  1. 32. I think it has to be IT Crowd, it is such a guilty pleasure of mine 33. Has to be a bag of lollies doesn't really matter what ones 34. Probably a good thickshake 35. I think it would be funny to bring in teams that are already in a saturated market, like Toronto, New York, Vancouver and Calgary they all seem to have passionate fans so I don't know if any would jump ship 36. Has to be Rayz Funk, what an absolute Bears Hero 37. About what I expected from Gustav total dogshit
  2. The Hybrid Attributes are ruining the League This might be clickbait but who doesn’t love a nice title that bites. Anyway, let me move on to my feelings on the Hybrid Attributes. Firstly, for those who don’t know my general VHL opinions I do not like the whole depreciation thing, yes, I understand the idea of it and why it is required. I don’t like the idea that the best strategy is to bank your points for when you need to counter your depreciation. This makes it tough for me to keep interested in completing point tasks because the work that I am doing has no change to my player I am no longer doing work to improve myself but rather to keep my head above water. Now with this out of the way it should explain some of my rough thoughts towards the Hybrid Attributes. Once you hit 80 points in one of the attributes it now costs 5 TPE to add one more point. For example, the Offensive Vision attribute increases the STHS attribute by .3 for each Passing and Scoring this means that there is a chance that you can apply 15 TPE into one attribute and not improve yourself at all. I know this is not guaranteed to happen but the fact it is a possibility is what angers me. So, you go through your whole career with occasionally having weeks where you do all your TPE and nothing changes, it is not even like it is a late in the career issue, I am at this point currently and I have 500 TPE. Yes, I know what you are thinking that I have a strange build and if I built normally this wouldn’t have been an issue. This takes me to my second point that due to the way the attributes are paired up there are certain builds that are extremely hard to pull off. With Gustav Mattias I was trying to build a player that was a sniper but had nothing on the back half of the ice. Essentially was an offensive powerhouse who was a giant liability on defence. Well, if I want to update my Puck Handling or Strength more I need to put points into Defence or Face Offs. Now I will do this as I need to, but I wish that I could try my build without being forced to waste TPE on stuff I don’t need. Honestly this is my second player with hybrid attributes and I am already thinking about retirement and I haven’t even finished my first season in the VHL. If Bana is reading this don’t worry mate, I will stick it out for you. I am strongly thinking of going back to a Goaler next player as I wanted to just be able to go back to no matter what if I cap for the week my player will get stronger. My final point in the disagreement with Hybrid Attributes is how little this changes anything in regards to the VHLM. A skater with 72 TPA is less TPA in STHS than what you use to start with before the change with 29 STHS TPA, and a skater with 160 TPA in Hybrid their STHS TPA is only 67. So what does everyone else think, is Hybrid a good change or would you rather the Meta Era again

  7. Yeah it's a great idea I was more trying to input a way of currently being able to do it
  8. This sounds like great ideas for you biography/media spots/vhl.com articles. When you claim them they are essentially linked to a player. You can add little comments to your claim if you want to bookmark things
  9. A Quick Draft Recap So I spent the last week messaging people who I thought would make potentially good fits for Saskatoon and making sure that people were happy playing with a rebuilding team. Also with going all in last season we weren’t really in a great position to have an incredibly exciting draft with the following picks being available to us. 10th, 30th, 40th & 50th overall. So with my first pick at 10th overall I chose Forum Content, not only because I am a strong believer in Forum Content and also because @frescoelmo seems like a cool character to have on the roster, sure I know if we are rebuilding they might not get much of a chance this season but I would like to think that it could be some nice trade bait come trade deadline when the contenders are looking to bolster their rosters. Also, I really don’t think we will be the worst team in the league so tanking isn’t what I want to do. After missing the 2nd round due to a trade made last season with the San Diego Marlins my next pick rolled around at number 30 at the end of the 3rd round. With this pick I grabbed Austin Goulet III, now @Tuchy responded to my draft message with a short and sweet response saying they had no problem coming over to the wildside. So, looking for a Goaler and one that might be able to help us in future seasons it seemed like a good pick to me. Plus, you never know that a portal only player might see this inspiring Media Spot and become a Forum Content king like my 1st pick. I always think that it is nice having a goalie on the roster, it means that you don’t need to try and draft/waiver sign or even trade for one in the future if you are trying to compete. Next around was the end of the 4th round with pick number 40. With this pick I selected the returning VHLM Champion of the World Sylvia Davis @Possum Queen, it is nice to have a familiar face back in the locker room and defenders are always needed to make a championship side. Will be great to have Davis back winning games with the Wild again. In Summary I believe that I have made a pretty decent core to build around both this season and next, I think this season there is potential for anybody to win as there is a lot of uncertainty around due to the ways of the youtube ad, we will probably get 50 odd new starters but it depends on how many stick around and what their earning rate is like. Hopefully we get multiple people who are max earners and we can really boost our Forum Content as the way I have heard things every media spot posted my first round pick will grow in size and become unstoppable by the end of the season. Thank you all for reading let us all hope for another good season for the Wild.

