  1. Yoo thats sick bro!
  2. Yeah I realized that after, Ill definately increase it for next time.
  3. One of my GMs posted this in discord, and I found it and still find it very helpful its a guide on how to get more TPE: https://vhlforum.com/topic/98611-tpe-point-tasks-tutorial/
  4. I find there is not many places new players can go to ask for help, if they don't have discord, or they do not want to ask a small team of players, or is just shy, it could be helpful to have a help thread for them ask a question, or to look for similar questions. I wouldn't be surprised if there is one already, but I think it should be a lot more obvious, I cant even find it, I think most new players wont know what's going on, and maybe they see they are not progressing like others so they then leave. I think this could help some people stay around longer, keeping everything nice and real in that chat will do wonders for the VHL.
  5. This past season was a crazy season in the minors, teams taking control, other teams taking a last minute leap into the playoffs, it was quite an interesting year. However, this is not the reason I am writing this article, I am writing this to shed light on each team's top scorers from this past season. Halifax 21st had some amazing players with two forwards Zach Kisslinger II and Bryn Yrwy having 139 and 138 points respectively, and Yrwy with the most goals on the team and most goals in the league at 62. The Houston Bulls were looking to make a splash in the upcoming draft, with two forwards Donny Carter at 33 points and Luke Lily with 28 points and Lily with the most goals at 16 goals on the team. Los Vegas Aces had good depth this past season with a tie between Zdeno Chara and Pistol Pete point totals at 111. The most goals on this team is held by Pete with 41 goals. Quite good for a defensive pair, especially since they are tied for first for defensive points! Mexico City Kings is the next team to look at with Deke Rike and Luke Pastrnak as the #1 and #2 top point guys with 106 and 101 points respectively. Mexico has a great sniper for the first line forwards and his name is Sunrise van de Schubbekuteveen, he has 50 goals on the season. They were an amazing top forward line for the Kings. Miami Marauders has a long list of players to have played for them, and the top guys are right winger Mikey Markov with 118 points and defence Hari Singh Nalwa with 102 points, Markov with a 52 goal season. Minnesota Storm has a decent forward first line with Logain Ablar 76 points, Finn Davis 75 points, Nayt Bedard 73 points and Ablar with 40 goals in this past season. Mississauga Hounds had a great #1 and #2 centers with Nathaniel Minion and Nathaniel Minion they had 114 and 112 points respectively. Numminen had 46 goals to be the top goal scorer on the team. Ottawa Lynx made a lot of transactions and with that the top guys were defence Ben Aky with 69 points and 28 goals to be the top guy in both categories on this team, and a special mention to right wing Zen Raider with 48 points. Philadelphia Reapers had a great first line for forwards with Darth Kaprizov with 117 points, Gregory Bates with 110 points and Miroslav Tsarov with 100 points and 51 goals. San Diego Marlins, my team this past season, there were a few good forward players on the team however the top guys were Alexander Rivers at 85 points and 41 goals to be the top guy, and Pippo Coca with 78 points. Saskatoon Wild had a great team themselves with a player leading the league in points and that is Duncan Montana with 149 points and 61 goals on the team, other great players to note were Kyle Peace with 129 points and Dekster Jankowski with 109 points. Probably one of the best first line forwards in the league this past season. The Yukon Rush had a lot of new players this past season with Kyosti Karjalainen and Norris Sirois being the Rush's best two forwards with 72 and 68 points respectively. Karjalainen is a 37 goal scorer this past season being the top player for the Rush. That would be the end of this list, it will be interesting to see where these players will go in the future, lots of respect to all of these top players on every team, and and all of the supporting players, I think there will be a lot of good players in the upcoming VHL draft and I’m excited to see what happens!
  6. That's a good idea, I'll definitely look to post an onscreen list next time!
  7. I think the success for Calgary to come from a low spot in the standings to a playoff spot is one thing to focus on a little more in an article such as this. When it comes to the team, I would also love to hear about players, possible Tom, who may have been at least nominated for some trophies, considering the team came form a rough start, to a decent playoff position. I see Tom being one of the better players from what I read in this article and it seems like he will likely have a good future for upcoming seasons. This makes me interested on seeing Tom Eagles future in the VHL. I give it an 8/10
  8. Weeks to claim: sept 5 - current sept 12 sept 19 sept 26
  9. This is my first VHL Podcast, I do a deep dive on each VHL teams current prospects and rank them from 16-1. This is a new thing I am doing so let me know what I can improve as I plan on doing more. Also give me where you would rank each teams prospect pools, this was opinion based, so you can definitely make some good arguments.
  10. @Victor When you say scorer do you mean goals or points?
  11. 1- Are you exited to be part of the Brigade? Extremely excited, I'm ready to win! 2- How do you expect your player to do in the sim? Do you you want him to be more offensive, defensive or more like an enforcer? I like being the helper, I'm sure I'd take off with a sniper on my line. 3- Is the VHL the first simulation hockey league you have been part to? Yup, the only simulation league in general. 4-Do your player have any pregame ritual or any pregame meal? Love to hit the bar before a game. 5- Do you like how the Discord is managed? Do you have any suggestions to improve the Discord or our team locker room? It seems pretty good, a lot of interactions, love discord. 6- Last one. An off topic question. Which one do you like the most: waterslide or roller coaster? Roller coaster, I gotta be honest, not a good swimmer, and imagine something bad happening while you in a tube part of a slide, nobody's there and somehow you cant find air and you drown in there... Anyways roller coaster is fun!
