  1. Speaking personally as an AGM I agree with you but definitely understand why it happens for most as it does now. I generally like to throw in a couple fun questions, maybe some thoughts before I start the Presser but ultimately it comes down to time for me. You can tell when I really didn't have time and it is more basic and to the point. I also think it would be a benefit to get feedback from your team. Some people like that it's to the point, some want to add stuff or have their own ideas. It all depends.
  2. Finals Presser...Week ending Sept. 13 2020 1. Do you believe defense or offense wins championship? Why? King: “I think it needs to be a complete team effort. It’s tough to balance but champions understand defending a lead is just as important as scoring goals.” 2. Which forward has been your playoff MVP to date? King: “Thornton. Luke Thornton has been amazing all postseason and deserves the recognition for his amazing work on and off the ice for us. He leads by example.” 3. Which Defender has been your playoff MVP to date? King: “Easily Socks. He’s one of the top defensemen in the league and is easily one of the top prospects in the league.” 4. Regardless of whether Miami wins the cup, is this season a success? Why or why not? King: “For me personally it’s cup or bust. We’ve come so far that it’d be tough to go out on such a low note now. We’ve had a lot of great success this season and individually we’ve had a lot fo success but this team was built to win a championship and overcome opponents like Minnesota in our second season.” 5. Are you excited to be moving on up to the VHL after this season? What chances does your vhl team have of making the playoffs? King: “I’m not too focused on next season as of now. That said, I think we got a great group in Vancouver and I’m excited to join them next season, whether that’s on the wing or possible in the middle on the top 9. It’s an excited prospect but right now I’m focused on winning a championship here in Miami.” 6. What is one thing you enjoyed about your time in Miami? King: “I appreciated the lockeroom and the leadership that Lamb, Laine, Ricer, Al, and so many others brought this season. We had a lot to offer each other and grew as a team and I’m honored to have been apart of this roster.”
  3. Kevin King is on the final stretch of his VHLM career and is on his way to starting his VHL career with Vancouver. King will hope to get his team to crawl back from being 3-1 down to Minnesota on this final leg of the Founder’s Cup. King had this to say following two tough losses to Minnesota: “It’s frustrating ya know. I’ve done a lot of good things this postseason but ultimately it means very little if we can’t crawl back now against a good club in Minny. They know how to play; this isn’t Miami’s first dogfight with these guys and we just need to put together 60 solid minutes of hockey in game 5 to get a shot. We start there and then when game 6 rolls in we do it again.” King had some strong words about his team’s performance but pointed out that they’ve been through worse and that this series isn’t over yet. We’ll see what happens tomorrow when Minnesota clashes with Miami in game 5 of the Founder’s Cup Finals.
  4. Will Claim for 3/3 for week of September 14th - 20th
  5. Will Claim for 2/3 for week of September 7th - 13th
  6. San Diego Press Conference: September 7, 2020 – September 13, 2020 I know we're all feeling a bit bummed about the Conference Finals but everyone did an amazing job. We had a great season and I'm proud to have been able to be your AGM for the last half of the season and can't wait to be apart of this team's build towards the future. For all our guys going up to the VHL next season congratulations and knock em dead up there. For those staying in the M but going into the s74 Draft we thank you for your waiver service and hope to see you back in a Marlins' uniform next season but wish you the best no matter what. Now that the teary-eyed speech is out of the way, let's get down to some questions: 1. We gave it a hell of a run but our season has ended. How do you feel about our season as a whole? 2. Who is your pick for our playoff MVP? 3. What are your aspirations for next season? 4. Now for some lighter stuff; Cats or Dogs? Defend your answer. 5. Now that Vegas got a new shiny logo, what changes would you like to see for the Marlins’ crest in the future? I’m gonna start playing D&D with some friends soon and I’m actually kind of excited about it. So in the spirit of that the last question is related to D&D. If you play or have played answer 6A, if you haven’t or won’t answer 6B. 6A. Tell me about your D&D character(s). 6B. If you don’t play D&D, do you have a reason why?
