  2. Let’s go @tinafrombobsburgers!!!!
  3. Sometimes that all it takes lol. I do love the Reinhart font across the front. The neon style background is a good choice too. Makes me think Miami vice a bit.
  4. This is hot AF. Thanks man
  5. Goodluck DC, Helluva a series. Just wasn’t our time.
  6. Excellent choice
  7. Welcome everyone to another addition of the Calgary Wranglers Regular Season Awards. Each season we like to take a moment to highlight the success of our members for all of the hard work they put into their players and for the team as a whole. Each member regardless of whether they win an award or not have all contributed to the teams success and for that I thank all of you. Now lets get started on our first award... The Top Shelf Award Each season the Top Shelf Award is handed to the player who leads the team in goals scored during the regular season. This season the scoring came by committee as everyone on the roster contributed to the score sheet. Despite our defensive style of play this season there was one player who stood above the rest when it came to goals scored. I would like to congratulate our S79 Top Shelf Award winner Dan Dan! @MMFLEX Dan finished the season with 36 goals which was two ahead of his line mate Luke Thornton whom was last seasons winner of this award. Dan set a career high in goals this season with the Wranglers and we are excited to see how much further he can push the boundaries next season. The Rybak Trophy Our next award is given to the player who leads the team in points during the regular season. As a newcomer to the team many were unaware of the impact this player would have on the Wranglers roster when he joined the team earlier this season. It was a natural fit as he came in and contributed on and off the ice immediately. He set a career high in points during the regular season with 77 which was 12 points better than his previous career high. I would like congratulate once again Dan Dan @MMFLEX on becoming the S79 winner of the Rybak Trophy! Young Buck Award I like this award a lot because it highlights a player who doesn't play for the Wranglers but one that is going to be a Wrangler in the future. Our prospects are a big part of our organizations and they deserve some spotlight for the work they put in down in the minors. The winner of this award is a first generation player who has shown immense amount of promise early in his career. He has been working hard training his player in preparation of making the jump into the newly formed VHLE. If he continues on this trajectory we will see him in between the pipes in Calgary in only a couple short seasons. I have been extremely impressed with his work ethic and therefor am excited to present the Young Buck Award to Alex Parise @Joker_TM! Jubis Memorial Trophy The Jubis Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who shows the most potential for long term success as a member of the VHL. This could be a member who has become part of management with aspirations on becoming a GM one day or someone who has taken on more responsibility in the league by picking up jobs. The winner of this seasons award has shown immense involvement in the league since becoming a member. He has created a player who is going to be very successful for seasons to come but has also become more and more involved in the league as seasons progress. He is currently an AGM of the Philadelphia Reapers and is showing he has what it takes to become a GM in the very near future. He is involved with the VSN writing articles about the league. He is a consistent voice in our locker room and loved by his teammates. I am happy to announce that the winner of the S79 Jubis Memorial Trophy is Alex Johnston! @Alex_J32 The Sheriffs Badge Being a leader on a team isn't always an easy task. You must be willing to put the team ahead of your own needs in order for everyone to find success. This season a new set of captains were announced and our leadership group did a fantastic job putting the teams needs ahead of their own. This one player in particular had a personal decline in statistics this season and while they might have been discouraging personally he never waivered from his team first mentality throughout the entire season. No matter the result of a game or whether a team mate was on a slump, this player was there with encouraging words all season long. Its members and teammates like this that keep things fun and engaging no matter the circumstance and that is why I am honored to award the S79 Sheriffs Badge to Calgary Captain Nathan Perry! @tinafrombobsburgers The Last Line Award The Last Line Award to handed to the top defensemen during the regular season. This season was tough as we have a handful of amazing talent on the back end who shut down opposing teams offense's night in and night out. The player we selected not only did his job on the back end but was also a catalyst on the offensive end of the ice as well. He lead all defensemen on the team with 62 points in 72 games and was 5th on the team in scoring. He has been a vital part of our defensive core the past two seasons and extremely deserving of this award for the work he has put in with the Wranglers. Id like to congratulate Tyler Walker @Advantage on becoming the S79 winner of the Last Line Award. The MVW (Most Valuable Wrangler) Each season we like to have the players vote on whom they believe was the most valuable player this season for the Calgary Wranglers. The players have voted and this season we have TWO winners of the MVW. The first player voted on lead the way for the team on the ice. He did it all when it came to scoring and playing well in his own end. His contributions didn't end there as he was a positive and vocal voice in our locker room and has become a locker room favorite in such a short time. The next player who also won this award was the ultimate leader for the Wranglers this season. He has been a beloved member since joining the team a few short seasons ago and his impact on and off the ice have left a lasting effect on his teammates. I am happy to announce that the Co-Winners of The "MVW" are Dan Dan @MMFLEX & Nathan Perry @tinafrombobsburgers. Congratulations!! Top Media Spot The winner of the Top Media Spot for S79 is going to a member who isn't necessarily known for writing too many of these. However I do think she deserves some recognition for the times that she does. The top media spot comes from our recent theme week relating to the VHL Awards. How very fitting that she would receive an award on an article about awards lmao. When she writes she does an excellent job and this article is no exception. Congratulations to Joe Madison @Brewins15 on winning this seasons Top Media Spot Award. Top Graphic The Top Graphic Award is being given to the player who has shown consistency in trying to get better at his craft. This member has been shelling out graphics all season long and each of them very