One player that really broke out this season and became a legitimate number one d-man is Lucifer Olivier Leveque. He led Seattle’s defense corps in almost every stat category, minus Odin Omdahl beating him in goals. Still, he had 13 goals and 51 assists for a total of 64 points on the season and finished with a +21, which is very high for a team that finished with a goal differential of -2. Leveque had the most blocked shots on the squad as well, finishing with a total of 130, narrowly beating out Omdahl’s 138. Odin Omdahl was Seattle’s second best man on the blueline this season in my opinion. He had 54 points compared to Marsh’s 56, but he also had 18 goals, the most of any defenseman. Omdahl also had a +16, showing he was responsible defensively. He was only a single blocked shot behind the team’s leader in that category, Leveque. He was also able to stay out of the box this season, only racking up 58 penalty minutes all year. Vin Calia was probably the most quiet forward on the team both figuratively and literally, as he is inactive. He produced 55 points, with 25 of those being goals, but he just didn’t seem to be much of a difference maker. Despite having few penalties, he was a -2. Calia didn’t seem to do a whole lot in big moments, having a mere 1 game winning goal all season, the lowest of any active player minus Phil. Stat-wise the Bears will probably have the best player on the ice in the upcoming wildcard series, and his name is Timothy Brown. A talented winger, Brown had 43 goals, 42 assists and 85 points this season, which is the most out of any player on either team. In contrast, Calgary’s best player Patrik Tallinder had 38 goals and 36 assists for 76 points. Brown finished the season with a plus/minus of +30, which is among the top 10 in the league. Timothy Brown was also able to rack up 238 hits on the season, making him a physical threat along with Randy Marsh and Jim Bob. Unlike the latter two, Brown didn’t rack up a ton of penalty minutes however. Seattle’s biggest physical presence is center Jim Bob. His 309 hits on the season are a good indication that any opposing team dreaded to step out onto the ice when facing his line. Bob was also no stranger to the penalty box, racking up 146 penalty minutes. If Timothy Brown wasn’t there to step up in a big game, Jim Bob often would be. He had 34 goals, 34 assists and 68 points on the season and ranked second on the Bear’s team scoring. Bob was a bit prone to undisciplined penalties, with 146 penalty minutes on the season. Simply put, Seattle’s goaltending was not that incredible for the third straight season in a row. Rara Rasputin had a pretty below average season, with a save percentage of 0.917 and a GAA of 2.84. Moving Jacob Tonn didn’t seem to have much of an impact, but the Bears are still hopeful that Rasputin can pan out for them. He’s only in his sophomore season and first season as starter, after all.

Hello, I liked your use of the hibiscus and the castle at the top of the star. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the beach background seems a little low quality. Could just be a filter you used or something, I'm not sure. I think it's very interesting that you made conference logos, very original idea. I wasn't sure what they were at first but I like them. 9/10

Very interesting to see a player from Antarctica, it would be strange to be born there. I always like reading your articles as you have excellent grammar and punctuation and you format them well. Your story-telling skills exceed mine for sure. My theme week media spot was all over the place. 10/10

The Seattle Bears didn’t get to go on an official vacation in S76 due to travel restrictions, but this however didn’t stop a few of the players from attempting to go to Las Vegas anyways. Namely the Bear’s biggest troublemakers both on and off the ice, Timothy Brown, Jim Bob, and of course Randy Marsh. The trio’s attempt to gather a group didn’t go smoothly at first. They tried to convince teammate Hex Rose, who was not willing to go along even though he was a Vegas alumni. Odin Omdahl also rejected them, stating that traveling at a time like this was a terrible idea. The gang managed to convince Jacob Tonn to go along with them even though he wasn’t on the squad anymore, however, and this was due to the fact that he had already paid to go months in advance. Tonn was in Seattle due to the game against Moscow taking place on the 14th of February, so the squad decided to head there on the night of February 13th. They flew on a plane, as they determined that driving from Seattle to Vegas was an 18 hour flight so it was out of the question. Once they arrived in the city, they checked into their hotel and lost track of Randy Marsh in the process. After waiting around in the lobby for a half an hour and seeing no sign of him they decided to head down to the casino. It was Randy’s loss after all. Once they arrived they determined that Jim Bob had to pay for the drinks because he had the largest contract, much to his annoyance. Timothy Brown decided to play blackjack in the casino, as they determined that it was his best chance of winning money. He made a bet of 750 thousand dollars, and the dealer dealt the cards. He dealt Timothy a 5 and a 6, and there was a 4 showing on his hand. Brown couldn't believe his opportunity, and he decided to double down and potentially double his winnings. The dealer dealt him the card… and it turned out to be a 2 of spades. The dealer flipped his own card and revealed a 10. Timothy Brown couldn’t believe his luck and he flipped over the table in response, before being dragged out by security. Jim Bob and Jacob Tonn sat in silence in the casino following the awkwardness of the previous event. They decided to cut their losses and leave before causing themselves any more embarrassment. Meanwhile outside the casino, Brown and Randy Marsh had been reunited. Marsh has been drinking and picked a fight with a group of random Las Vegas Aces players that were entering the casino. Brown attempted to back up his teammate, but it was 5 against 2 and it didn’t seem like they had much chance of winning. At the same moment Jim Bob and Jacob Tonn exited the casino and saw what was about to go down. Marsh saw his opportunity to strike now that he had backup, and he took a swing at the biggest Aces player. A brutal fight ensued, in which Randy Marsh would have certainly got a lengthy suspension if it was a hockey fight. Having won the fight and the police inbound, the gang ran down the street a few blocks and hailed a taxi to take them to the airport. A group decision was made that they had had enough of Vegas for one night, and they all returned home in time for the Valentine’s Day game.