  7. PLAYOFF PRESSER! 1. The Miami Marauders have just finished sweeping the Philadelphia Reapers. What was the key to finishing that series so quickly? King: “We had a really great series. We played our game in all three zones and especially shutting them down in the neutral zone. Bacon was a stud in goal. Can’t say enough about how well he’s played especially against one of the best this season on the other side. It was a goalie duel at times and Bacon was a brick wall. It was a complete series.” 2. The Miami Marauders have entered the second round of the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. How are you and the team celebrating this historic run? King: “I think we just gotta stay focused. We’re getting a tough matchup in San Diego or Vegas, and those are two teams that know how to play deep. We can’t let this time off make us content to the process. We’re one step closer but there’s still plenty of hockey left in the year.” 3. Who are you expecting to step up and take their game to a higher gear in Round 2? King: “Gotta start with me. I’ve got a nice pace going here with a solid 4 in 4 but I gotta take that to the next level in round two. Regardless of opponent we’ll be playing tougher top lines in round two and whether it’s Merrick, Waters, or Angellini, I’ll be taking draws against some high-level competitors.” 4. The scoreboard-watching is over - we're facing off with the San Diego Marlins. What's your scouting report on them? King: “Well I think Vegas still has a shot unless I missed where Game 6 was posted. Either way, if we do play San Diego in round 2 they’re a great club that obviously I have attachment to as the AGM. I’ll be excited to get San Diego to a championship in the future but right now I want to win as a player.” 5. Do you have any playoff superstitions? King: “Nothing that is different than the regular season.” 6. Playoff beards: y/n? King: “Always.”
  8. San Diego Final Regular Season Press Conference: August 31, 2020 – September 6, 2020 First of all, what an amazing series versus Ottawa. You guys/gals absolutely killed it! 1. With Ottawa down, we’ll either get Miami or Houston in the second round (if Vegas can complete a comeback versus Minnesota). What’s the key to not only hanging in with Miami, but beating them in a series? 2. Personally, I think we have the grit to beat Houston, what would you say the key would be to beating Houston? 3. What were some of the words exchanged in the handshake line between yourself and a member of the Lynx that you could share with the group? 4. Looking ahead to the offseason for a moment, what is one thing you’d like to do this offseason in the VHL that would be engaging with the community? 5. Who among your San Diego teammates are you most interested in following as they make their transition to the VHL next season? 6. What are your favorite hockey-based shows/films? If you haven’t seen a single hockey show/film, what are you doing with your life instead you heathen? BONUS: FEEL FREE NOT TO ANSWER IF YOU’RE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH IT: At the risk of making things a bit political, with all the unrest in the world right now, hockey has stood with many other sports in support of ending systemic racism. Approaching the subject on a more sports-orientated road, what would be one thing you’d like to see changed to help further diversify the game of hockey and encourage Black athletes to pursue a career on the ice?
  9. It’s a bittersweet playoff in the camp for Kevin King. It’s a year and a half journey from being a walk on free agent for the Las Vegas Aces and now, with the Miami Marauders going on to the second round of the season 73 playoffs. But for King season 73 brought with it some baggage. He started off just off pace with 3 points in his first 5 games before going on to set himself on fire with linemates Luke Thornton and Patrik Laine, recording 6 goals over a five-game stretch, including 4 game winners in that first 10 stretch. We covered in other articles how deep King fell into a hole after that though. As he once again struggled, going long stretches without points, and moving from Wing to Center and back again until his permanent move to the middle towards the end of the regular season. It was in those last 10 games, much like the first that King found his stride again, recording 9 of his 38 points on the season in the last 8 games of the season. It’s a stride that so far has taken him through the first round of the playoffs as he drew up 3 goals of his 4 points in his series with Philadelphia. Including the Game 1 winner. What to make of this season is the question? If you ask King, he’s likely disappointed with the effort, but that’s not a complete story of his progress. Cracking 100 hits (101 to be exact), King was more physical towards the latter half of the season, and in play-by-plays was a force in neutral zone entry. His over/under ratio on zone entry was only bettered by fellow teammate Luke Thornton, which says a lot about the team’s dynamic. King hasn’t emerged as a playmaker, he’s more goal-scoring minded, which could be why he didn’t have the same success Thornton had, especially on the attack and on the PK. If anything, however, King’s stock should be elevated this season by the consistency on the draw, off the ice, and in the lockeroom. His 63.53% Faceoff ratio was 1st among Centermen, with teammate and captain Andre LeBastard following him up with a 62.60%. It’s an accomplishment and something King was very focused on when joining the league. Couple that with his compete level and ability to find himself in game-winning situations is something any team would love to have and Vancouver will be excited to utilize next season, especially after falling to D.C. in 5 games with all but one game being 1 goal games. It’s an intangible that Beaviss will look to exploit for season 74 and we wouldn’t be surprised if King is put in situations to win big games for Vancouver early. King’s season, as we pointed out in another .com article where we asked if the World Juniors Championship could save King’s season and clearly it came to be. His performance in WJC improved as the tournament well on and after winning the Gold with Team USA he took that momentum back to Miami. It’s a strange overview. For the fourth wall breaking that is a discussion about the STHS, it’s interesting to note how momentum seemed to define not only King’s season, but Miami as a whole. It’s not exactly the swan song regular season King was hoping for before the first puck drop in season 73. We feel his strides are something to be proud of, however. He’s climbed the scouting central and is projected to likely be one of the best picks in the s73 draft. For King, he will need to learn to manage expectations going forward. We expect good things for King as he likely competes for that ROTY honor in Vancouver. For now, King will be focused on the end of the s73 playoffs.
