum Murray ( @Berocka ) and of course... our captain! Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems ( @FrostBeard ) I couldn't be more proud of the selections made by the team. This leadership group signify exactly what LA is looking for in a player. Someone who is loyal, ready to sink or swim with the team, and has shown nothing but great respect both on the ice, and especially in the locker room. Already considered leaders of the team, I find it a great honor in getting to name these three as captains. Congratulations to all of you, now lets play some hockey!

Swap will occur once draft order has been determined during that draft. @Wheaties we always have an amazing time whether you're my GM or I am yours, always a pleasure having you on my teams and having you as a teammate. Hey everyone This off-season has come with some changes and one of them being to management. I want to thank my good friend @fonziGGfor his time with the team, always appreciate the time and as always much love from me, never anything but. With the position of AGM I just need some lowkey help with a few things: - Weekly Press Conferences - Line/Strat input (will teach you STHS top to bottom if you don't know how to use it yet :D) - Activity in LR (even swinging in a couple times a day is huge for morale) - Assistance with general team input This month has been particularly hard on me, as I've lost 4 family members, and have been back and forth attending one funeral after the other. NEW YORK AMERICANS EARLIER THAN LAST WEEK PRESS CONFERENCE For Week-Ending of October 16, 2022 1). What is your favorite VHL-related meme? If not, make one up! Honestly I don't really look at memes so I have absolutely NO clue lol 2). What is the one thing you dread the most about keeping active in the VHL? Before it used to be my point tasks just because I felt like I was doing so many personal gfx for my page I was not getting motivation to do my tasks but now with VSN its a lot of fun! 3). What country is @Quik in today? (hint: not canada) Switzerland? IDK somewhere cool I bet. 4). As of 10/10/22, four teams in the NA are separated by 6 points, what will it take to get into the playoffs? Well we didn't make it cause I answered this super late so boo. 5). What is one attribute you will never utilize or add TPE to? I've got a pretty consistent build going around 5 main stats so any of the ones outside of that are no bueno 6). Should the VHL bring back the forum chat? Sure why not, they want forum activity, bring back a chat, right?

NEW YORK AMERICANS ALMOST TRADE DEADLINE PRESS CONFERENCE For Week-Ending of October 2, 2022 1). Tis the beginning of halloween season - what was the last costume you wore? I want to say I was like 11 or 12? Was my final year and I went out as ghostface... lol 2). Do you think New York will buy or sell this trade deadline? Honestly I think it's a little too late to buy, could've done that earlier in the season, may be good to hold or sell a little bit. 3). Should there be a cap on how many players come from a specific country in the VHL? Yes, diverisity is what makes the game what it is! 4). Why don't we wait for the new season's portal to come out before doing a VHFL draft? Because we are clueless? I have no idea lol 5). If water wasn't blue, which color would you want it to be? I mean water is sometimes brown, green, you name it. Could be any color, what if someone is colorblind 6). Has @JardyB10 mentioned you in any of his nodesodes this season? WHY NOT He has indeed, quite a few including his recent one ranking GM's.

Augustus Kennedy has seen a wild roller-coaster ride of a season once again as the team decides to win & lose almost every single sim lately. The current status however is... not good and the Americans are likely in a bit of 'damage control' to get themselves out of the hole. Augustus had this to say about his recent play and the team: "I am a little baffled by the results, don't get me wrong there are some elite teams in the league right now that deserve to be where they are, but I never would've suspected that this season we'd be as low as we are. I'm battling every game between the pipes but our offense is just not scoring enough goals to keep the team afloat. Does this mean I'm done with New York? Hell no, I just want to see the team pony up a little bit and put that dang puck in the net. I think we have the talent, an excellent new GM that has been a great presence thus far and a team that can go far, if we're given the opportunity. I guess I may need to say another prayer or two to get back into whoevers good graces I need to get back into..." And then he simply walked away to re-join his team back in the locker room.

1). Today New York opens the newspaper to find out they are on a 4-game winning streak. Is this the turn the team was looking for? It absolutely is honestly, we needed this boost badly. 2). Who is the team's LEAST likely player to recreate as a goalie? Probably me lol, done it once, I'm good now. 3). Will @nurx get to 50 points? Truthfully? I think it's pssible though I know Nurx is not happy with the current build/happenings of his player. 4). If you posted in another team's press conference, shame on you, but who would it NOT be? LOL probably Chicagos, I have my reasons.. 5). Do you ever read SHT (shots) as shits? @JardyB10 Of course, who doesn't? Feels irregular to call it anything else. 6). Truly or Whiteclaw? I don't drink myself so I can't really judge either one.

Typically I'd talk about just how good the LA Stars as a whole or doing and gloat a little bit because of course, what GM isn't going to do that about their team? But in reality one particular standout at the moment is the goalie holding the team down and taking control of the ice, and that is none other than Art Vandelay. When you talk about someone who is dominant, a lot of people don't expect to be talking about someone in their second professional season, but when you talk about a goalie standing on their head doing everything they can to help their team win, that person right now for the LA Stars, is indeed Art himself. Currently, Art is nearly leading or near the top of every major stat for goalies despite not maintaining the best actual record amongst goalies. Record aside, his numbers are really hard to shrug off and they certainly do speak for themselves. We look forward to seeing his future here in LA.

It was a rocky start for LA after much anticipation and hype, the team just did not get the ground work going the way they were expecting to, but lately the team has figured it out a little bit. Since a little line mixup, the team has won 5 of their last 6 with a current 3 game winning streak. The team seems to also be pretty spread out with some point scorers and the goalie of course but some standouts happen to be some newly acquired players, Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems, Brian Kowalski & Jason Argos. However those names are not the only one's on the scoring sheet, as DB III, Callum Murray and even defensive defensemen Scoish Velociraptor Maloish are stepping up to the plate and showcasing their talents. LA seems to be setup for some long-term success, if they can of course keep their core together for the foreseeable future. With everyone locked down for at minimum 2 more seasons, this could be a very great start to an even greater thing, all LA needs to do now is pad the team and keep the goals scoring, and the goals out. Art.. you got this!
