Can anyone explain (or link to the explanation) of the EFL's recent cap change? I'm new there, but my understanding is that for the longest time they had a reduced "welfare" system (welfare defined as someone who doesn't have a job, like the classical definition haha) but now have removed that barrier so any member can reach the same cap as the "working" people. It's kind of apples and oranges to our definition, but they had this two-tiered hierarchy of members and that's kinda what J's proposing.

What if we put limits on welfare? You only get your welfare every second week. In the odd weeks, you gotta work or eat ramen noodles again. In the pay weeks, if you don't press the button, you're shit outta luck. It'll really make a clear gap between the active players and The Clickers. If we can't make the active players rise to the top, you can put a bit of weight on The Clickers to drag them down.

FINALLY IT HAPPENED!

Damn that's cool. I love the idea. I like the flexibility it gives you to give the players in the boom years somewhere to go and games to play, while not upsetting the league and having to undo decisions in the bust years. I really like the idea of "activating" the juniors when we meet a certain threshold. This is better than the practice squad idea because these players actually get to play games, check their stats, and see some (probably really good) results. If the goal is to have this as a full-time functioning league, maybe up the M cap to 300 or 350 so that draft picks stay just that little bit longer in the M, creating a little backlog of players who can play in junior. Love it, good creative thinking to a tricky problem that kinda came out of nowhere. Commish Acyd making his MARK on this league!

1. What is your favorite sports besides hockey? It's a lot of work to follow sports, so I do hyper specialize in hockey. I like baseball too, but again, the MLB is huge. I mostly just follow the Blue Jays and the AL East. 2. What is your favorite place to vacation? I'm all about taking a left turn when everyone else turns right and exploring off the beaten path. Hiking the Bruce Trail in Bruce Peninsula National Park is a yearly favourite, but the coolest vacay I've taken has to be to the tiny Caribbean island of San Andres, Colombia. 3. What is your favorite TV Show? It's gotta be Letterkenny. I know, I'm a walking stereotype, but that show hits scarily close to home. 4. What is your favorite movie? The glory age of SNL spawned so many unreal films. Wayne's World, Tommy Boy, the Sandler collection. Love em all. 5. What teammate or player in the league will you see in the offseason the most? Me and X gotta keep building that chemistry in the offseason. In a season or two, we'll be Sedin-like, just totally on the same wavelength, finishing each other's... 6. What part of next season are you looking forward to the most? Winning the cup. Definitely the best part of S75.