  10. ? It's the most wonderful time of the year ?PLAYOFF HYPE IS HERE! *as always, don't forget to click the underlined hyperlinks for more information where needed Moose: I hate that song 1. Holy moly, we've got three games left at time of publishing, and we've got a 5 point lead for the Prime Minister's Cup. What was the biggest factor in our league-leading regular season? King: “We just play our game. We got a lot of talent and we’ve used that all year with some great coaching to get us through any rough spots. I’m proud of what this team has done and I’m excited for the playoffs.” 2. Along with the end of the regular season comes the end of regular season awards eligibility. Which award do you want to be considered for, and why? King: “I think my regular season kinda fell below what we were all hoping for. I’m looking forward to competing for that Skylar Rift Playoff MVP Award. That’s my focus as a player and just to make sure we’re doing all we can to be Founder’s Cup champions.” 3. If you aren't planning on winning any awards, nominate someone from our team for an individual award. King: “Immediately I think of Luke Thornton, Matty Socks, Patrik Laine all for MVP. Bacon was an absolute stud in net and without him, every game could’ve been out of hand. Bacon’s the clear goalie of the year for the M. Socks has to be best D-Man. After that, man, there’s so many great players on this roster that all deserve so much credit.” 4. There's a significant gap between the 7th and 8th place teams. With the PM's Cup, we'll draw #8 Philadelphia Reapers. What's the key to winning a series with Philly? King: “Always play our game. It’s the cliché answer but the right one. They’re an 8 seed but hockey is a crazy sport. We can’t sleep on anyone.” 5. Philly has a historically elite goalie having a historically elite VHLM season. How the heck do we solve John Poremba? King: “Get pucks on net, get traffic in front of him. He’s really been a driving force for that team and we’re not gonna rattle him. We gotta get pucks in deep and get to the net for rebounds.” 6. How will you reset after the regular season to prepare yourself for a long playoff run? King: “For me it’s staying this course. I had a rough middle of the season and kind got going again after World Juniors so I just need to stay on track and keep hitting the net.”
  11. With the season 73 playoffs still underway it’s never too early to begin looking at the next VHLM season and with that some interesting news possible coming out of San Diego as Kevin King prepares to shift from the VHLM to VHL as a player but will be more involved in San Diego as AGM. With the distractions of being a current player in the league, while also juggling his duties as an AGM, King has made some moves to get more players in the San Diego camp for next season. It is reported that King will have an extensive program lined up for potential prospects that could be coming to the VHL/VHLM next season. This camp includes several prospects who may have already been in contact with King about potentially joining the VHL/VHLM, including King’s lifelong friend Michael Fletcher, a goalie from Detroit, MI, who has lit up his semi-pro league this past season on route to a championship. In addition to Fletcher, sources claim another prospect, said to be a defender may also be on the books, but could be another season or two off from fully joining the league. There is no word yet on when this camp may begin or official word that Fletcher or any other prospect will immediately join the VHL/VHLM but we will have all the details for you as soon as they become available. It is noted that King will be making several moves during this offseason and has lined up several spots for announcements and media appearances. We will have more details as they too become available.
