Cxsquared reacted to fishy in VHFL Updates
This week for VHFL updates, I decided to editorialize some interesting cases we’ve got across the league! I’ll also be posting updates for each group in the thread like usual. Also keep an eye out for @tcookie25's "Around the VHL" articles for VHFL updates!

    The biggest jump/fall

Group 14 has seen quite a bit of movement in points. @VinCal, @Jubis, and @domg5 are fighting in the top three, separated only by about 13 points. This past Monday, VinCal was in the lead with 732.99. Only 9 points away, Jubis held a close second with 732.72 and feeling the heat of domg5 in third with 721.97. This week, VinCal has dropped to third with 890.39, and domg5 jumped up to 907.22. Jubis holds second at 893.34, only about 3 points ahead of VinCal. In Group 19, TTtheT has fallen from 3 to 5 and bumped hooperorama and bigAL up one spot each. These two groups are the only ones where users have moved more than one slot, but it still goes to show how much fluctuation is still possible at this point in the season!

    Most movement

Group 6 takes the cake for the most movement this week: everyone in the group switched places with someone else. Last week, the order was @Caboose30, @solas, me, @tcookie25, @tinafrombobsburgers, then @Peace. This week, solas holds first place by about 11 points, followed by Caboose, then tcookie25, me, Peace, and tinafrombobsburgers. No other group saw this kind of shifting - at least one user (or DQ roster) remained in place from last week. First and second, third and fourth, and fifth and sixth in Group 6 are going to be neck and neck as we close out the season; second and third are separated by about 9 points, and fifth and six are only about 18 points apart. As we close out the season, I don’t expect any one user to pull too far ahead of another in this group.

    Smallest differences

With only 86.16 points separating first and sixth place, Group 8 has the tightest group in the league. In sixth place, @youloser1337 has 830.38 points, which could be anywhere between fourth and sixth place in other groups. @KaleebtheMighty holds first place with 916.54 points, which could be anywhere between first and fourth place in other groups. Surprisingly, although this group has the smallest difference between first and sixth place, they the closest runs between users actually goes to another group.

Users with < 2 point difference

    Group 16: @Cxsquared (884.62) and @Jtv123 (884.38)
As of Monday, Jtv held first place, 20 points ahead of cxsquared in second place. Jtv held first place for about 3 weeks, but after only a few days after Monday’s update, these two are only .24 points apart. Although Jtv has some high-scoring players on his roster, like Condor Adrienne and Jacques Lafontaine, Cxsquared has a more consistent roster with points spread more evenly across players. I’ll be interested to see how this plays out between the two of them!

    Group 7: @N0HBDY (819.59) and @Nicolai488 (819.34)
These two, currently duking it out for fifth place in Group 7, are separated only by .25 points. As of Monday, Nicolai held fifth with 677.32 points, and N0HBDY trailed with 657.19. Similar to the case in Group 16, Nicolai has two players carrying his roster, Guy Sasakamoose and Victor Grachev. N0HBDY, on the other hand, has more consistent players on his roster, like Hugh Jass, Jimmy Spyro, Jungkok, and Ray Sheilds, all of whom individually have less than Sasakamoose or Grachev but more than any of Nicolai’s other players. This just goes to show that one player can’t make or break a roster!

    Group 10: @aksuko (857.16) and @Spartan (855.63)
Aksuko and Spartan have been fighting for third for the past couple weeks. Spartan held third for the last two updates, but in the time between those updates, he and aksuko have oscillated between third and fourth. On Monday, Spartan led 697.86 to 686.12. As was the case with 16 and 12, aksuko’s roster is carried by Condor Adrienne and Guy Sasakamoose. The next highest-scoring player on his roster is over 50 points behind Sasakamoose. Though Spartan doesn’t have players as high-scoring as other of those two, half his roster is sitting at around 160 a piece.

    Group 4: @Victor (884.99) and @BladeMaiden (883.62)
When I saw both of these users get assigned to the same group, I knew it’d be an insanely close race. Both Victor and Blade finished in the top 3 users last season, so the friendly competition was on. Surprisingly, the two reigning “medalists” are currently holding down third and fourth, respectively. They’ve been oscillating for the past couple weeks, and I’m excited to see who takes the cake in this one.

And that’s a wrap for VHFL updates this week! Keep an eye out for a notification about updated standings in your group coming soon!

Cxsquared reacted to coochiman in Top 5 best pass first players
Since I don't know what else to write about I'm going to rank the top 5 best of my fellow pass first player's in the VHL. There aint a lot of playmakers in this league so I thought it would be a good idea to give them some recognition and show that we pass first mofos in this shit together. I will rate them mostly on there performances this season with a little bit of consideration into there builds.
    1. LW - Jim Bob @jRuutu
Up top is the undisputed goat, the player every pass first user looks up to, the man the myth the legend Jim Bob. At 1005 TPE, Jimmy has by far the most TPE on this list. He has a solid 9 TPE gap between his passing and scoring and has tallied 39 assists and 61 points this season. In his 5th campaign Jim is having his best season yet as he's already tied his personal record in points, showing that it's possible to put up numbers as a passer.
    2. D - Guy Saskamoose @Cxsquared
Next up we have our first defenseman Guy Saskamoose. While his gap between scoring and passing isn't huge, you can't look past the numbers he's putting up this year on the backend. With an impressive 40 assists already this season, Saskamoose is living the playmakers dream. In his 7th season in the league, Saskamoose looks like he will equal if not better his tally from previous seasons.
    3. D - Ziarie Anigbogu @ngine4
Another defensemen, Ziarie is most likely a questionable player to put on this list since he only as a 1 TPE gap between passing and scoring. Nvertheless I will accept him as one of the bois and put him in his rightful place at number 3. Anigbogu has even most assists than Saskamoose with 42. The only reason he ranks below him is the fact that technically he isn't a full on pass first player.
    4. D - Emi Rune @Emi
A 15 TPE difference in passing and scoring is pretty juicy I would say, her stats are also pretty impressive with a total of 34 assists and 38 points. Emi is probably the most pure playmaker out of the bunch as her build mainly focuses on passing the puck above all else. In her 3rd season she's on pace for an over point a game season for the first time in her career.
    5. RW - Lance Flowers @CowboyinAmerica
Last but not least we have Lance Flowers. With 874 TPA Lance is probably one of the better earners in this top 5 list. What puts him at number 5 is that unfortunately he hasn't the best of starts to the season. With 26 points in 44 games and with 14 of those points being assists it would be unfair to put him above any of the other players. Despite this Lance is still a very talented player and one of the bois with a respectable 10 TPE difference in passing and skating.
This was supposed to be an article but fuck it might as well be a media spot.

