  1. Very good read Gustav. The fact that you ending up coming out on top in 2 "dumb" trades at the time is pretty hilarious. It was also interesting to see that the picks you traded in S72, 4 and 9, turned out to be penny and twists. Bullet dodged there. As always your punctuation, grammar, story-telling and humor are top tier. I especially liked the memes at the end. 10/10 article my boi
  2. Pretty unique location for a hockey player to originate from, I think you're right in that we've ever seen a player from Iran. I read an article with no punctuation or grammar earlier, so it made me greater appreciate that you had both of those things in yours. Looks like Vancouver is continuing their trend of steal or bust in the draft. (You're a gem in case that wasn't clear). I'm going to 1 up the last 2 reviews and give you a 9.1/10
  3. 26. What are your thoughts on the team trading and getting @gregreg (Leo Strauss) back? It's a welcome addition. Hopefully he can help us win some games. 27. What are your thoughts on the Bears start so far? We're not in a playoff spot, so pretty sad start so far I'd say. 28. What can the Bears try to improve their play? Scoring more goals than the other team is an effective strategy. 29. Anything surprise you so far this season? The lack of scoring on our team. Our top player has 33 points which isn't even close to top 10. 32. Motzaburger has returned. Where was he that he had to return from? I think he forgot his passport in Canada, and got stuck in Mexico while he attempted to produce a form of ID. 33. THE ROCK JOHNSON is doing some WWE on the side. Who is his next opponent, who wins and how? He fights Evander Kane. The Rock distracts Kane by dropping a dollar, and then chokes him out and wins.
  4. Welcome to the league @TheCHEESE! I'm a_Ferk, the Assistant General Manager of the Saskatoon Wild. We're a team with a deep history in the league and we've had some recent success as well, with two Founder's Cups in the past seven seasons. After many seasons of competing, we're in a bit of a rebuild. It's unlikely we'll make playoffs, but you'll get some decent playing time with us. We are currently able to offer you a spot on our third line. If you feel that Saskatoon is the right place for you, simply quote this post and say, "#SaskyBois."

  6. Welcome back @joeg! I'm a_Ferk, the Assistant General Manager of the Saskatoon Wild. We're a team with a deep history in the league and we've had some recent success as well, with two Founder's Cups in the past seven seasons. After several seasons of competing, we're rebuilding and we'd love to have you play for our team. Most importantly, Saskatoon enjoys a well-earned reputation as a great place to start your VHL career. We are currently able to offer you a spot on our third defense pairing. You could move up the ranks depending on how active you are of course. If you feel that Saskatoon is the right place for you, simply quote this post and say, "#SaskyBois."

  9. If my math is correct I'm tied for 52nd in points, which is not good
  10. A season after finishing third in VHFL points for forwards, I've come to terms with the fact that my player is going to be ass this season unless something changes very soon. In 11 games, he’s currently at 5 goals and 6 assists, with 17 hits. Not exactly a world beater. The main problem with my player is obvious, he hasn’t been able to score or produce points at all. 11 points in 11 games is not going to cut it. The other issue is that I’m currently playing on a line with Jim Bob and he has a much higher checking stat than my player does. It has completely nerfed my hits from last season. I applied about 50 TPE to get my strength to 75 and my passing to 80, and I’m hoping the sim gods will reward me for it. If not, god have mercy on anyone who picks Timothy Brown in VHFL this season.
  11. I like throwback articles because it helps folks to learn about the VHL's history. The 20 in 20 and 40 in 40 articles in the VHL History section are amazing, I recommend them highly. I like the table at the top of the article and the use of colour. The only thing I noticed was the odd grammatical/spelling error, for example you called Toronto the Legions lol. Overall 9/10 article
  12. I like that you incorporated your absence from the league into your article, very creative idea. The pun in the title of your article is S tier, made me chuckle. The formatting of the article is nice, it's not one single entity, making it easy to read. Strangely enough, not a ton of articles in the VHL are written like actual reporter articles, so points for the creativity there as well. 10/10 article
  13. I think part of the idea for Team World and Team Mercenaries is that some of the middle to lower TPE Canadian and American players will still get to participate, as well as members from tiny nations with only 1 good player. Interesting idea though
  14. In what was probably one of the deepest drafts in the history of the VHL (at the time, anyway), S72 saw its fair share of later round gems. No S72 player shines quite as bright in the “steal” category as Moscow centre Pietro Angellini, however. Angellini is okifenoki’s player, a first gen that created near the end of March. This was not an ideal time to create, as my own player was created about a week before and I suffered TPE loss because of it. Selected in the fourth round, 47th overall, Angellini was the second last pick in the draft. With 557 TPE as of today, he is not just a depth piece but an active contributor for Moscow’s offense. He’s currently serving the team as an alternate captain to boot. Pietro Angellini is not the only player from the fourth round of that draft that remains active. King, Bacon, Andreshnikov, Anigbogu, and Friedriksen are all currently active players in this league by the VHLM’s activity standards (though being active in the community is another matter). Out of those listed, only Anigbogu has managed to pass 400 TPE thus far, with 531. Anigbogu is ngine4’s player and an experienced sim leaguer, and even he is trailing Angellini in TPE. This creates the question, how did a first gen in the fourth round find so much success? If we go back to the time period that Angellini was drafted in the VHL he had a total of 63 TPE, which was the second lowest in the entire draft. Ernie King was the only one trailing behind him with 62. Pietro started his VHLM career with Mexico City, and he did not seem very interested at first glance. Between the week ending March 29th and Week ending May 17th, Angellini had earned a mere 6 capped TPE. However, even though he didn’t earn a lot of capped TPE at the time, he didn’t miss a single week of updating in that time span. It’s quite possible that he simply didn’t know how to do PTs or welfare, because the week Angellini was drafted in both the VHLM and the VHL he submitted his first ever welfare claim. From there he took off, earning 8 capped TPE and doing his Junior Review the following week. I suspect that being drafted to Moscow had much to do with his development, because as far as I know okifenoki is a forum-only guy. I’ve also been told that Moscow has a pretty active forum locker room. I think those two factors may have some correlation. Pietro Angellini is currently ranked 19th in TPE in the S72 draft class, and he is trending upwards, having passed Moscow teammate Jay Jones since the last Victory Hockey Central Scouting ranking. In a redraft this would put him in the mid second round, which is pretty crazy to think about. In a draft that saw Moscow draft Alex Letang, Lucas Brandt, Cole Newhook and Keith Krestanovich, he currently ranks second in TPE behind Alex Letang. @okifenoki I'd like to hear your story if possible haha. There's only so much the portal is able to tell you
