    1.  You have a record of (8-4-2 ) since our last press conference. With Seattle hot on your trail, how important is it to you to be the top team ?
I think the most important aspect is to go into the playoffs hot, which is a good possibility since we are getting our backup games out of the way early.
    2.  How do you feel about the Wranglers most recent contract extensions ? A 2 year deal to Edwin The Encarnacion and A 3 year deal to Willie Dredge.
I am very excited to be back, Calgary has allowed me to break out this season with some great linemates. As for Encarnacion I thought it was imperative to sign him if he was willing to stay, what he has to offer is too good to give up for free.
    3. The VHL has theme week this week. Which theme would you like to see the league do, if you could choose ?
Something that is easy to make a graphic about haha.
    4.  Mikko Lahtinen is currently on an 8 game goal scoring streak and an 11 game point streak. No one is hotter right now!  Can you explain his explosive breakout this season ?
There is only one explanation.... BEKETOV IS ABUSING HIS POWERS!!!! In all seriousness I think it's just a lot of good factors going on. A good build, good linemates, chemistry etc.
    5. Latrell Mitchell and General Zod are in the top 10 in +/- in the entire league. They also lead all rookies and deserve a little recognition. They have been great in their roles this season. Do you have any pointers to keep them  going in right direction?
It's not easy going + in this league of scoring, props to them for keeping it out of the net.
    6. Which is the best:
waffles, pancakes or French toast ?
This is the hardest decision of life and you force me to make it in the morning... All of them combined with bacon and eggs please. Breakfast=best meal of day

    S74: $4,500,000

    S75: $4,500,000

Yo Jubi! I can appreciate a graphic like this because it stands out from the ordinary. The drawing effect, not even sure how you pulled it off, is great and it makes for such an interesting graphic that draws the eye's attention. The glowing highlight goes well with this cartoon/drawing effect and also brings out smaller darker lines and crevices that in return bring detail to the graphic. Where I believe the graphic lacks is in the text, In my opinion it is taking away from the graphic in it's simplicity. I'm not sure what font could fix this, but adding a blend to the text that would create the same effect from the image to the text would probably look better than a simple font. Other than that it is a great concept and great execution. Review: 8/10

    1. You are the number 1 team in the league at (14-5-1).  You have the most goals for, least goals against.  Can you still continue to climb from here?
We can, but the question is should we. Last season we fizzled in the playoffs so maybe we should be saving some of our magnificent firepower for the real deal while maintaining top seed.

    2. How important is it to you, that the Wranglers get contract extensions signed for upcoming UFA's Edwin The Encarnacion,  Willie Dredge and Mikko Lahtinnen ?
Lahtinen is a must as he is breaking out this season into a true star player for years to come. The Encarnacion is having a good season for us and I think he should be coming back next season.

    3. Can you explain why Calgary would be a great team to sign an extension with ?
After being in the locker room for awhile, I can say that Calgary is an extremely fun and active locker room. The guys that make up the team are excellent and makes a player want to stay and have another go just to have another season of talking with them daily.

    5. Who is your favorite player that is not a Calgary Wrangler ?
Jaguar has been fun to watch the past few seasons.

    6. Nevermind a playoff beard. You get to choose a new funky hairstyle for a playoff run. What are you going with ?
(Share a pic or GIF if you want)
Dredge will grow his hair out to his knees and have the most luscious lettuce the VHL has ever seen!

    7. If you had to choose one. What would your dream VHL job be ?
I think once I have more experience in the VHL I would try to GM in the VHLM and see how I like it and what I can do for new players.
  7. Cheers

Hey there, I like the graphic. The concept of having the render inside/through the logos is awesome and well executed. The slight blur around certain areas aid it in blending the image together and is well done. When the graphic is enlarged the text effect sort of hurts the eyes but I see when it is reduced into a smaller sig the effect actually is soothing and works well. I like the work that is done and I can't really find anything to nitpick at, maybe if anything there could be more color variations in the background instead of all black?