For this week on my VHL.com Article I decided to take a look at every rosters and make a top 10 of my favorite names. Don't take it personally if your names is not on the list, my own player's name won't be there and also its all for fun.

    10.  Tee Pee E II @Goliathus
That name is pretty unusual and its a fun one

    9. Chicken Wing @chikn
Thats a pretty funny name I have to say

    8. Cowboy Prout @Prout
I like the sound of that name when you say it

    7. Not A Player @Nope488
don't you dare telling him he is a player

    6. Guy Sasakamoose @Cxsquared
its a pretty long name but it actually sounds good

    5. Fat palloon @UnkemptCL4PTP
I keep reading Fat Balloon for some reason and I find it funny

    4. Joe Exotic @Joe Exotic
Who would have thought that Joe Exotic actually liked hockey?

    3. Jiggly Gumballs @JigglyGumballs
An other name that is very fun to say and for some reason I'd see Quagmire repeating it for a whole episode of family guy.

    2. Wayne Jetski @namanert
that name became one of my favorites the first time I seen it, its awesome!

    1. Zamboni Driver @Tape-to-Tape
That choice of name is just so great, especially for a goalie. Named after a legend of the 19-20 NHL season, I love it really much!

Cxsquared got a reaction from hylands in Sasakamoose's First Malmo Games
It's been a slow start of Sasakamoose with his new team the Malmo Nighthawks. Their first two games, both against the London United, ended in losses. The first game felt like an offensive onslaught. United managed to get 14 more shots on goal than Malmo. Guy Sasakamoose only put up 2 shot blocks that game which isn't going to cut it with shot totals that high. Game two was much better as a team, going equal on shots on goal.

Offensively, Sasakamoose was slow but steady with putting up an assist in each game. Guy really needs to turn on his offensive game and get some shots on net. He only put up 2 shots on net in both games combined. It's a well known fact that the puck won't go in the net without you shooting it.

It's still early for both Malmo and Sasakamoose. Obviously it's going to take some time for Guy to build chemistry with the team. After spending 5 seasons with 1 team it's hard to transfer your skills to a new group. Hopefully next week will see Malmo turn things around and Sasakamoose to turn on his hockey skill.

Malmo Nighthawks team announcement for S75!

GM Frostbeard sits in his comfy chair and streaming his announcement on OnlyFans:

"What an amazing season we had in S74! Great job by everyone, from our truly brilliant fans to everyone on our playing squad. Right now, it is the time to announce the group who will lead us onto the ice this upcoming season, we are refreshed and ready to improve on what was already an amazing season!"

After a team wide vote, our two alternate captains are returning to wear their A's again, not a real surprise that these two are going to be representing the best of Malmo  - our S75 Alternate captains are - Chris Hylands and Ray Sheilds!
Now to the Captain himself, a player who has been our Nr1 guy for the last 7 seasons, a truly brilliant future Hall of Fame inductee is returning to be our captain again, I am proud to announce that Captain of S75 Malmo Nighthawks will be Condor Adrienne!

    Congratulations @Hylands @Zetterberg and @OrbitingDeath!

Cxsquared reacted to Spartan in Team Merc Rolls Through the Round Robin
I'd like to start this off with a friendly MERCS MERCS MERCS!!!!!

Team Mercenaries has had a fantastic start to the S74 World Cup, finishing the round robin phase in 2nd place, with 17 points and a record of 6-3-1. Along the way, here are some of the key games and performances the team put up as a whole:

Defeating Team World 6-1 in our first game Defeating Team USA 5-0 in our sixth game Defeating Team Canada twice, 4-3 and 5-2
The team has had a fantastic start after a few tough losses, gritting out some fantastic wins in tough games despite being the "leftovers" team of the tournament. This is not a team to take lightly, and the players on the team have stepped up massively. @Telkster leads the team in points, with 6 goals and 9 assists. @Seabass leads the team in assists with 12. Along with Telker, @KC15 and @Cxsquared lead the team in goals, with 6 apiece.

Lastly, the strong play has radiated from the man in the net, the legend Jimmy @DarkSpyro Spyro. Through 10 games, Spyro has a SV % of .926, and a GAA of 2.25, both best out of all goalies in the tournament. His strong play has carried the team defensively, allowing the rest of the team to focus on putting up offense. It's a lethal combo that this team of misfits will hope to continue into the medal round!
