RUMOR: Helsinki and Seattle Fist Deep in Trade Talks
Beketov replied to Eklund's topic in VHL.com Articles
Put yourself on the bench for a season and I'll show NY a good time instead Seriously though, I just want to compete next season, I don't care where I am. -
Curses gotta start somewhere
-
3-0 Curse. We bringing this all the way back!
-
I'm really not. I'm pointing out easily recognizable facts and you're making bold faced claims with no proof. FACT: I faced more shots than you while playing 20 fewer games. FACT: Our S% were more or less the same, in fact I beat you. FACT: S48 Davos Scored 146 Goals. S53 Helsinki scored 226. Don't think your team carried you, really? Our rookie seasons have comparable numbers in the grand scheme of things but your team carried you and my team was rebuilding. So yeah, if Moon had been on S48 Davos he easily would have done worse, there's no real way to deny it. You're letting a solid team in front of you go to your head. The fact is, you played like shit, both in the regular season and the playoffs. The only reason you got as far as you did is because the team in front of you managed to score enough that your fuck-ups didn't matter. I'll gladly eat my words if your career numbers are better than mine (factoring in the likely 6 seasons less you will play) but that's not going to happen.
-
Crunched? You faced fewer shots, playing basically 1/3rd more games. And yeah, rebuilding vs. competiting does make a hell of a difference; if you think it doesn't you're more insane than I thought. Your team had a goal differential of 67 and mine had a goal differential of -87. Given that our save percentages are basically the same (as you lovingly pointed out) that means your team carried you FAR more than mine did. Put Moon on S48 Davos and he has possibly the worst stats any goal has ever seen.
-
Taking numbers out of context proves absolutely nothing. You were on a strong team in your rookie season while I was on a rebuilding team AND STILL beat you in S%. I also faced more shots than you while playing 20 games fewer and still had comparable stats. So yeah, your numbers prove nothing. Also, fun fact, this is the lowest S% of any starter in the playoffs since S30. Just let that sink in for a minute.
-
We'll see, so far I really don't see how that's even going to remotely happen. BTW, yours is the worst GAA in the playoffs since S45 (just barely) and I haven't found a worse S% yet but don't worry, I'll keep looking. Oh, just found this Gem, in S44 Jax Barnstormer had a better playoff S% then you. So yeah, to your point from the other day, Helsinki might have been better off with Barnstormer.
-
Joke I call a goalie? At my worst in the regular season I still outplayed you and in the playoffs you feel on your face even more. I'll admit I played bad the first three games of the series (3 was kinda close but I still wasn't great) but I've let in only 3 goals in the last 3 games and did so against a more offensive team. Meanwhile you let in 13 in your last 3 games and 27 on the series vs. 14 for me. So tell me again how I'm trash and Stockholm just got lucky? You're team outplayed Stockholm in several regards except for 1 key one: you. Hell you got pulled so much that in 2 fewer games Power played over a period more minutes than you.
-
Loses the entire series for his team by playing worse than a CPU: claims the team that wrecked him sucks anyway. Ah, the DT life.
-
Moon finishes the playoffs with an abysmal 0.865 S% and just shy of 4 goals allowed per game. The forwards really tried to keep this close but hard to win like that.
-
We wait all this time to get a 404 error! Come on! The suspense is too much. Edit: Checked it in the schedule, don't know who scored but Bears win 4-1! The reverse sweep is possible boys, we're bringing this back!

Request: Pajodcast Youtube Channel Art/Logo
Beketov replied to Devise's topic in Graphics, Designs, & Writing
Just curious, should we maybe brand this for the VHL in general? Maybe shared login and have all the podcasts centralized to one location. The CoDCast already goes to YouTube so it wouldn't be hard for me to just put it on a different account. Could probably convert stuff like the see podcast to have a video. Just a thought. If we want to use YT as a way of advertising with our podcasts it makes sense to use it for more than 1. -
VHL Pick Em' (S53 Playoffs - First Round)
Beketov replied to Da Trifecta's topic in VHL Fantasy Zone
Pretty sure the people who said Yes Yes (not that I did) should get the points here. Considering what teams were up 3-1 for game 6 to happen (as predicted) only Seattle and Helsinki could have won. Since they predicted game 6 in both series they, thusly, also Predicted Seattle and Helsinki. -
Adding 40 points to passing and not touching anything else isn't automatically going to make you an assist machine. With no points in puck handling, skating, or defence you are likely not holding the puck long enough to get anything done.
-
I'll take that game winner, GG boys. The comeback is real.
-
100%. Anything from 30 minutes to 1 hour I usually love. Anything less seems too easy to be really good and anything more I'm starting to second guess everything above done but don't want to have lost the hour.

10/10 Best Mock
-
Depends how much I'm struggling to get it to look how I want. Can be anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours in my experience; usually the shorter ones I don't like as much though.
-
Taking this one game at a time and hoping STHS has a slider for momentum. Good win guys.

