Very likely, but with 95 TPE, I'll take my chances at deserving a cup! Good on you guys for being the cup favs though, I'll still be rooting for you! <3
-
I hate letting you guys down, I've missed my VHL fix, and I want to come back 100% fresh and ready to go. I now own my own business and make my own hours, so I think I'll have much more time to dedicate to you lovely souls. Cian Mercer officially retires! Here's to bigger and better things!
-
I'll take whichever is open, fyi. If he wants Sask or if you believe I'm better for Sask, I'll take either too!
-
one point but sadly the streak couldn't apply here.
-
nice shutout, always nice to get two points too.
-
goal and a win, gg.

Why should I be GM? I'm active again, I've been a proven turn-around GM that can get a team to the playoffs and set-up a team for success. I think I should be a GM because honestly all anyone ever lets me do is GM in the VHLM, so let's do it again.

CIAN MERCER ROOKIE PROFILE Player Name: Cian Mercer Position: Defence Age: 19 Height: 6'0" Weight: 190lbs Handness: Right Hometown: Dublin, Ireland Drafted By: Ottawa Lynx - 15th Overall MERCER ENTERS CANADA At the young age of eighteen, Cian Mercer and his father took their first ever flight to Canada when Cian was offered a spot on the Kelowna Rockets after they had their official draft and still had some holes to fill. Cian had been noticed and heavily scouted after playing some friendly games back in his hometown and some videos surfaced all over social media and more specifically Youtube. While the process was long and fairly excruciating, the overall process was a lifetime dream come true. Mercer had always wanted to escape Ireland and make a name for himself in a sport that he actually found entertaining. And after trying so many other sports, this one just kind of stuck to him and made him feel as though this was the real deal. As he attended school in Kelowna and played for the team, he was offered another dream come true deal that would prove to be very effective and beneficial in his favour. Just last season, the Ottawa Lynx would offer him a chance to play on their team for the remainder of the previous season as well as a chance to be in the playoffs. With no hesitation, Mercer took the offer and left Kelowna right away to become a prime defender on the squad. While he didn't have much of an impact through the regular season as the team was already a top playoff contender, he shined in the playoffs helping the Lynx go all the way to the end and win the championship. With a championship under his belt already, Cian would enter his first official year as he entered the S46 draft that would see him go right back home to the Ottawa Lynx, exactly what he was hoping would happen. Selected fifteenth overall, Mercer was fairly disappointed in falling down the rankings, but he understood with all the other people being pretty far ahead in practice hours since he joined at an awkward time in the league transition. Despite being selected where he was, Mercer had plans to be a top defender by the end of the season and he had big plans to bring Ottawa back to the playoffs. With the help of his teammates, he had no doubt in his mind that the push was going to happen and that he would be back on top sooner rather than later. PROS Passing - When it comes to being a defender, one thing Mercer picked up early is that he was undoubtedly going to be relied on for making some big plays on the offence when he was called on. Realizing this early on in his career, passing became a big focus that he would learn to work with almost every practice. Because of this focus, we're scouting that Mercer is going to be a pass-first defender when he makes his way over the blueline. Despite not being heavily relied on when it comes to offence, if there is going to be any way Mercer tallies points, this is going to be the primary way. Positioning - One thing Mercer prides himself on when it comes to his gameplay is the ability to play his position without flaw. As a defender, Mercer understands his responsibilities and understands where he needs to be, when he needs to be there. Despite being young, it's very obvious that Mercer is fully aware that on any type of a special teams play, he becomes the PP QB or the penalty kill specialist that any team is going to want to have on their team. Through the growing process, Mercer understands there is still much to learn and a lot more practicing to go before he can make it in the pro leagues, but he's happy to learn and is still making huge strides to perfecting his position and making himself become the best he can be. Hitting - You wouldn't expect large and calculated hits to come from someone at such a regular size such as a guy like Mercer who only stands at six feet tall and only weighs just under two hundred pounds, however due to the sheer skating ability and defensive tactics Mercer can play, he can read a lot of players very easily and calculate large and in charge hits that could become very promising and devastating as time goes on. Because he's not done growing yet, we believe with more muscle mass accumulation and height growth, the hitting game will only become more promising and will only become more dangerous and pristine as the seasons pass. There is no limitation to how good this aspect of his game can become, only time will tell how good it gets before his career comes to an end. CONS Shooting - As we mentioned earlier in his pros, the scoring ability of Mercer isn't as high as he'd like it to be, and while it's something that has slightly fallen on the back-burner of things for his practicing, it's not something the scouts are too worried about when they look at his career long-term. While we see Mercer always being a pass-first player, it's very obvious that he's got a very powerful and accurate slapshot, it's just a matter of getting him to use it more. Because of his current mindset, he's not really using it as much as he'd like to. thus some people may see it as a negative point to his game. Though we'll keep reassuring any pro GM that drafts him that in the future, you should expect to see this aspect of his game improve drastically enough to actually become significant. Size - Most people now days look at defenders and want them to be huge, broad shoulders and just big brutes on the ice, and some may see Mercer's size as a downfall to his game, however being younger and still with some growth left in him, there is no telling what will come of him when he reaches the pro levels. Right now, we believe he's a good size to dominate the juniors where everyone is still developing and pretty much all at equal sizes. We're not too worried when looking at Mercer who is still a good size for the position he plays, but again come the future we're hoping he does beef up and does grow even a couple of inches to make himself look even more promising going into the draft. Penalty Shot - One thing we don't see now days is a defender that can take a perfect penalty shot, and this time around we've met another one. Because scoring isn't his focus to begin with, his coaches believe that there is truly no reason to focus on penalty shots for the time being. This doesn't mean that Mercer couldn't step up and become a penalty shot enthusiast, but in reality it would only truly happen if a GM asked him to become on. If a pro GM is looking for a defender to take penalty shots, it's obvious that if it helps him improve his game and become a top defender, then he'll do whatever it takes to become that defender.