  12. Good luck Frost with whatever has put you in a position to need to step down.
  13. San Diego Final Regular Season Press Conference: August 24, 2020 – August 30, 2020 1. With the regular season coming to an end this week, who has stood out to you in the lockeroom? 2. How would you evaluate your regular season performance? 3. We will finish the regular season 2nd in the Western Conference and could be as high as 4th in the League. How do you feel about SDM’s season? 4. With our opponent likely being Ottawa, a team we struggled with this season (1-4-0), what do you think the strategy should be to overcome the Lynx this season? 5. Who do you think has the most momentum heading into both the VHL and VHLM playoffs? 6. A little off topic for this one: Now that we into round 2 (it’s really 3 but okay), how has your bracket faired for the NHL playoffs?
  14. Apologize for going AWOL a bit lately. Now that I've settled in a bit with this job, I should return to normal activity and lockeroom presence shortly.

  15. Note before I begin: This past week I made attempts to start up a raffle for a Q&A. We only got two names who were interested and with my new job the raffle kinda fell through the cracks. This coupled with some push back from the BoG, I’ve unfortunately had to scrap this idea. Sorry team, we’ll find something else. If anyone has suggestions let me know and I’d be happy to try them out for other activities for us as a group. For this week’s Press Conference (week of August 17th – 23rd) I’d like to do something a little different. For this week’s questions, I’d like to know more about you the member, as opposed to your player. So, with that in mind here is this week’s Presser for San Diego: 1. What are the Top 5 hockey jerseys you want to have? 2. We need a thing. Vegas has Taylor Swift love, Vancouver has Lord of the Rings shitpost memes, Miami has Cards Against Humanity and Chess Battles. What should be San Diego’s Discord exclusive thing? 3. What are your favorite movies/films? 4. A couple weeks ago, had a 50/50 draw on who has the most luscious locks between Dimmadome and Merrick. This week we move on to the most important talking point in VHL history. Who has the best beard in the VHL/VHLM? 5. What’s a food recipe you’d like to share with the group that you’ve personally tried/cooked? 6. Are you a gamer? If so, what is your favorite genre of games and how do you think that genre could be even better?
  16. Miami Presser: TRADE DEADLINE EDITION 1. Management has been busy this year, drafting tons of active players and trading players in and out of the organization. Which Miami trade made this season do you think was the best for our franchise? King: “I was sad to see Byrne go. I’m happy he’s doing well. I know we seem to be clicking and that’s good. As a player it’s hard to pinpoint a particular trade that you like, for me I just stick to what I can control.” 2. Last year, we had a pretty quiet TDL because we were hot and didn't want to mess with chemistry. In the midst of another ? HOT ? season, should we be looking to tinker with the lineup? King: “Again, I think it’s difficult to speculate. Right now we’re on fire, another playmaker/passer could put us over the edge, otherwise I think you roll with what you got.” 3. No team in the VHLM is perfect (but damn we're close) - what do you see as Miami's biggest need that can be addressed at a Trade Deadline? King: “Internally guys like myself just need to step up. Laine is heating up again, Thornton is solid, Sens, and of course Socks is a monster out there. Lamb cooled on us but I think him and I can get the meter running and we’ll step up when it becomes a necessity. 4. Start a VHLM Trade Deadline Rumour. King: “Kevin King has been quietly shopped around but the return isn’t enough to make a move.” 5. If you were traded this week, which team would you want to be traded to? King: “Vegas. Easily, I’d love to go back there. I think they have a good squad and I’d fit into that lineup well. Other than that, possibly Saskatoon maybe San Diego if the return value was right. I’m happy in Miami, even with the struggles this season.” 6. If you weren't traded this week, you're stuck with Miami for the rest of the season. Where do you see us finishing now that we've (bolstered our team / stayed pat) at the deadline? King: *laughs* “I wouldn’t say stuck. I think we have a great cup contending squad. We have the pieces to go all the way and at this point any other finish is failure. I think we end up in the top 3 and beyond that, I think my play has to catch up to the work at some point, hopefully as we go into the postseason.”
  17. claiming 2nd week. For some reason it's broken. Not sure why I only claimed this last week.
