Going live in a few minutes if anyone wants to come hang out on stream.

You haven’t paid attention to how the MVP vote has gone down the last 10ish seasons have you? Most times doing well on an iffy team is the exact definition. Arguably right now (without looking too hard at stats) I would say DeGrath. New York should not be playing the way they are and he’s definitely a major factor in that.
-
Well that would have saved me opening photoshop and is something I definitely did not know about. Edit: Does add a border around the image mind you, that part looks iffy.

Not sure when I’ll be able to record this, maybe Friday morning. What I do know is I could use some questions. @der meister @Phil @tfong @Banackock @gorlab @JardyB10 @evrydayimbyfuglien @Jericho @DollarAndADream @Kendrick @Smarch @Beaviss @Devise @Shaka

No need to antagonize him. He was one of the ones pushing for it and (I think) the first one to bring up Wylde. Point is it got done, that’s the important thing.

Definitely did not shrink that logo as much as I thought I did; oh well. Wanted to have a bit of fun with this change. Point is, we've made the change. Seemed best to do it before the award was given out. I've updated the OP. Congrats @STZ on yet another accomplishment. Thanks everyone who pointed out how ridiculous our choice was. we may not have had the proper time to discuss it originally but we did this time and that's because you pushed us o make a change that is better for the league.

Correction Reports coming from VHL Headquarters today are indicating a breach in protocol regarding the recent announcement of new award names. It would appear that someone changed the content of the PR team's announcement prior to the announcement being made; resulting in the wrong name being applied to the Top Defensive Defenseman award. The award was thusly, and inaccurately, named the Jack Sound award. It is unclear at this time who made the change but it is believed to be a relative of Mr. Sound trying to continue his family member's legacy. In light of this the league would like to officially announce the proper name for the award: The Jake Wylde Award. The league would like to apologize to Mr. Wylde and the fans for the confusion regarding this name. Both Mr. Wylde's statistics and agency better reflect the purpose of the award and the league would like to officially congratulate him on receiving this honour.

@DollarAndADream I think you forgot to show up for the third.
-
We almost threw it away in a third but I’ll take the SO win.
-
We looked into embedding discord but everything we could find claimed that Discord no longer supports that.
-
On the user end here won’t be any difference at all visually, aside from having chat back. We aren’t changing the way the board functions or anything, just the server that hosts it.
-
Winning streak was bound to end at some point.

We’re back in CoD WW2 (big surprise there) with an early morning CoDCast. Getting some camo progress done and answering questions from @Kendrick, @der meister, @Beaviss, and @DollarAndADream

Something needed to be announced since this was changed basically half a season ago. Unfortunately the name is probably not ideal but it wasn’t discussed enough. Every few seasons we discuss changing names so it’ll come up in those discussions as well. You had posts in that discussion topic, you simply stopped posting once the names were suggested...
-
If you’re claiming this isn’t about you then don’t make it about you. Even when we do something you want you’ll still always find something to complain about so whatever, I’ve said my piece.

I’m not seeing them as attacks. Honestly it felt more like you trying to goat proof out of me that even with a ban you could have an award one day, maybe I was reading it wrong. To be honest the name itself wasn’t discussed a ton. We weren’t planning on putting these in this season but someone brought it up and it made sense so we decided to go ahead with them. That meant the names weren’t discussed much. Sound was put forth and an option and no one was opposed to it so it made sense. Chances are had we taken time to fully evaluate all stats and members we could have found other deserving members but I wouldn’t say Edgar or Sound are completely undeserving.
-
I’m not saying as any other member, there are definitely some that did more. I’m saying that the combination of individual stats (the main factor) plus his activity did it. Someone who’s a complete pest, even if they have good numbers, won’t get an award just as a great member with bad stats won’t get an award. Edgar had comments of controversy but was ultimately a good member and Sound had good numbers. You seem to be trying to make it about one though or trying to make every person with an award name on an even field and that’s not the case.
-
Some of column A, some of column B. We aren’t going to name an award for a member when they don’t have any players that ft the award just because they were a good member. At the same time good stats but shit personality isn’t likely to be an immediate choice either. Its a balance.

Thank you. I knew there was an error somewhere in there but just couldn’t bloody find it for some reason.

Just wanted to clarify that reviews are in fact capped. Fantasy is one of the few things that isn’t which can be done on a weekly basis.

S59 Official Award Changes Anyone who has already completed their predictions (as I hope you all have) already noticed this change but it seems best to officially announce it in case people didn't see. As of this season our awards will be changing slightly. The Grimm Jonsson Trophy and Mikka Virkkunen Trophy; for Top Leader and Most Sportsmanlike respectively, have been officially retired and will no longer be awarded. The voting simply came down to criteria that the BOG felt didn't suited the league anymore and in recent seasons the awards had become almost jokes. In their place I would like to announce our two new awards as well as one award criteria change. __________ Jake Wylde Trophy Top Defensive Defenseman In his time with the VHL Jake Wylde was one of the top defensive players we have ever had with significant totals in Shots Blocked, Hits, and +/- status in addition to receiving the former Labatte trophy twice during his career. For that reason his name shall now be associated with the top defensive defenseman award. Sterling Labatte Trophy Top Offensive Defenseman The Labatte trophy name shall remain as it always has. However with the caveat that it is now awarded as the top offensive defenseman, instead of simply the top defenseman. We believe that D-men should be rewarded more for their work regardless of how they choose to play so no longer shall the debates be based on offensive vs. defensive numbers. Greg Clegane Trophy Lowest GAA with a minimum of 20 GP Among his many VHL records Greg Clegane holds the lowest GAA of any goalie over the course of a full career which makes him the perfect candidate to receive this award in his name. While GAA may seem like a team statistic it is one that cannot be earned without a solid goalie in net and we wanted to reward that goalie with another award that can only be won by them. __________ So that's it. Congratulations to all the former winners of the Jonsson and Virkkunen awards, your accomplishments will remain in the hall of fame where they belong; however the awards are officially retired. We hope moving forward these new awards can have the names of many top players applied to them.

I believe we're now in second because this is a little out of date. In any case, I believe that we had a bit of a rough patch to start the season but we're definitely finding our own. It likely boils down to jut not having the line and strategy chemistry that was needed with a lot of old faces gone and a lot of new faces joining the team. However, I think the league parity in general this season is very strong and we simply assumed that we would get some easy wins against teams that are definitely holding their own. It's okay to think you're going to win but it's dangerous to think you can't lose. We've won our last 6 games and we're within a point of 1st place so things are definitely turning around. They are definitely surprising a lot of people. I've been predicting for the past 2 seasons that NY was pushing to compete hard but I was expecting it to come next season not this season so that was a bit of a surprise. I do think they are going to slow down and be over-taken by Toronto but I've definitely been surprised before so it's an interesting story to look at either way. Oh boy is that never not the case anymore as I have now plummeted down to 6th in team scoring and almost dropped lower than 1 PPG. I think the fact that I was leading the team was more surprising simply because of lack of ability to keep anything going. As you well know, as well as anyone else that has paid attention, I somehow suffer from the "Sokolov Slump" every season. Wherein I start off very hot and then immediately turn ice cold for no reason as far as I can tell. For some reason I just can't score right now. I am glad to see my teammates picking up the slack and I'll certainly take wins over points but it's frustrating. Especially after moving to forward and changing my training regiment so much; I was really hoping it would break this curse I seemingly have and that doesn't seem to be the case.

1. What do you think the league as a whole could do to help recruitment efforts? 2. Some people claim our issue is not recruitment but retention. Do you agree, disagree, or think there is a balance?