  14. The life story of the one and only Gustav Mattias Gustav Mattias was born in the year 2000 after the scare of Y2K, he was born to Mother Sarah and Father Robert, he is the youngest of three as he has two older sisters Veronica and Jasmine. Gustav grew up quite alone as his father Robert was in the Air Force and was never really at home. He always spent his time hiding from his sisters who would constantly bully the boy. He would spend his time inside on his laptop and he wanted to be a doctor so he could help people and make them fit and healthy. Due to his constant studying he never really had time for any other activities and the child was called a nerd most of his time in school. When Gustav entered High school, he was on his way to becoming a doctor, he was three grades above in both science and mathematics and his handwriting was 3 years below his age. This is exactly what all the top universities are looking for their new Doctors. Gustav was a special sort of little boy, when he gets his mind on an idea, he will go through whatever he can to make sure that this will become a reality. This is why he is succeeding so well at becoming a doctor. The issue is one fateful night when he was in high school, he had finished his exams, and his father was back home and they went to go watch the local team play, during the second period there was a horrible accident. One of the pucks flew out and hit poor Gustav in the head and caused some serious damage including knocking him out. The team doctor took the young boy onto the ice to try and ice the massive egg on his head and Gustav returned to consciousness, the first thing he saw when he woke up was all these people in hockey uniforms surrounding him, he again lost consciousness and was rushed off to the hospital. When he finally woke up in the hospital, he was told that he had severe brain damage and that he may have some memory loss. It turns out that his IQ had dropped quite a lot and his dreams of being a doctor were well and truly shattered. Luckily for him though he cannot remember that he wanted to be a doctor he believes that his dream was to become the next big star in the Victory Hockey League. From the day that he got the all clear from the Hospital Gustav would spend every spare moment he had on the ice honing his skills. He was extremely bad at first and no one would play with him so he would practice skating around with the puck and shooting goals. This is where his love for goal scoring first came in. It took Gustav one whole year of learning before any of the local teams would even let him try out and to their surprise when they gave him the chance he excelled. Well he excelled at the drills when there was an actual game to be played he was extremely lost, he had never been on the ice with anyone else and wasn’t sure what to do when he didn’t have the puck. So now Gustav focused on how to work as a team mate and made friends with his line mates and they would all train each day, Gustav went from being useless to becoming a great team player he knew how to pass well and would almost instinctively know where his teammates were going to be. Unfortunately, the injury that happened on that fateful night has seeped deep into Gustav’s subconscious and he really struggles with defending he gets scared when the puck is heading towards him and he just wants to be skating up the ice trying to score goals. Luckily due to all his practice he was an incredible goal scorer and this got him a position at the prestigious college he attended on a full scholarship for hockey. Gustav thrived through college and ended up being the top goal scorer for the season and breaking multiple school records, this led him to landing an agent with the North Eastern Australian Talent House. Becoming only the second player outside of Australia to be picked up by the agency. Gustav then unfortunately in his last game found out that his father had passed away when on a routine mission with the military as his Dad loved the game of hockey so much this gave extra drive to Gustav knowing that he needed to make it to the Victory Hockey League just like he had talked about with his father many times. It was that night that he registered for the VHLM draft, and the rest you can say will be history.
  15. You did a lot of the work as well mate
  16. Dear Mr. Zetterberg I trust that this message has reached you, I am Mr. Berocka the head of North Eastern Australian Talent House or NEATH for short. My player a Mr. Gustav Mattias is having his rookie season in the Victory Hockey League Europe with your establishment this season. As I am sure you are aware he has recently finished up with the San Diego Marlins and has made the playoffs with them. My player is an avid ice hockey fan and wants to be one of the greats in the VHL someday. I trust that your leadership can assist him on his path to greatness. Some of the things he would like to achieve this season include: Scoring more and more goals, Mr. Mattias sees himself as a Sniper and only a sniper he wants to feature on your powerplay unit and strong ice time but has no interest in playing on the penalty kill or playing defensively. He is here to break scoring records and he believes that the defenders and goalie should be the one saving the goals. Winning the Championship or at least making it to the final round of playoffs. Mr. Mattias sees himself as a star player and wants to make sure he is on the biggest stage to showcase his talents to the world. He believes that the more time he spends in the big matches the more chance he has at making it big in the VHL. Enough training and resources to be ready to play in the VHL next season, this is purely a stepping stone team to Mr. Mattias, and he will not be here next season. I suggest that you use his strengths and star power wisely and create a championship calibre team around him. I can see that you have already put together quite a good team and I am trusting you to do the right things to make sure this team succeeds. I have my faith that you will do the right thing for Mr. Mattias. I have had a close look at your roster, and I can see that you do not have anyone with the same strengths in scoring as Mr. Mattias especially in the penalty shot department so I can hope that he will feature in the following: Top 6 minutes for forwards I understand if you need to play him on the second line for chemistry sake Top line Powerplay unit, you don’t have anyone else who can score as well as him so please use him wisely Top 3 penalty shot takers for the shootout, he is your greatest asset please make sure he is getting a chance every shootout. In saying all of that though I do not want to see him playing on the penalty kill if you do that you might have a trade request coming through the next day. Yours sincerely, Mr. Berocka