CIAN MERCER BIOGRAPHY Player Name: Cian Mercer Height: 6'1" Weight: 199lbs Birthdate: January 1st, 1996 Born In: Dublin, Ireland Position: Defence Handedness: Right Team: Ottawa Lynx (upcoming VHLM draftee) Jersey Number: 12 BIRTH OF AN IRISHMAN When it came to the Mercer family, there wasn't anything typical about how the thought of a child came along. Cian's father Desmond was and still is a well-known bare knuckle brawler for various independent companies around Ireland. With all the travelling he did, there was never time to keep track of it, thus he never really kept track of who he was hooking up with on all of these trips. Being such a ladies man, he ended up with a different girl pretty much after every fight, that was until he met his soon to be wife and mother to his child. After a fight in Belfast, Desmond met as he explains to be the love of his life in Fiona O'Grady (now known as Fiona Mercer) after hooking up with her and having what he claims to be the best experience of his life. After spending more and more time with Fiona, Desmond was very adamant that he wanted this girl to be everything to him, and so eventually on their biggest date of the year (their anniversary), he decided to pop the question, and without hesitation she said yes. Six months after the engagement had been pulled off, little Cian was conceived and the dotting parents were happier than a pig in you know what. Fiona had begged Desmond not to fight until the baby was born because she needed him around to help her with things as the baby progressed, and while it was hard at first for him to give it up, he took the leave of absence to be with his fiancee and help her with everything she needed. Through the nine months, the relationship was healthy and unlike some couples, it actually was an easy ride all the way to the emergency room for the birth. Cian was set to be born on December 30th, but because of him being just two days late, he happened to be a New Years baby, being born on the 1st of January. Despite being born two days late, Cian was actually quite a small baby coming in at 15 inches in length and 5 pounds, 8 ounces. Being such a small baby, the doctors in the delivery room as well as his parents had some concerns that he wasn't going to be healthy growing up or that something was wrong, but as soon as the family brought him home from the hospital, their concerns went away slowly but surely. Cian began to eat for two little babies, and he was gaining weight more and more while growing like a tree trunk, until eventually we got to his younger years of elementary school. Cian was raised as a Roman Catholic as this type of school was very popular in the Irish descent, thus it was really a no brainer that he would be raised this way. Both his parents were raised in the same way, so it was an instant click with the school he would go to. Cian went from being the smallest in his grade to the tallest as time progressed, and most people seen him following in the footsteps of his father in the sense of becoming some type of a brawler, despite not having that mentality and personalty the way his father did. Indefinitely, Cian made his own decision going into high school that he would be solely focusing on two things, sports and school work, proving to himself and his family that he could be more than just a brawler. HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA Despite being a big bodied kid and someone that all the other students liked going into high school, the sports teams at his school just didn't feel that Cian was cut out to be some kind of a superstar. While he was always invited to tryout for the teams, he was never really put onto any serious contending lines or anything that would have made a significant difference. Because of this, his passion for being a sports player was dwindling and instead of focusing on sports, he decided that it would be in his best interest to just continue with school. Because of his constant cutting from school teams, Cian got a bit of a reputation from the other kids at his school for being a failure, and this got hm to have somewhat of a temper. From the little boy that wanted to be a sports star there was now fumes coming out of his ears, and his parents were now concerned with the amount of times he'd be sent to the office due to aggressive behaviour and fighting with the other kids. One day, Cian shocked his family when he was caught dressing up similar to his father with the wrapped up hands and such and physically going after the bullies at his school, this influence was unacceptable according to his mother Fiora and so they had a little talk between the two of them. After a long fought battle from his mother, Desmond was forced to hang up his trunks and such and put his life on hold for the sake of his son's future. While things didn't change at first, after a little while Cian began seeing the attitude of his father change for the better, and he wanted to be just like him, so he decided to follow in his footsteps. Eventually, Cian was put into the sport of hockey, and while it wasn't close to being a major sport in Ireland, it was something the kids and even adults down there did enjoy to play from time to time. Because