[BREAKING] Fong exercises Rule 12.2a from VHL Rule Book
Beketov replied to Gudnason's topic in VHL.com Articles
Hey, it's your funeral. -
Since MWR was being a little bitch this morning we're back in IW for another CoDCast. Luckily I manage to level up so I play some with a shotgun instead of a sniper this time! While doing so I answer some questions from @punkhippie, @Jericho, and @Devise *For Sokolov

[BREAKING] Fong exercises Rule 12.2a from VHL Rule Book
Beketov replied to Gudnason's topic in VHL.com Articles
Fair enough, at least you have realistic expectations. just a suggestion though, pumping all your points to get reaction time up to 80 before touching literally anything else from 35 is a terrible idea. While I personally like it the most of the goalie attributes it certainly isn't the only one. Goalies need balance or they'll be next to worthless. For example, right now you may react quickly but your agility and hand speed are 35 so you'll react as far as seeing the puck by you don't have the speed to stop it. If you do stop it you have no rebound control so t will give up a big juicy rebound. Do you see what I'm getting at? -
It's tricky sometimes but I do my best haha
-
Probably because flash is a massive security risk to pretty much anything that uses it so companies are (rightfully) destroying it with fire.
-
Holik to Helsinki for sure.
-
Sorry it’s still processing, should be done soon. In this episode we play terribly in IW while trying to get camos on sniper rifles and answer questions from @punkhippie, @Smarch, and @tfong. *For Holik
-
If somehow that happens I'll likely be retiring anyway (why waste an entire year doing nothing but getting depreciated) so whatever my attributes are at is a moot point anyway.

Just so you know I'm grabbing my min contract from next season (4.5mill) as allowed by Will HERE given the circumstances of this off-season Player Name: Jakab Holik VHL Team: Seattle Bears (sorta) Cash you have: $13,250,000 Purchase Name: Old but not forgotten Cost of Purchase: $10mill Cash Left: $3,250,000
-
Didn't catch that part, though I'll probably just do the latter so you don't need to depreciate me twice. I only need 1.25 and my minimum is 4.5 so I can't NOT have enough.
-
Well this kinda screws me. I was saving for the "Old but not forgotten" but needed my contract money from this season to get the last 1.25 mill to get there. Since I'm a FA and don't have a contract yet I can't go into my money from next season to get it which means I can either buy the Jagr (which I don't like as much) or get fucked in the ass by depreciation. That 1% equals out to a difference of 68 TPE. Even if I buy the Jagr and protect 1 with the new scale it's still a 39 TPE difference. Might I formally petition for what is effectively a loan under these circumstances? I'll count whatever the minimum I can take next season is (4.5 I believe) and add it onto whatever I already have saved. If I get paid more than that then so be it, I'll add the remainder in next season, but I obviously can't be paid less. It doesn't exactly seem fair that I get doubled fucked by the update changes purely because I'm a FA.

As of this morning VHL.com can officially confirm that contract talks between veteran goalie Jakab Holik and the Seattle Bears broke down over the weekend, leading the Beketov agency to announce that their Client Holik will be testing the free agent market for the first time in his career. Many were suspecting this very thing occurring after the Bears once again failed to make the continental cup finals and are likely looking to rebuild. With Holik being the oldest goalie in the league it's no surprise that he isn't looking to spend his last few years in a rebuild. However with many young goalies sitting in starting spots already it could be a tough sell for the aging Holik. When reached for comment the goalie had this to say, "I recognize that there may not be any teams out there that want me; honestly I haven't even fully ruled re-signing out as an option. The fact of the matter is though I'm not getting any younger and if the Bears are going to be rebuilding then I will not be able to compete on that team. I wanted to win it all with the Bears and we did everything we could but somehow it just never worked out. If another team in the league is going to give me that shot then I owe it to myself to take it. Unfortunately I also recognize that might not happen and there might just be no home for me; I guess that's the way hockey goes sometimes. We'll see how things turn out but for right now I'm interested in seeing what the future holds for me." The Bears were unavailable to comment at this time. Though Holik does say that he's willing to negotiate a contract with them if a good enough offer comes along, it is unlikely the Bears will be able to compete in Season 54 unless Free Agency goes heavily in their favour which has not been the case in past seasons. VHL.com will update you as things transpire. For now, it will be interesting to see what jersey Holik is wearing come next season. *For Holik

I'm not going to get into a political debate, this isn't the place for that, but as someone from the maritimes I'm glad to finally see a prime minister who recognizes that the country doesn't end at Quebec. So yes, I voted Trudeau and I'm still glad I did.
-
Supporting a Trudeau and supporting Trump cannot even be compared. The PM has a clue as to what he's trying to do. The president is blindly stumbling through life trying to get as many tax breaks for his friends as he can.

Some fun Facts about Moon's Playoff Performance
Beketov replied to Beketov's topic in VHL.com Articles
Uh oh, I hurt DT's feelings with facts and he's pulling out the swear words, I'm worried now. -
You act as if I'm losing sleep over this troll. I've just been enjoying racking up my post count arguing with him.
-
For that matter I "couldn't win game 7" but Moon couldn't even win game 6. Just as a comparison, because numbers are fun. VS. NY (280 Regular season goals) I let in 17 goals and was pulled 0/7 games. VS. STO (245 Regular Season Goals) Moon let in 24 and was pulled 3/6 games. So with 1 extra GP I let in 7 goals less and was never pulled.
-
You've probably seen Astrid Moon Running his (her's? theirs? idk) mouth over the course of the playoffs; saying how amazing his (I'll go with that) stats are and how everyone else is trash and how Helsinki would be nothing without him. These claims without context or proof have been entertaining to argue with but I wanted to deal a little more in facts. So, I did some digging. We have playoff indexes dating from S19-present so I couldn't dig any older than that but within these seasons I found the following information. These numbers are all based on VHL playoff starters, not accounting for backups (though sometimes they did do better). Moon's playoff GAA of 3.97 is the worst since S45 and the 8th worst all time. Mind you one of the 7 that are worse than him was QUE G in S32 so, yeah, 7th worst among actual people. Moon's Playoff Save % of .865 is the worst since S30 and is the 2nd worst all time. Only Satan's .851 in S30 rated worse. Of the players above, Moon is the only one to get carried into the second round, all others lost in the first round, proving his team did the work, not him. Notice how I said QUE G was starting in S32 but Moon's S% was the lowest since S30? Yeah, that's because QUE G had a higher S% at .900. Not @ThePenultimateOlympian06 level statistic gathering, I don't have a spread sheet, but I found it fun to find the historical context. It's not everyday that a goalie sets 2 bottom 10 records in the same playoffs. *For neither player, this was just for fun

RUMOR: Helsinki and Seattle Fist Deep in Trade Talks
Beketov replied to Eklund's topic in VHL.com Articles
Wait so this is you playing well? Good god, you get worse? I was really wondering if that were even possible. -
Helsinki would be in the finals if they had literally anyone else. TOR G had similar regular season stats, I'd probably trust him over Moon.