  17. Dear Mr. Campbell Here is my Scouting report for Gustav Mattias Name: Gustav Mattias Age: 21 Position: RW Height: 5’ 5” Weight: 140lbs Current Team: San Diego Marlins & Vasteras Iron Eagles. Country of Origin: United States of America Gustav is a young player that seems to focus mainly on his offensive side of his game, he can definitely put up points but the lack of defensive capabilities may leave him as a liability to a team such as ours. Please see below further investigation into his strengths and weaknesses based on the games I have watched him play. Strengths: Wrist Shot: Gustav can put the puck wherever he wants it in the net and it will go there, it might not have the most speed on it but just know that it will end up in the right spot. I see this as the shining light in this player with a little bit more practice and some time with our offensive coach I think if you give him the puck within the hash marks there will be a goal more often than not. Slap Shot: Whilst it isn’t as good as his wrist shot it is the other way around, he is less accurate with this, but it is blazing fast. When it is on target it takes a hell of a lot of stopping to make sure it doesn’t hit the net and go through it. If he ever goes into a skills competition, I would bet all my money on Gustav. Penalty Shots: This kid has some good dekes on him but isn’t the best with them in open play but when he is one on one with the Goalie he will score most of the time. I know it is a bit of a niche skill that we shouldn’t really look out for but if we ever get to a shoot out I would definitely have him in your top 3. Weaknesses: Size: He is only quite a small kid and whilst you can see he has been working on his strength he will still get bodied on the ice. Add this to the fact he keeps his head down when skating he could be potentially injury prone, whilst I think that we can train the keeping the head up I honestly don’t think he really has the build for a pro level VHLer. Discipline: This man is a hot head not only does he cause shit if he disagrees with anyone including teammates, but his on ice discipline is worse pair that with his defensive skills and he makes a lot of sloppy errors. Defence: Speaking of Defence oh my this kid doesn’t back check and when in the defensive zone is honestly just looking for someone to make a stretch pass to him so he can go and score. This kid has no interest in wanting to defend he just wants to see the puck in the back of the net. In summary Mr. Campbell I would not reach for this player he is a third rounder at best.
  18. Quick Little Berocka Wrap up of S91 Firstly, Gustav Mattias had a very quiet season, getting a handful of minutes every game but not putting up really any points. Was surprised I didn’t get much PP time especially as I am focused on scoring, I thought just maybe I would be a good power play star. Let us see what next season brings with Mattias being able to play up in the VHL on the star team with the Bears. Maybe I need to start bottom hunting and chasing FA to score more goals I am unsure what I need to do but I have three seasons with the Bears to play out first so I will focus on them. Secondly, and definitely most importantly the Saskatoon Wild are the S91 champions! It was the first championship for the team since S82. It took the team just 17 games to get through the 3 rounds. They had a 4-1 series win against the San Diego Marlins in the opening round, followed by a 7 game nailbiter against the Houston Bulls to finish it off with a 4-1 Series victory against the Philadelphia Reapers. The Reapers were not an easy beat with I believe all 5 games being decided by one goal. Everyone on the team contributed to the victory and I couldn’t have done it without every single person. From our star goalie @ToddlyBobbly who managed to finish with a .928 Save percentage and 3 shut outs in the playoffs. To @vladbatton who was traded into the team just before the trade deadline to help bolster up the defence for the team. To my S91 Draftees @BOOM who was shooting goals all season long @dlamb who held the blue line single handedly most of the season until we acquired Vladimir @silentnyrf31 the returning member from S90 who put up almost a PPG in the playoffs. Then there were the waiver signings @DustyMclaren who hit the ground running with helping out the team, @a_Ferk who really helped fix our blue line removing more and more minutes from the bots, @Possum Queen who only laced up the skates for the playoffs but made strong contributions in removing ice time from bots. Last but certainly not least, we have the Wild players from last season that learnt from our early knock out of playoffs last season and wanted the taste of glory this season. @Joseph Jec, @jacobaa19, @Is_thatok, @Crazytomato108 for all your updating and making sure you were a team that was going to go all the way I cannot thank you enough. I would also like to thank @sliceruser for always coming into the locker room with stats and observations from the game I think you will make an incredible GM one day if you would like to do that. Also, to @Dadam30 appreciate you so much and really enjoy having you as an AGM I think that you will also do a great job as a GM if the time comes when you get your own team. Thank you all for reading and another thanks to my players with the Saskatoon Wild you deserve this championship, and I am glad I could make it work for all of you as you put in the work every week.
