Finally, I'm Part Of The VHL *Deep Inhale* "Whooo." This has been a long, long time coming. Finally, for the first time in 7 years, I believe I have the opportunity to take part in this community with a player I can update consistently without issue. And let me tell you, I couldn't be more excited. As some of you may know, I have tried to near exhaustion to create players in the past only to come to the same realization every time. I don't know this sport enough to feel comfortable writing about it and I don't have the time to put into being worth a damn as a player. Finally, thanks to @Beketov and all of you who helped usher in the new Welfare system, both of those concerns have been resolved and there is nothing stopping me from finally getting to experience the longest running simulation league in our growing sim community. I don't expect to be a major player in this league. In fact, none of my players in the SBA or EFL are major players in that league. The player side of these leagues often comes after the community aspect to me. At the SBA, I enjoy leading new members and recreates into their new careers by running the Duke Blue Devil's. In the EFL, I enjoy trying to see a football sim FINALLY succeed. In both, it's the community that drives me and not the success of my player. So do I expect to be a HOF career? I've never had one, I'll likely never have one. But I do expect to become a decent part of the community and finally get to ride a player that I'm excited about through the entirety of his career. That's beyond exciting to me. And to do it with my boys @MWHazard and @Týr is icing on the cake. Let's see what this thing is all about.

1. Joe-Nuss 2. I think it's smart for VHL GM's to look at drafting all three of us together. It's hard to believe we will play for an extended period of time with a franchise if we're away from one another. Jo and Jakub bring the best out of me. We bring the best out of each other. 3. There is a definite appeal to the European market. Seems like a logistical nightmare to have teams in the same league crossing the pond, but if there as an option to put a sub-league in Europe I think there is definite appeal in that.

That's dope. I can't keep straight what's live and what isn't. We'll have to get used to it. This is the first of three straight games held in Asia. Next chance to wath most things live will be in Paris 2024.

I mean, if anything I recruited myself . I've been trying to get the VHL to adopt the welfare system so that I can have a meaningful create since we started that welfare concept.

That finish was legit. I turned it on for the final 30 seconds. The announcers yelling was pretty comical to me also. They don't strike me as regular announcers.

Really excited about this @MWHazard. Thanks @Beketov and the rest of the league for partnering with us so we have a shot to create and be a part of the community.

There has been no indication that it has negatively impacted the SBA or EFL since we implemented. On the contrary, it has positively impacted both leagues creations, average updates per week and there has been no downtick in point tasks being done. Sure, there are guys who don't have the time to write point tasks in both leagues and utilize the welfare. There are also a great number of members who used that welfare to get their foot in the door, only to find out they enjoy that league enough to put the work in to max that player and become a regular contributor. On the surface, it would seem troubling to allow guys to "do no work" to earn a decent amount of TPE in the league. But our experience is that it all comes out in the wash. Those who were doing PT's will continue doing PT's. Those won't just stop being done. Those who maxed their player will continue maxing their player. Your entire membership base will stay the same because they were here in the first place for a reason. And what's left is an increased number of players created and continuously updated - if a higher percentage of them as role players. And it increases discussion in locker rooms, sim threads and the general board. That can't be a bad thing. It hasn't been for us.

Gotcha. I saw the poll(didn't see it's in articles, not an open discussion area) so thought it was an open discussion to see if you should even contemplate it. As a BOD member of both leagues, I doubt we have issue with the VHL being slightly altered if you decide it needs to be due to the 9 cap here as opposed to our 12 cap. It would make sense you guys need to figure that out. I'm excited about the possibility of getting it going! May join asap then in hopes I can utilize it in the near future.

As someone who has created many times here and never had the time to do an extra set of PT's, and has a difficult time attempting to write about a sport I know little about, I can tell you I'd absolutely become a mainstream member here if this welfare system was adopted. I know a handful of guys who would join with me. The SBA and EFL went in on this welfare system and it's benefited both sides. SBA lifers have been able to participate in the EFL and help the EFL's activity. EFL recruits have been able to get active in the SBA and not burn out, increasing the SBA's activity. As someone on the BOD of both the SBA and EFL, seeing the benefits and literally no issue in terms of either league losing activity or content, it's such a no-brainer It's been hard for me to grasp why it's taking so long for this to get finalized.
