We briefly caught up with Mikko Aaltonen after they lost to Halifax 21st, with the scoreline of 1-2 Q: Hey Mikko! So far you have played 4 games and have gotten 6 goals and an assist, which is 6x more points than you had last season, how does it feel? It feels nice, as we all know I only played 11 games last season, but this season I was committed to starting off hot and without mercy. I felt really good on skates and yeah, the pucks just flew in themselves. Q: Talking about your first game in Philadelphia, how was it playing in front of a crowd that is getting a first impression of you guys as a team, and give me your general thought's on how the game went. The feelings were amazing, as soon as we skated on the rink, we were saluted by loud cheers from around the arena and let me tell you it was packed till the roof, everyone was loud and I felt that this is pretty much the best place I've played at, so far in my career. The crowd was constantly letting us know that we have their support and emotions were insane during the game, and I really felt like we were playing some awesome hockey for the fans. The game itself was close, and it felt like both teams wanted to start the season of with a bang, we just wanted this so much more for our fans, and I trully believe that we'll set some records for this franchise.

1) I think we've done just fine, beating Saskatoon 2 times and then losing to Minnesota & Halifax, both of these teams are strong and have good players, but we did our best and will continue throughout this season. 2) We're all excited before them and discuss stuff afterwards, how maybe we should switch-up the lines or change up something so that next time is better. 3) Since so far we've only played 3 teams, hard to say but I guess it's always fun to play a topdog like Minnesota, sure they might beat us most of the times, but playing against them we're underdogs and the pressure is on them, so I believe that gives us an advantage. 4) I'm confident in my abilities to make it in the 1st round, however will not worry if others surpass me. 5) I'm pretty much 100% hockey right now, I have wanted to start following basketball for a while now, so maybe in the future, but now only hockey. 6) Mikko always does the same things each gameday, tapes up his stick the same way before each game and always listens to the same rap music(that gets him in the fighting mood), before games he usually eats pasta, loves cooking it himself too... After games where he does very well, he celebrates it with a slice of pizza ^_^

Hans Gruber: Ode to John Candy (Biography) [2/2]
GRZ replied to TheFlash's topic in Archived Career Tasks
Review: Now to start off with, as a youngster and this being way before my time, I haven't heard about this film before, but only by reading this I might actually watch it sometime. Really interesting approach by using it to secretly mask in your player's biography in there, clever idea. I like that you didn't shy of the traditional methods of going for a "full on" hockey player bio and how he did in the junior leagues, this actually had me interested while reading because I had no idea where thing's were going and what would happen next. Overall - Nicely edited text, additions in pictures made it easier and more enjoyable to read. Good job! ? -
Review: First of all, I'll say that something has gone wrong in the editing and your picture link has been deleted, and therefor there's just an empty link(might want to fix that) Lets move on the rookie profile: I'll admit I really like the way you have edited the whole article, the letter size, the punctuation and bullet-points you've used really catch the reader's attention and I feel is very easily readable, which is nice. On to the profile itself - Nice writeups in that you put together 2 strengths and 2 weaknesses together so it's not as clustered, I personally would have separated them as it helps you focus on one individually, which just would be easily more understandable. I like the touch of "Projection and Future", not many people do this but it's a nice addition, lets you have an insight on the players thought's on his future. Overall - Very nicely edited Profile, only couple of things that could maybe be worked upon(separating the strengths into solo and then more description on each individually, and the picture fix), but good job!

Review: Good writeup, I enjoyed the brief introduction to your player, gave a little more details on what type of a player he is and what the future holds for him in Saskatoon. Now more on the Strengths and weaknesses, Great choices in both categories as I feel you didn't go for the cliche of "my guy is good in scoring/defense/passing", you went the route of "Hey, my guy can be a captain, take one for the team and really set up his teammates with his checking/leadership", I appreciated that the most. Overall very nicely edited post, good usage of the Bullet-Lists and so on, I like the inclusion of the 2 pictures, they bring that joy to our eyes reading these articles opposed to just plain wall-of-texts.

So I guess we skip him now?

So as well all know, you've been drafted by the Philadelphia Reapers - a brand new franchise in this league, what were the feelings when you heard your name called out? It felt great, playing for an expansion franchise team was what I wanted, so in the end it all worked out, I was really excited and you could definitely tell that by the smile I had. Now tell me about the preparation you guys have been doing this off-season, as we know season starts soon, how's it going in the Locker Room? It's been awesome, all the people we have are nice and I think we will work very well together, we share the same ideas and goals, so I'm excited to see what we can deliver during the season. Since you guys are a new franchise, and your roster depth isn't that deep or I could even say advanced, what are your thoughts on that? I mean that's expected of a new franchise, but the players we have are ready to work their asses off and improve, and that's why I think we will make this work in the end, dedication, motivation and step by step improvements and we'll be set. How's Philadelphia treating you? Philly has been nothing but awesome, nice city, kind people and the weather has been nice too. Mikko Aaltonen was drafted #15 by the Philadelphia Reapers, he has high hopes for this team and says that he will do everything in his power to make this team shine.

1. Striking fear and nervousness into our opponents. 2. I believe my player fits nicely in the team, he has some less experienced players around him, but he's ready to teach them and help them improve. 3. All I'm hoping is for my character to perform good, get those goals and get lots of helpers. 4. Yeah, playing for an expansion team is always exciting, of course there are the cons in that starting a new franchise could be slow in the beginning, but at least I'm there to set the records ;). 5. Right Wing, #96. 6. I don't think my captain is a natural leader but in an environment like this he would be honored to be a captain and have the option of leading this team. 7. My player really loves pizza. 8. I don't like predicting exact scores, we'll grind it out and hope for the best... But one thing is for sure, we'll set some records =D