Overall good graphic, really cool concept and great execution of said concept. 8.5/10

Hello! First off I would like to say that this is really well done in my opinion. The render is very very clear and every detail is sharp. The slight fog/shine effect on the shoulders is good and I think it adds a lot to the graphic. Great choice of background that complements the color palette you chose to go for in this graphic. Lighting and shading is done well although personally I do my graphics with a bit more lighting and shading as I think it makes graphic more dramatic, but thats just me. IF I had to nitpick/add criticism to certain things, I would say the fog/shine on the helmet looks slightly off, I think it would have been better to have no fog effect on the helmet and highlight the lighting more. As for the text, I think having a color dodge text with slightly less filling effect would have looked great considering the background and color palette you chose, but honestly the text looks fine as it is.

Overall, I really like this graphic, good work. 8.8/10

    1. Calgary has two new rookies that  will join you this season. Latrell Mitchell @dasboot (D) drafted 3rd overall and General Zod @Matt_O (D) drafted 6th overall. How will you welcome them to the team ?
I think some harmless hazing is to take place just to get them used to the lax/fun locker room vibe we have here in Calgary.
    2. Jacques Lafontaine just got his contract extended 5 more seasons past S72. What do you think about this potential franchise goalie signing ?
He has proven himself already, so its a good signing and will benefit this team greatly.
    3. The Calgary Wranglers went 42-28-2 in S71. What Record do you predict to have in S72 ?
50 wins. 50 flippin wins baby.
    4.  In S71 Calgary finished with the 2nd most "goals for" with 211. Calgary also allowed 201 goals against, which was 3rd most. If you had to predict a total GF and GA for S72, what would they be ?
    Goals For: 205
    Goals Against: 175
    5. In this upcoming season, would you consider anything less than making the cup finals a success ?
When I got shipped to Calgary, thats what I saw this team as. A grizzled veteran cup winning team.
    6. With new faces from the trade deadline and now the draft, let's get to know the members. This is good for members who have been around awhile  too.

Speed got a reaction from diamond_ace in Dredge has Costochondritis
Calgary Wrangler's right winger Willie Dredge has come down with a very frustrating condition called costochondritis. The condition is usually comes with a heart attack scare, as the pain resides in the chest area in the upper ribs and resembles the initial pain of a heart attack. Fortunately the condition has nothing to do with the heart, but can still bring a lot of frustration as many activities bring on the sharp pain in the chest including almost any exercise, cardio, or weightlifting. This pain can reduce one's activity to only stretches to relieve pain and keep muscles loose. Contrary to popular belief, the condition actually is not a mysterious inflammation in the sternum and chest area, although inflammation is brought on by the condition. The condition is caused by the thoracic spine and ribs in the back being frozen by collagen, disallowing the ribs in the back to be mobile and take pressure off the ribs in the front. This results in the ribs and the attached cartilage being stretched past their intended point, therefore causing pain and inflammation.

To fix the condition, one must first break open the frozen collagen in the thoracic spine. One does this by either visiting a chiropractor, a tennis ball, or something else firm and able to put a considerable amount of force into the thoracic spine and the collagen. This is just the beginning though, as the collagen must be stretched in order to prevent it to freeze the vertebrae again. To prevent this, one must be breaking open the collagen daily and mobilizing their thoracic spine. To mobilize the thoracic spine, one can sit in a chair and do a swinging motion with the torso with their hands clasped in front of their chest. One can think of this as elbowing someone behind them. One should also hold that stretch as a separate stretching routine, as well as stretching the side of their ribs by doing a classic side stretch while sitting. Doing these stretches throughout the day, possibly 4-5 times is ideal and recommended.

Costochondritis does not go away overnight. It takes a lot of work and perseverance to continue stretching and doing small exercises to mobilize the spine and ribs. Try to return to normal activities a week too early and all progress can be reversed. It is also important to not be scared of the condition, as it sounds scary but it really is not that huge of a deal. It just gets frustrating and requires determination if one would like to get rid of it and prevent it from returning.

    Fuck Costochondritis. Speed out.