  18. After Moose released his second proposed rework of financials in the VHL, including a rework of the Player Store and Profile back on July 20th, comments rained and opinions were shared but quickly they dissipated, leaving us in a sort of limbo as to whether the BoG would even entertain the idea. It has been almost 4 weeks since that proposal went live and as of now, sources say we are still very much in the preliminary phase of the discussion and the BoG have yet to formally address the proposed system. It’s a blow to the campaign in a way and form the outside looking in feels a little empty as a response but Moose is taking it in stride and is confident everything is remaining on track with original projections. Moose had this to say regarding the news: “It can be difficult sometimes to put yourself in an objective mindset. It’s the summer, lot of guys/gals are busy, lot of other issues like competitive spirit, the portal crashes, and seasonal maintenance all come first to a system that at the present time isn’t vital. The thing about this proposal is we’re trying to make something more valuable, not tweak something essential to the foundations of the league. Ultimately, we have to wait our turn. It can be frustrating, but that’s the best we got here. We’ve got some support at the right levels it seems, but we still have to be patient.” There is no word yet on when the BoG may meet on the Money Rework but we will have all the comments and information available for you as soon as it is made available to us.
  19. "I'll beat it with a stick." - 5 year old Reilly King s73 regarding the STHS treatment of her father...

  20. 1. Miami was recently blown out by the Houston Bulls 7-2. What did you take away from that game and how will we play better down the stretch? King: “We got outshot 72-35 over the last two meetings with Houston. Fact is we gotta be better. It’s gotta come from the lockeroom. Management, Coaching, they’ve changed lines, they’ve moved pieces, it’s gotta come from us. I know I’m not happy with how my play has been going, it’s been a big topic all season for me and within this organization. Right now, we’re in a slump as a team, and that kills me because I know I could be doing more.” 2. This week is VHL Theme Week! What do you plan to do to get the bonus 6 uncapped TPE? Moose: I just wrote an article I would love everyone to take a look at: 3. Next Monday is the Trade Deadline. Which players or what positions do you think we should take a look at? King: “Tough to say really. We have a surplus on offense which doesn’t seem to be clicking that well. At the risk of throwing myself on the plank, I think we need to look at changing out a scorer for someone with more playmaking. We have great players on this squad, another passer could really add depth though.” 4. If you could choose any superpower to use for the rest of your life, which one would you choose? King: “Improbability Manipulation.” 5. Do you have any pre-game rituals? King: “I think my stick use is well documented. If I’m struggling to score, I’ll change it up. Otherwise, just the meditation while I wrap the tape, or guards for my ankles, I haven’t really settled into a pure routine since coming into the league.” 6. How do you think we will perform in our games leading up until the playoffs? What do you think we have to do to take our game to the next level? King: “I think we’ll rebound. Good teams always hit this slump period, It’s almost a blessing it’s now and not in the playoffs. We just gotta play our game and we’ll be right back atop the standings.”
  21. Overview Hello all, I’m Moose here to talk about AATA or the Antler Athletics Talent Acquisition and our plans for the future. We here at AATA want the player to be the focus and want to groom and guide the best talent from around the world into the stars of tomorrow. You’ve seen our work with Kevin King, as he’s transitioned into a competitor and will be arriving in the VHL next season. Oliwer McNair is our newest signing with a bright future in the EFL. And we’re as always, so excited to see them flourish and shine bright in the spotlights of sim sport supremacy. With a focus on the future of the VHL this theme week let’s look at some up incoming superstars that could be joining the agency very soon and are your stars of tomorrow: Pierre-Alexandre Roy – (Left Wing) Pierre-Alexandre Roy is a Canadian born Left Winger out of Sarnia, Ontario. He is currently playing in a junior II division league where he was voted the top rookie last season for his local squad. While they don’t play as a travel league, Roy has shown exceptional puck handling and passing, and has been a force on the penalty kill. Roy will be spending this season and part of next season in this junior II league before making the jump to Sarnia’s junior team to play his first competitive hockey seasons. Collin Peszek – (Defensemen) Collin Peszek, born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is already tearing it up in the USHL-Jr and is a force at all ends of the ice. Peszek is a machine, already 6’2 and over 220lbs, Peszek may be the next player behind King to join