different and creative. He has shown immense improvement over the course of the season and is deserving of the recognition. The graphic I chose of his has a magazine style layout showing the pressure mounting on a leader of this team. Its creative, original and well thought out. Congratulations Nathan Perry @tinafrombobsburgers on winning this seasons Top Graphic Award. Top Podcast Not many members can commit to the podcast game in the VHL. Calgary is very fortunate to have a couple players who are known for their podcasting abilities. This seasons award winner puts out a few podcasts each season. Each one I have personally enjoyed listening to which always gets me hyped for the next one that comes out. The podcast most recently posted covered his thoughts on this seasons theme week: The Awards. Highly recommend giving it a listen if you have some time to kill. With that said I would like to congratulate this seasons Top Podcast winner Steve Eso @Eso! Well that wraps up the S79 edition of the Calgary Wranglers Regular Season Awards. Each and every winner is well deserved and for those who didn't win I would not worry to much. Each of your contributions to this team has not gone unnoticed and we are extremely grateful to each and everyone of you. I am excited to get back at this after Season 80 because it is fun to watch how each and every player evolved over the seasons. The awards are a fun reflection of that and I hope that everyone who has read this, enjoyed it. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs! The Awards will be back again next season. GO WRANGLERS! 1500 + words
  8. 1. With London selling off some of their assets, the 6th-place team in our conference should be expected to drop off somewhat, meaning that barring anything going horribly wrong...we're in the playoffs for the first time since S73! What's the first thing you're doing to celebrate? No time to celebrate just yet. We will need to turn our focus on to Prague and get ready to win our first series. We can celebrate when we have brought home the Continental Cup. 2. I've noticed throughout the season that our power play and penalty kill have been consistently terrible, even though I've been experimenting with our setup there just as much as I've been messing with the regular lines. If we had even average units there, do you think it would make much of a difference in the standings, or are Warsaw and Malmo just too far ahead? Malmo would probably still be too far ahead. I do think we would be a little higher in the standings if our special teams were clicking. 3. With today being deadline day, the team directly below us in the standings in Prague has decided to make some roster moves. Though none are necessarily major, they've improved somewhat. Should we be any more worried about them than before, or is it business as usual? Business as usual. I would have liked to had seen some improvement in Davos but we are going to have to ride it out with the squad we have. 4. Also with deadline day comes the emergence of recreates! Are there any new players (listed here) that you're particularly excited for? Any of the ones who earn on a consistent basis. We need players who can help this team now and in the long haul so I am targeting a recreate who will be working hard each and every week. 5. What's a musical artist whose appeal you don't understand? Billy Eilish. She has a terrible voice, I can barely understand half the crap she says. Her lyrics are great but in my opinion she should stick to song writing and stay away from singing. 6. Who's someone you admire who isn't from the USA, Canada, or your own country (if it's neither of those two)? Like a public figure? or someone I know personally? This is a weird one haha. I do have friends from other countries I admire because they are good friends.
  9. Lines will be in on Monday! Once I’m back from camping
  10. I’ll claim Downey! I’ll get on it after I get back from camping.
  11. Let’s F-ing Go!!!! Congrats Cow, so stoked you’re joining us up in the VHL
  12. Ranch & Franks mixed
  13. Yaaaaaaaas
  14. Wranglers in a bit of a lull at the wrong time! Let’s finish this season out strong

Woah! A trade on deadline day
  16. Love this idea!
  17. Or “Player Comparison: _____”
  18. I am going to echo Bek and also say that we should have numbers. I also think handedness would be cool even though it isn’t affected in the sim. I don’t mind the idea of profile pictures as you could put a photo of your “render.” Another idea to implement renders is having a spot that says “Models their game after: ______” That would be the person they would want to use as their render.
  19. 1. This week is THEME WEEK! And the topic is VHL Awards. Our topic can sometimes be controversial--do you think the blue team picked out a fun one this week? Why or why not? It has the potential to be a good one as it would be nice to get varying opinions on each award and how they should be voted upon. 2. Speaking of VHL Awards and theme week, have you done a point task on the topic this week (or do you plan to)? If so, what's it about? Yes I have done one. I did a breakdown of my plan for how the Jack Wylde Trophy should be decided on. 3. We've been losing in overtime quite a bit lately. What do you think other teams are doing differently to keep their composure after regulation? Its all chance. Our team isn’t very deep. Top heavy so if our big guns aren’t putting in work then we suffer. 4. Another opportunity for some extra earning came this week when the commissioners asked us for our suggestions on making the league better. Whether or not you've commented in the thread, what's something you'd like to see the league do to improve itself? I am going to ask you to refer to the article I wrote if you are curious of what I wrote about. I don’t want to be redundant and type it out again. 5. More on the topic of suggestions, one of mine was to formally rework how press conferences are done--instead of being asked six questions and answering them all and having to wait for questions to go up every week, my idea was to have every post consist of three answers to previous questions and three questions to be answered by someone else, making it so anyone could do a press conference at any time and everyone interacts with someone different every week. This is something we could do informally as well--would you like us to try it, or are you happy with how things are now? I would be willing to try that actually. It’s kind of a cool idea 6. Time for a third question about the suggestion thread--go to the thread (here's the link again, also in question 4) and find a suggestion you like. What is it and who made it? Don't be afraid to tag the author for some positive recognition. I really liked Tina’s idea about doing an event for the trade deadline similar to the NHL. Not sure it’s feasible but still a fun idea.
  20. Fantastic Article. Extremely solid breakdown of each deal.