Claimed: Beketov’s Official Season 54 Mock Draft
Beketov replied to Beketov's topic in Archived Media Spots
You seem to really enjoy trash talking without the ability to take it or the skills to prove us wrong. Straight fact is that even TOR G had similar stats to you and I demolished you in every category. So try getting on my level before you talk shit. As for this, I'm just having some fun. If you're so confident in yourself than I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. -
Claimed: Beketov’s Official Season 54 Mock Draft
Beketov replied to Beketov's topic in Archived Media Spots
@Higgins Gimme that bonus TPE, I’d hate to have bloody written something for nothing. -
What in the World is this, a Media Spot written in place of the CoDCast? Well there’s bonus TPE on the line and I can’t play CoD while trying to look up all this information. So, in lieu of a CoDCast, you all get to read my terrible writing instead! Beketov’s Official Season 54 Mock Draft First Overall: Torstein Ironside @DollarAndADream Toronto Needs a lot of pieces in order to be competitive; not the least of which is a goalie. While TOR G tried to hold down the fort he ultimately won’t be able to do so very long. Markus King would be the obvious choice for a franchise goalie but GM’s don’t like to take risks on their goalies so I expect DaaD will go with an agency he can trust: his own. This should solidify the Legion in net for the foreseeable future and start their rebuild off on the right foot. Second Overall: Fook Yu @tfong You don’t ignore a tfong agency player when you have a shot at him; especially if you’re a team like Davos that already has a goalie solidified and doesn’t need to take a player with higher TPE. Fook Yu is the best forward available in the draft, simple as that. Davos needs some help up front and he seems like the most logical person to give them that extra push. Third Overall: Markus King @Kendrick Kendrick has the highest TPE of any draftee in the S54 class and a respectable list of past players to his name. He’ll always provide top notch players and just the right amount of TPE whoring; there’s no better choice. One could argue that Helsinki already has a starting goalie in Astrid Moon and that is true; however I don’t see that relationship lasting. If Helsinki wants to compete they are going to want to pickup a better goalie. I see them either trading Moon for one or simply going with King right off the bat. He’s younger and will undoubtedly pass Moon in TPE; without the worry of early retirement. It may seem like an odd choice but I don’t see Helsinki passing it up. Fourth Overall: Shawn Gretzky @TheLastOlympian07 Muller proved that Olympian may be part of the old guard but he still knows how to make strong players: Gretzky is no exception to that. He has a strong base of TPE for a draftee and a very trusted agency backing his name. Riga needs a lot of help to become contenders again and in the VHL that means starting from the forwards. Gretzky should fit in nicely as a top line centre moving forward with the organization and a nice piece to build a team around. Fifth Overall: Hudson Abbott @Bushito The agency behind Hudson Abbott has somewhat of a shaky history with the VHL but, then again, so does Quebec. He may not be the top TPE earning defensemen right now but Abbott’s work ethic is second to none if you can keep his focus. Quebec will want to solidify on the blue-line through the draft and will pick up Abbott in order to do that. Sixth Overall: Aleksei Federov @Banackock Federov’s agency has some rocky history with a few members of the Vikings but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s a strong defensive presence and would be an asset to any potential draft location. The Vikings offence is strong but their defence is losing some core members to retirement so Federov could be a perfect fit as a second line defenseman and future star for the team. In most other drafts I would expect him to go earlier but there are a few good options on the board so Federov drops a bit. Seventh Overall: Takashi Fujimoto @HFD The HFD agency is new to the VHL but it has slowly been proving itself with Fujimoto. With their potential goalie troubles sorted out I see Helsinki continuing to bolster their forwards and bringing in a strong first-gen winger could help them out. It’s a bit of a gamble and not the highest TPE player available to them but the gamble could pay off big time. With veterens in the locker room to guide him HFD could become a particularly strong member and a great steal at 7th. Eighth Overall: Rudolph Schmeckeldorf @Corco Another returning agency going to Quebec? Didn’t intend to do that but can’t see Quebec passing up Schmeckeldorf if he’s still on the board. They got a defensive boost already in the draft and are set in net with Skye so there’s no reason to not go offensive with this pick and grab a great member in the process. When Corco is active he’s a great member to have and so far everything points to great activity from him this time around. Ninth Overall: Vernon Von Axelberry @BobertZ Chances are NY will trade away this pick honestly, they don’t need much from the draft at this point. However assuming they keep it, and assuming he can’t draft his own player, I would expect Devise to pick up Axelberry here since he’s still available and trade him off to another team. Devise doesn’t tend to care about building from the net out so that would likely be the plan at least. I also can’t see Robbie being too interested in having a backup job. Either way, Axelberry’s a solid choice and potentially good trade fodder. Tenth Overall: Verner Reinholdt @Devise For Devise to fall to the last spot in the first round is frankly amazing but that’s where I’m predicting him and that’s where Calgary can get a great steal of a player. Calgary is still in rebuild phase but they could break out soon and getting Devise would certainly help the cause. *For Holik
-
And all I hear is you typing up your retirement post. Moon will be retired before Holik and with less than half the wins. I've taken shits that have lasted longer than your player careers. Go back to the hole you crawled out of and leave the playing to the real goalies.
-
You had the exact same S% and only 1 SO more. Also he's a FUCKING CPU. You're supposed to do significantly better than him; not barely squeak out a better GAA and call it a day.
-
I don't deny it. Fact is though, so would yours. Your stats were comparable to TOR G and he had no team in front of him. Both teams still would have made it. Difference is that I led my team to a Victory Cup and you did about as well as a CPU goalie. So how about you learn your place now and sit the fuck down. Try doing it in the net, maybe a few pucks might hit you.