it was nothing serious, Cian and his father just took it as a fun past time that both of them could share, and every day after school they would go and practice it, seeing nothing more than father and son bonding time. Through the rest of his high school life, Cian was done being bullied and actually becoming a very good skater and a very good passing player on the ice which was something just being achieved by constant practice and overall having fun with his father. With the mindset of not being more than just an avid Irish hockey player, Cian had the shock of a lifetime when he turned seventeen and got a call from a school in Canada that wanted to talk to him about coming out there to go to school and play hockey for them. They got ahold of his name after seeing personal videos that Cian and the family had uploaded to the popular social media platform Facebook as well as being shared with millions of views on Youtube. With some major decisions to be made, Cian was well on his way to being a Canadian citizen, he just had to take the correct steps to being allowed into the country, but his mother was doing everything possible to make the dream become a reality. CANADA BOUND AND VHLM INTRODUCTION The paperwork was gruelling and constantly seemed to be dragging on but finally Cian's mother was able to tell him that he would be getting to go over to Canada to go to school and play sports. Cian had never been out of Ireland or on an airplane, so it was a huge experience in itself to get to actually sit there and fly out to Canada, being such a long trip it had just been something that they all wanted for him but it was actually becoming a reality now. After they landed in Canada (Cian and his father), they made their way to a hotel that was being paid for by the school he would be attending until they found something a little more permanent for him while he stays. Cian would be studying business while being over there, as that was a topic he enjoyed the most all through school. Once the school semester began, Cian's father who had brought him to Canada left back to Ireland for some business of his own and promised to come back and visit him before the semester ended, however that never happened and Cian would become worried when contact between himself and his mother/father fell short of actually being a real thing. While playing hockey in University and focusing on his studies, he still continued to be worried that his ties to his family had been cut forever and that he would never actually talk to his family again, the worry began to take a toll on his body and that's when Cian decided that after the semester he would fly back to Ireland and make sure everything was okay. After hoping on the flight and making the long trip back, he touched down in Ireland to a car waiting for him which was odd, as he didn't tell anyone he was actually coming back home. When he got in, the car took him right home to his parents who really were absolutely shocked to see him home with any kind of warning. They were happy, but reassured him that there was nothing to be worried about, they were just extremely busy and were struggling a little bit, but regardless they didn't want him to worry. After a few weeks back in his hometown, Cian was called back to Canada with an offer he really couldn't turn down. He was told that a VHLM team known as the Ottawa Lynx had scouts watching him play for his University, and because of his outstanding play, they wanted to pick him up on waivers for the league and see how he does throughout the remainder of the season and into the playoffs. While being extremely happy for him, his parents celebrated before he left and Cian accepted the offer. Arriving back, Cian would travel from his school grounds to Ottawa just in time to make it for their next game. Suiting up was a dream come true as he seen a lot of kids and people older than him, but this was his chance to shine and he wasn't going to let it slip. However Cian would receive the news that his father had been mugged in the street which was a very common thing in the parts of Ireland that his family came from, and because he was a very big name where they live, it made him even more targeted for those types of attacks. His father called him just before he would go on the ice to reassure him that he was okay, and to tell him that he should not stop from following his dream, and so Cian pushed through the tears and the pain of seeing his father hurting and went out on the ice. Cian would finish the season with the Lynx and eventually go into the playoffs. During the playoffs, Cian would get updates about his father and they weren't looking too good, his father was bleeding internally and the wound seemed to have damaged some internal organs, something that was very serious. Again however despite the devastating news, he went out on the ice with his team and would eventually be crowned the VHLM champions alongside his team, and would be more proud than ever. His father is still in the hospital to this very day as this is being written, and his fate is unfortunately up in the air, but for Cian we know that he's about to go into the upcoming draft as a cup winner, what more could he ever want?