the VHL once King retires. The danger is his size and speed. He’s quickly becoming an imposing two-way defender with his high defensive IQ and his quarterbacking of the powerplay. Peszek’s development speed hurts his chances to join on with AATA with VHL regulations, but he’s a steal for any potential affiliate agency that would want to pick him up. Vili Hakkarainen – (Left Wing) Arguably the most obvious next player for our agency to sign, Vili Hakkarainen out of Vantaa, Finland, Vili has already shown promise as a potential top 10 pick in the VHL. His first Finnish junior league season he had 31 goals of his 53 points in his first 60 games as a rookie. He was easily the top rookie and already has 7 goals in his first 5 games to start this very young season in Finland. Vili combines his speed and shot with an incredible hockey IQ for his age. He’s more of an offensive threat than defensive stopper and has been shown to be a less than stellar penalty killer, but at such a junior level, these are skills that can be crafted before getting the nod on a VHLM team. His shear speed and finishing potential make him a massive threat right away and could be deadly in the VHLM in his rookie season. Jenn Ravenwood – (Defensemen) Jenn Ravenwood is a late bloomer and may be the stretch pick for this list. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Ravenwood is a two-way defensemen that has an eye for where to put the puck and the passing to get it there. Her puck handling is her biggest detracting skill, and her size is a concern in a league where the big body hitter rule. Nonetheless, Jenn Ravenwood has been a solid top 4 defensemen for the last two seasons with her local academic team and is expected to get her first crack on the top line this season. Reilly King (daughter of Kevin King) – (Forward) Call it nepotism, but Reilly King is fun to watch. She just turned 5 years old and began playing youth hockey. She’s suited up at Center, Winger, and in net as Goaltender already and clearly has the nature gift for the game. Already showing that leadership quality in directing teammates around, and at such a young age we can only imagine what her skillset will look like when she’s at league level age. She has already shown to have her father’s competitive temper, as her budget for broken hockey sticks leaves a little to be desired. Quite frankly, we’re already scared of her. She’s already throwing hits in youth hockey. We aren’t even sure that’s legal, more concerning is we’re almost certain she doesn’t care.
  22. San Diego Press Conference week of August 10, 2020 – August 16, 2020: 1. With WJC fast approaching, which team looks the most dangerous to you? 2. 8 Points separate the top 6 teams in the VHLM, and there’s 4 points between 2nd and 6th, why do you think it’s so tight this season, who’s been the most surprising team? 3. San Diego had really hit their stride, having won 4 of their last 5. Are you confident the team can maintain this run or are you worried at all about peak fatigue like Miami is experiencing now? 4. With the trade deadline fast approaching, is there any area you think San Diego could get better in through the deadline? 5. IT’S THEME WEEK EVERYONE!!! What are your plans to capitalize on the event and claim that sweet TPE? 6. I’m always looking for new ways to engage people in things like these Press Conferences. Do you have any suggestions for things we could add to spice up these pressers?
  23. FISHY!!!!!! ?
  24. We’ve talked about Kevin King this season and just yesterday it was announced that he has made the WJC roster for Team USA. Starting, likely on the third line, King will now have an opportunity to showcase his talent on the world stage for the first time and with the bright lights we have to ask, could this be what King needs to elevate his game to the next level? After reportedly pulling out of the queue for a GM position at the WJC this season, King was selected to play along side his Miami teammate Chance Rust. Rust won’t be his only familiar face at World Juniors though as he will be flanked by fellow centermen and San Diego stars John Merrick and Pietro Angellini. King is expected to play on the third line, between winger/center Cole Newhook and right winger Gary Rush or possible Keith Krestanovich. As stated above, it’s a chance for King to get on the right foot. He’s got 2 goals in his last 4 games but only has 3 points in his last 11. King has been up and down the Marauders’ lineup, and this could be King’s chance to step away from Miami for a moment and recollect himself for the final half of the regular season. It should be noted that King will be walking into WJC with his team’s best overall faceoff percentage and that could play a factor in his spot in the lineup. Additionally, with such an emphasis on single game play, King’s 5 GWG could be dangerous if he gets going. For the first time since what feels like the start of the season, there’s reason for optimism in King’s camp. How do you think King will perform at the WJC this season? PLAYERS/TEAM MENTIONS: @Steve, @Boragina, @okifenoki, @G_Rush, @GrittyIsKing09, @turkey2349, @Banackock
