Hello VHL Fam, Welcome to the S80 edition of the World Cup! Traditionally, we would be posting a hiring thread and carefully selecting members to manage our World Cup teams but we have decided to change things up this season. Myself and World Cup Co-Commish @bigAL have carefully selected existing GM's from the VHL, VHLE and VHLM to go head to head against one another in one of the VHL's most exciting tournaments. Each GM that we have selected range from new GM's that are trying to make a name for themselves all the way up to GM's with literal years of experience and are some of the most respected and dare I say feared GM's the league has ever had. They will go head to head putting their skills as GM's to the test and only one will walk away with their Nation holding the World Cup! Review: Cool concept! The player and background look super sick. I would maybe dial back on the effects used slightly as it is a bit over aggressive. The one thing that isn’t sitting right would be the font choice. The style and colouring don’t really blend well with the rest of the graphic. There is also a lot of open space that could have been utilized with the wording. I don’t know what your experience level is but if you’re starting out then this is a great start with lots of potential. Rating 6.5/10

Review: Very simple but cool. Nice work on the logo swap. The font choice matches the concept of the whole graphic. My only issue with this piece is the placement of the player. It looks semi awkward because he’s kind of floating in the picture. I would zoom him in and not be afraid to have his legs cut off at the bottom of the picture. It’ll help make him more of the focal point and it’ll look more natural. I really like the effect you used with the player kind of fading out behind him. It would look great even if he was zoomed in. Good job overall though! 7.5/10

Answers: 1) tbh I thought Vancouver and their meta team would be doing better but I’ve been rooting for Moscow so it’s a pleasant surprise so far. 2) The day of a game I like to keep it light. Some fresh greens and fish are the way to go for me. 3) Continue to train and prepare for next season. We are losing a lot of key pieces so Reylynn is going to need to step up big time. Questions 1) If someone made you a sig right now, who would be your render choice and why? 2) If the VHL was a real life league, how big would the arenas be? (i.e similar to nhl building size, junior sized arenas, etc.) 3) You’ve been told you’re being traded from your current team! Who are you hoping they traded you to?

Review: I’m going to start with the obvious and that is his head being cut off at the top. I would have shrunk the background enough so his head hit the top and it looked more natural. I like the background choice although it reminds more of Miami. Font choices are cool but they yellow doesn’t match the logo colors. I would just take a little more time to practice different things and ask questions from people you know that make graphics. Honestly my first graphic looks just like this haha so don’t worry you’ll get better! Rating: 5.5/10

Review: Another great piece Kaleeb! The entire graphic ties in well together. The effects on the player tie in well with the background as well as the effects on the lettering. The logo swap is pretty good but not perfect. The only real issue I have is with how the “22” breaks away from his arm. It just doesn’t look natural with the effects that was used. Overall super solid graphic! 8/10

Our purple power needs to be stronger than it is in its current form. 3) Zdeno Chara cuz Jubis is my guy! 4) I think they should look at drafting Nezuko! 5) I actually think it helped a lot, both GMs were from the NA conference so little harm could have been done. 6) Oh man! Sexual harassment comes in all shapes and forms. Any form of it is completely unacceptable. It should be taken seriously in any situation in life. Whether you play pro sports or play virtual games we need to be considerate of other genders, races and sexualities. Anyone who crosses that line should be disciplined and it should be consistent. People need to learn these things are not okay. I have a wife, 5 sisters and 2 daughters, they shouldn’t have to live in a world not being respected and treated equally. I stand by Sam and the women in this league and support any punishment handed out to those who violate the rules of sexual conduct in this league.

I will apply although I am the GM of Calgary. -I am on throughout the entire day and respond to discord notification quite quickly. I’m usually on from 630 am - 1130 PM MST. Weekend as late as 2-3AM. -I am also a lot older than 20. Although I won’t disclose publicly lol. -I may not have the most experience when it comes to moderating but can keep an unbiased perspective on a situation and follow the correct course of action to resolve any issue that may arise. 1) Press Conference is honestly one of the boring TPE tasks for me, how would you make it more exciting? I personally like the Answer 3, Ask 3 format. It allows everyone to be involved. 2) We have had a couple of big sims and a couple of bad sims. Why do you think the team is so streaky? We just want to keep all of our fans on the edge of their seats. 3)Did your player get a degree before the VHL or did they go straight into Hockey? Straight to hockey. I did not spend any time in the college ranks before joining the VHL. 4) What is the worst injury you have had? I fracture my shoulder and tore the muscle. Also I had my arm sliced open and required 36 stitches. Both were pretty bad. 5)Are you scared of the dentist? If so, why? I am not at all scared of the dentist, it’s silly if you are. 6)If you play Board Games, what is your favourite game at the moment. If not what is your favourite video game. If you play neither, how do you pass the time? I love board games. My faves would be Clue, Risk and Chess. Although I’ll play just about any board game.