Since I've come back, I'll do this if no one else applies, but please give it to someone else if they really desire to be GM, I just feel it'd be nice to go back to GMing and helping a team that had an inactive GM.

As an agent and former Ottawa Lynx GM, I'm currently ecstatic to see that the team I left just one season ago as GM has finally been taken ahold of by someone that can actually make them win rather than sell them off. A lot of hard work was put into that team by myself trying to make them extremely successful and leaving them with a ton of picks seems to have paid off. Ottawa was a dream team to me as they were the first team I ever GM'd with Jason aka diamond_ace way back in the day when we had won them a championship back then too. I cannot believe that they came back all this way to win again, and my mood has changed drastically since coming back to the league just in time to see them win and be a part of them win. As a player, this also makes me happy. While I wasn't a huge contributing factor on the team, as a waiver pick-up I think I did my job alright on defence while the rest of the roster contributed and were lights out. My playoff performance was satisfactory at best for my standards but again being behind everyone with TPA/TPE and being a late bloomer didn't really help me take positive strides in my career. Overall, extremely happy with the win and I couldn't ask for a better outcome, while I know our player was GM of the Moscow team, I'd like to say great series and don't be disappointed by the outcome, you're a cool guy and fun to talk to in the LR. Let's go party Ottawa!

After downloading the pack, I came up with this, still a little iffy because it's still too similar to MY previous style for my liking, but I found some new techniques.
-
The only fathead I see is that guys. Fuckin' loser.
-
with all the bitching and such aside, thank you boubabi, this is really going to help me kind of stray away from my usual work and focus on some new things. I'll post some new work once it finishes downloading, at 70% as we speak.
-
love how all the bitching and shit led to there being no pack? 4 days later... Was actually really looking forward to learning too, smh.

I'll claim my TPE for the week of December 28th - January 3rd, thanks VHL!
