  1. Hey @Beaviss I've spent some time on the site looking at things and, in my limited time here, I can tell you've managed to make two of the more recent successful offensive players in the VHL. With that, I'm hoping you'll dust off 16 months of rust since your last reply to a personal press conference to answer five questions from a not-so-new-but-never-old member who is desperately trying to make this the time he finally sticks with the VHL and has a quality experience here. I'm going to make my first set of press conference questions in the VHL mean something. What's the best advice you can give a new member who has joined the community? Which members would you advise me to follow on the site, take advice from or who can enrich my experience? What is the absolute #1 thing you enjoy most about this league or community? I plan to make an Offensive Right Winger. What is crucial build knowledge that I should know going into this career? Besides TPE and sheer activity, is there anything a good VHL GM specifically looks for in a potential draftee? Thanks in advance if you have the time to answer these
  2. Player Information Username: Shaka Player Name: Case Martell Recruited From: SisterLeague Age: 16 Position: RW Height: 70 in. Weight: 180 lbs. Birthplace: United States of America Player Page @VHLM GM
  3. Real talk? My favorite memory in the VHL so far has been talking about joining up with @MWHazard and @Týr . Hazard kicked ass but Tyr and I got sideswiped and once again I find myself contemplating recreating and trying to ride this damn horse more than a mile. Still, I enjoyed conjuring up our plan, names, etc. Good times. That and shooting the shit talking about Game of Thrones in like Season 3 last time I was just randomly on this site.
  4. I was rooting for the Caps. Was really awesome to see. Expected it to go 6 or 7. Well, they scored fewer goals than Helsinki and that was their undoing. Has to be Franchise Cornterstone. That guy, he's a real Franchise Cornerstone. Haven't been paying attention. Is Stronk still an amateur? My recreate?! I haven't decided if I'm sticking with Jonas or not, sadly. Just feel like I want a fresh start.
  5. Sadly, my Lightning aren't in it. I don't know about chances. I don't even know who to root for. I'm thinking both seem to be making an improbable run. As John Cooper put it "I'll tell you how it happened: They got an owner that hired an unreal [general manager] and they got an unreal GM that hired an unreal coach. They were all left to do their jobs. They were given a framework to work with. They could've screwed it up or they could've done really well, and they chose to do really well. They played within the rules that were given to them, and this is what you get." Josh Stronk Gabriel McAllister Gabriel McAllister's on a roll. No way he drops the lead.
  6. Jonas Vilhjalmsson Forward Points +/-
  7. I'm only just now coming out of my coma. What year is it? I don't know that I see one. Seems to be top heavy and any "diamond" is hard to predict right now. The affiliate caused a rush of activity. Those people WANT to be involved here. They just have to find the right balance, like I'm having to do. Josh Stronk @Beerfridge I'm from Tampa so I have to pick the Lightning. And then I'm going WPG.
  8. How come you didn't tell me we were prospects together?! That's fun You're a VHL pros pro, what's the best advice you'd give a newb like myself? You catch my boy's OT goal sending our series to Game 6? What's one of your favorite memories here in the VHL? Who is the VHL's Shinsuke Nakamura?
  9. @Týr @MWHazard Me in the VHL right now
  10. Well, it's been a few months since I arrived with Jonas Vilhjálmsson and things haven't gone as planned. Life got ridiculously busy as of late. In real life, I've taken on more and more duties as the VP of Operations at my company and it's utterly overwhelming. No one person can do all of this work. In addition to this, my three-month-old decided to embark on a sleep regression. The combination of the two has ran me into the ground. In the sim world, the lack of activity has ended the career of Bayek before it ever got started and I've all by finished me tenure at the EFL. Here in the VHL, I've left a lot to be desired. My brother, Johannes, has doubled my TPE. My other brother, Jakub, has outearned me. I have a measly 72 TPE with a draft year nearing. That's comical to me. But sometimes, the start of your career doesn't go the way you planned. What should have been, the Vilhjálmsson brothers dominating each league together at some point, has run into it's first real obstacle and looks far from reality. I'm enjoying the ride. Part of being a great player, and a great brother to my fake family, is getting back on that horse and trying again. If I can rally, and get back into rythem updating Jonas again, this will be a blip on an otherwise enjoyable career. If I continue to have troubles, I'll continue to grind it out. Come rain or shine, I'm all in with this. Embracing the suck.
  11. Oh shit @MWHazard and @Týr
  12. Letting the team down confirmed.