    1. What would be your ideal player stats for the upcoming season ?
I am hoping to finally get my breakout season which for me would be 30-30. I do realize I am more of a supporting role on this Calgary team but it would be nice to get some production going.
    2.  Who do you think should win the "Slobodzian Trophy " (most outstanding player) and why ?
I looked at my former teammates stats, Brick Wahl still has it even at the brink of retirement!
    3. I don't like this question but if it's not Calgary hoisting the cup in S72, who has the next best chance ?
I think Moscow is an outstanding team, and has a good chance.
    4. The Wranglers are having a secret off season party. Who is the best candidate to host it ?
It's got to be me, Dredge would get every player smoking a fatty and on their ass by the end of the night.
    5. No VHL player scored more than 40 goals in S71. Will someone do it in S72 ?
Seems like the trend is downwards, but if someone could it would probably be one of those studs from Moscow.
    6.  Which VHL player has the best chance of hitting 100pts this season ?
Jaguar maybe. Moscow has a good roster.
    7. Had the NHL not been postponed, who wouldve won the Stanley Cup ?
I think Boston would have a good chance with that hot first line.

    1. Ok so things didn't go as planned.  You have just been eliminated by Vancouver in game 6. I know the wound is fresh but how do you feel ?
Pretty disappointed in myself, I did not contribute at all and maybe it would have made a difference.
    2. Can Calgary come back next season an even stronger team ?
I don't doubt it, Calgary is a strong team already but had a unfortunate ending.
    3. Do you have any plans for the off season ?
I am only practicing my game, I did not have the season I wanted.
    4. What NA conference team are you cheering for now ?
None, not even watching the games.
    5. What EU conference team are you rooting for ?
My former team Prague if they can make it.
    6. Are you happy here in Calgary ?
I'm happy in Calgary but not happy with my production.

    1. With the NA conference being currently stacked. The New York Americans (25-23-2) are 9 points out of a playoff spot and might be the best team in recent seasons to miss the playoffs. How do you think they feel about their misfortune ?
It's obviously not a good feeling, but that's how the league is set up and there's not much players can do but play.
    2. With only 3 points separating  the top 4 teams in the NA conference, who would you rather play in round 1 and why?  Seattle 63 pts , D.C 63 pts or Vancouver 61 pts
I like our chances versus any of them, but D.C for me given our recent performances against them.
    3. Calgary gives you a performance based bonus of $500K. You have to spend it all. How would you spend the money ?
I spend it on the most luxurious and comfortable pillow for the plane, my neck is killing me after that long flight from Prague.
    4. Jacques Lafontaine has played 50 games and has 31 wins. He is allowed to play 14 more games. Can he record 9 more wins to hit the elusive "40 win " mark ?
It would be awesome to see him get 40 in the win column, our defense will definitely be on their toes.
    5.  What is your favorite meal of the day?
Breakfast has the best foods that you can ask for.
    6. Would you consider yourself to be a night owl or a morning person?
Hard to say but probably morning, I'm one that likes to knock out a good workout at the earliest moment of my day.

Dredge wanted a change of scenery because STHS was not being as kind to him here as he would have liked, and rather than lose him for free at the end of the season, I got something for him. If it was strictly what I thought was best for the team, our guy would still be in purple, with a shiny new contract. That wasn't what he felt was best for him though, and I can respect that.

The Prague Phantoms are in the thick of the race for the #1 seed and home court advantage in the European Conference. As a result, the team has had to make some decisions in regards to evaluating and realign their positioning in order to make the most out of the run down the final stretch. As a result, a Prague Phantom since Day 1, Willie Dredge has been dealt away to Calgary.

"Man this trade really hits home for me, you know? Willie and I have been teammates since our Yukon days in the VHLM. Seabass Perrin too - we've stuck together so far, Dredge was the third leg of our trio. Solid guy, I've always enjoyed chatting with him form now and then in the locker room. He doesn't stir much, just comes in and do his thing and goes out of the building. I know that he didn't seem like a good fit here, but the guy was coming in every day and try to figure out how to best align with us, and vice versa.

That's my kind of guy. So, to bid farewell to him is a little tough on me personally. I was kinda bummed when another one of our boys, Erik Draven decided to leave the team last season. Now Dredge too? Uh… I don't know. But I guess that is the nature of the game, the business of professional sports. You make relationships, connections with guys, and the team management just does whatever they think is the best for the team. Sure, there's some player input -- but ultimately, how can we say no to something that the team management thinks is best for the team?

We're all under contract here, folks. After all, we are all working toward one universal goal and that's to raise up the Cup at the end of the season. If I didn't think that our goals were aligning, I would be asking for a way out of this team. So, yeah. That's all I got for today. Got to keep our heads in the game and our eyes on the ultimate goal ahead of us."