  12. After getting asked to join the San Diego Marlins, I was thrilled, and quickly accepted the offer. I was not expecting much after the injury I endured as I previously stated in the junior review, but I was dedicated to becoming my best self. I practiced and focused, I tried my best to improve myself, and I can say that my skills are better, I have been looking to rise to become the next great star on this team, however, I still have a long road. I have been looking to make an impact on my playmaking game, to get some extra assists and give the puck to get more goals for my linemates. My playmaking ability really got to another level since my junior years, even though the stats do not show. It was a ride since joining the league, ups, and lows, but one thing is for sure, I am ready for anything that will come next, my scoring ability is not up to par as it was in the past, however, the goal I am working on with my team is to get better scoring abilities. My teammates at the San Diego Marlin are crazy, on and off the ice, with the top guys in the locker room really keeping morale up through the tough times and encourage us to keep up the good. Right from the start, my teammates were welcoming and helping me and other new league members to improve myself. Although I know how the league works for the most part, but it helps to have more experienced members to show me around a little more. I enjoyed the season, I have been improving throughout the season, but it has not shown on my stats. San Diego is quite good, so it is difficult for me to thrive on a top line, so my time on ice is low as I’m on the bottom line, but I can be a great supporting piece. I ended the season with only 1 goal and 8 assists in 62 games, and I am thrilled to start my first playoff in this league, the team is extremely excited to fight for the cup. It is not going to be easy as we are playing a team, we have not won against all season but get got the plans and we got the team really preparing to win everything. This is what we played for all season, and we do not want to just fall out without a fight.
  13. 1. We made it to playoffs! Our first series is against Mississauga, who beat us 5-0 throughout the season. Do you think STHS will favor us? No we are too good regardless. 2. What does your player do for fun before a big game? Party, I like to get drunk with the bros. 3. How many goals do you think you will score against Mississauga? Or, if you are our goalie, how many saves will you make? maybe 1, I'm the guy to feed the puck. 4. If we did a rebrand, what would our city and name be? Toronto Legions, oh wait what? 5. Have you enjoyed your time in San Diego? Yeah its been a chill time, love the team and management. 6. What weighs more, a ton of feathers or a ton of bricks? Both are equally scary, think of trillions of feathers falling down on you, bet that mess you up as much as bricks would.
  14. 1. WE ARE GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS! Who is excited? Everyone in the locker room seem damn thrilled. 2. With one game left to play this season, Do you feel that this next game against Halifax will set us up for the Playoff games against Halifax? lol i dont care who were against, I will make sure we win everything bud. 3. What do you plan to do after this season is over? I plan win the cup and party. 4. Tell us what a typical dinner consists off after a game? I like to have a quarter pounder with cheese and bacon, 2 mcdoubles with bacon, large fries, and a large iced tea, oh cant forget the mcflurry. 5. Do you have any thoughts on strategy for the upcoming Playoffs? Just to sweep all those kids up until the daycare calls the parents to take them home. 6. Now that we are at the end of our season, have we met your early expectations of the season? Why or why not? No, I thought that wed make it to first, but it doesn't matter, as long as we make it to the playoffs, that's all we need to win everything... like we will do soon.
  15. +10 Brendan Marner
  16. I remember the day I started hockey like it was yesterday, I was so excited to play, I wanted to just play every game, and always hated the end horn that eventually came. I kept trying to play more and more, playing more games, playing mini stick hockey, and even getting my dad to make an outdoor rink in my back yard. Every game I would get better and better with passing, shooting, skating, everything. I continued to play as I got older and moved on from mini stick hockey to outdoor rinks, I couldn’t stop playing. My parents loved that I was an active kid, but they didn’t like that I was focusing on hockey and not schoolwork, so they threatened if my grades didn’t go up, I would need to take a break from hockey. This didn’t sit well with me, but I decided that it wasn’t going to end well if I did not compile, so I stopped going to the outdoor rink, to focus more on school. It clearly helped me bring up my grades however my hockey skills had a clear drop off, so when summer rolled around my mother gave me an opportunity to join a hockey camp, and I was happy to accept. This hockey camp would prove to be one of the best things to happen to my hockey career, I ended up learning to improve my hockey IQ and my skills in general. It was also one of the more difficult things I have done, workout after workout, and the lack of sleep killed me, but I knew the next hockey season would be amazing. Once the next season rolled around, that was when my competitive career began, I was sure that there would be ready, and I defiantly was. I became the captain and the top points guy, only to lose the top goal scoring spot to one other player. However, I wasn’t deterred, I was the top assist scorer by far, I’ve always wanted to be the helper, I don’t really care to be the face that can only score, I believe it to be more beneficial to give a crazy pass to give all my line mates a beauty of a chance to score. If you have 1 top goal scorer versus 5 top goal scorers, what do you think will happen? This proved right after my line were all in the top 10 in goal scorers that year. I continued my career by joining the camp every year, improving every year, playing hockey at any chance that I got. I was constantly asked to substitute to teams who needed the extra player and played a lot of outdoor hockey again. Since I was able to keep my grades up, my parents had no problem with how much I was playing, little did they know, where I was going to head in just a few years. However, my plans were almost ended after I got injured the season before going into the VHLM. After getting hit from behind into an opened door, I got my arm stuck between it, as my body flew through the door, breaking my arm. I ended up being hospitalized, and the other player who hit me was suspended as he only hit me because his team was losing. I was worried that my playing career would be over. I still loved the game, and I did not want to end there, so I let my body rest, and as soon as I was ready, I came back and trained day after day. By the VHLM season start, I wasn’t ready, however, I wasn’t willing to give up, so I trained more and more, to the point I was partly back to myself. I was much better before my broken arm, but I knew I would get back to my old self. 10 games into the season, the San Diego Marlins would also believe in me and would sign me to a 1-year deal, this was one of the best moments in my life, I was ready, I was determined, and I knew the next stop would be to win the cup and then move on to the VHL and obviously win that cup as well.