Davos has had a rather rough start to the season and in fact they are last in the league, despite the fact that they are not supposed to be rebuilding. They have a pretty solid roster, but they have just not managed to win many games yet this season. Now that we’re narrowing towards the trade deadline, something has got to give for Davos or they could be in danger of missing the postseason yet again. Davos’ main issue this season appears to be their lack of scoring as they only have 100 goals so far. Depth scoring also seems to be a major issue. Davos has 100 goals, and their leading scorer SS Hornet has 45 points. He’s been involved in nearly half their goals this season. In this day and age 45 points is not a lot, so having a 45 point player as your driving force on offense is concerning. Goaltending also seems to me a major issue. Starter Joakim Bruden currently has a save percentage of 0.905 through 31 games, which is among the worst in the league for starters. Only Thadius Sales on the rebuilding Americans has been worse.

Hello, I always appreciate a Seattle themed graphic. Really like the shade of red that you chose for the uniform. I have a few criticisms with it however. The main one is the amount of blank space in the top right. I think if you put the text over the player you could've eliminated some of that. Another is that the background is pretty plain, maybe you could've added a gradient or something to it. Overall pretty nice graphic for not a lot of time to work on it. 8.5/10

Cowboy Prout took some lessons from Tortorella on how to deal with the media confirmed. I like that you added your own humor to the interview and actually made it enjoyable, unlike some interview articles. It has some spelling errors that I noticed, but that's a pretty minor criticism. All things considered, probably an accurate representation of the New York media. 9/10 article

I’ve always been sort of indifferent towards theme week, and it dates back to the first time I ever participated in it, way back in April of 2020. That particular theme week was the VHL’s way of getting input from the community on some recruitment ideas, which I didn’t think was the greatest idea for a theme. There are only so many different ways you can effectively recruit, and by Sunday when I do my point tasks most of the good ideas were already taken. After about 500 words of incoherent rambling and some other bullshit in my media spot, I was done. It wasn’t pretty, but I didn’t want to miss out on that uncapped TPE. I believe the biggest problem we currently have with theme week is lack of interest from the community. For every Gustav that writes an good article and actually seems engaged, there is a Ferk who just shows up for the TPE. One of the biggest gripes I see about theme week is that it restricts member’s creatively for that respective week. I however have no problem with that as I’m generally terrible at coming up with ideas for a point task, regardless if it’s a graphic or a media spot. However, if the theme is a bad one like my first experience was, it can be a chore. So the question arises, what should we do to fix theme week? Likely one of the most popular ideas for a theme week replacement is a system similar to the SBA’s all star week. It’s the same general idea as theme week as you receive a free doubles week once per season for doing a point task, with one exception; you aren’t restricted by what you can make your point task about. Any point task is accepted for a doubles week, as long as it meets the requirements set by the league, whether it’s 500 words on a media spot or a certain amount of effort for a graphic. There are some that feel that theme week is alright how it is currently run and I’m not 100% on board with it sometimes, but I’m someone with a severe lack of creativity. I appreciate having a set topic to write about sometimes as I’m not very good at coming up with topics to write about on my own. For example, I once wrote an article about how Jeffrey Pines should’ve gone first overall. Having someone else to tell me what to write about is sometimes a welcome sight, depending on the theme. I think we could come up with some sort of compromise between the two. Instead of having a theme week every season and running out of ideas, like what seems to be happening right now, we could have one every few seasons. In the place of the missing theme week every other season or so we could adopt a week similar to the SBA's all star week and hand out a doubles week for any kind of league point task. I think this sort of idea could make the theme week haters happy, the theme week loyalists happy, and anyone in between.

20. Predict your players offensive stats at the end of the 72 game regular season (VHL or M) I predict 95 points or so by the end of the season. 21. Who will be the Bears biggest player this up and coming season? I was our scoring leader last season, so I'll say Brown. 22. Predict who you think will be the league MVP? Mikko Lahtinen, he's a beast. 23. Which goalie will reign supreme and be goalie of the year? I'll say Ajay Krishna, he did well last year. 24. What team will make the finals from the EU? Why? Moscow, because they have the MVP. 25. What team will make the finals from the NA? Why? Calgary, because the NA is a mess and anything could happen at this point.