  17. 1. How do you think you did during this weeks games? Not too crazy for me, but I am not the top guy, I am a support guy right now. 2. We're 8 points ahead of Ottowa; the current 9th place team. What line pairs would you like to see during the next few weeks of the season? It doesnt matter, we WILL be moving up in the standing before we go down. 3. What do you think the strategy should be to make us more competitive with higher teams like Mississauga, Mexico City, and Saskatoon. WIN WIN WIN... 4. Who do you think is our Locker Room MVP at this midpoint of the regular season? Xavier Booberry is a great player on and off the ice, with special mention to John Baard. 5. How do you feel about going up against Halifax in the first round of playoffs? Assuming the standing stay the same. They will lose, we will win. there is no question about it. We are pros bud. 6. How did you end up in the position you currently play? Played it my whole life bud.
  18. Add me pls!
  19. 1. I think it would be cool to be able to request things from you teams, such as more minutes, different line mates, etc. This can make it more realistic especially for star players not playing with that playmaker to feed him the puck to snipe the puck, and could be more interesting for the gms. Trade request button could also make things interesting. This may be a thing already but idk. I think it could make things difficult, but very fun and realistic for gms. 2. Having contract negotiations could be fun if you think your getting underpaid, this could be a thing for stars, but idk, I've never got a chance to do something like this lol, I think that would be fun negotiations, and for people who wanna win the cup, you can persuade them to take less. 3. Having a place to check the lineups as a player would be nice, and checking for captains and such. I feel like these might be a thing but idk where lol
  20. 1. We are half-way through the season, how do you expect the season to finish? With my team in the playoff obviously. 2. Who do you think will be the biggest impact player for the remainder of this season? John Baard has been killing it for us in the 12 games he's played here, probably has more to give. 3. What areas do you think the team need to improve? If so, where, and why? We don't have too much defense, might me a good idea to add more good players there if possible. 4. What kind of miracle do you think we need to complete to make it to the playoffs? Miracle? We will get in, the other teams think we are weak, we just playing weasel. 5. What is the routine of your player, what does a pre-game ritual look like? I feel ready once I leave the bar. 6. Which team in the VHLM, VHLE or VHL has your favorite logo? Why? Houston Bulls have a sick logo, and a great 2 player team.
  21. 1. What are your opinions on our current 6-13-1 record? We'll comeback and win everything, I just like giving people a show, an end of season comeback is always a great show. Also my dealer is on strike so once he's back we'll be chillin. 2. Do you have any favorite players in the VHL? Once I get in I will. 3. Who was your inspiration for becoming a hockey player? That Happy Gilmore guy was my boi, but the other teams can do the golf part first. 4. Do you have any game day superstitions? Pre-game drinks baby! 5. Do you plan to go to the VHLE when it opens up? I don't know what that is, but yes. 6. What is your goal to accomplish this season? I WILL have the most points by the end of the season
  22. haha yeah I try to be a forum elitist, but discord honestly kind of reminded me to check the site when I was on a busy schedule. great podcast btw
  23. @JardyB10 Yeah pretty much, I had a good amount of TPE with my first character and got busy so I left (also the VHL team I was on didn't use discord so I partly forgot to check), but I recently joined back because I remembered the grand ol'time it was. I was waiting for the F### the Newbies ABC's, kinda disappointed
  24. 1. Are you doing anything exciting while in San Diego? Yes hanging out at the bars of course! 2. What are you doing to improve your player? Taking steroids, don't tell the league managers though. 3. What can the Marlins Management do to be better for you? 50mill$ a season will make me play better for sure. 4. Do you do any extra drills after practice to improve your skills? Yes, I play lots of NHL 21. 5. Where do you see your player in a few seasons? Being the face of the Hall of Fame. 6. Does ketchup belong on a hotdog? Yes, mayo, cheese and onions as well!
